>A hamburger is a sandwich.
Do you agree with this this statement?
Who the fuck goes to McDonald's or burger King or anywhere and just orders a plain hamburger. Nobody. I might start going to fast food places and request a hamburger. Not a jumbo jack, not a whopper, not a mcdouble. Hamburger. I'll
>>7943378
No.
Buns are not bread.
A hamburger is a burger. A hotdog is a hotdog.
A pizza is not a pie.
>>7943385
>buns are not bread
Why
>>7943384
I did this at McDonald's recently.
Hamburger was fucking good for McShits.
The cheese is too overpowering in a cheeseburger/mcdouble.
>>7943384
I think the vitriol made your heart give out mid-sentence
>>7943387
Meat patties are not steak despite being the exact same ingredients.
>>7943388
I used to actually prefer a hamburger over cheeseburger happy meal when I was a lad. And I eat whoppers as is no cheese, whopper needs no cheese. Normally I get cheeseburgers though just because everyone does but I'm going to experiment and make an effort to just eat hamburgers, not cheeseburgers. I've got a feeling decent burgers don't even need cheese or bacon.
>>7943385
>buns are not bread
anon
Are the ingredients sandwiched between two pieces of bread? Yes.
Ergo it's a sandwich.
What about this?
>>7943405
That's actually how hamburgers started.
>>7943392
Answer my question. Why aren't buns bread
A hamburger is more closely related to a bread roll.
A sandwich is made from 2 slices of bread with filling in between.
>>7943405
It's a paddy melt
>>7943412
So subs, hoagies, cheese steaks and the like aren't sandwiches because they don't use sliced bread. You heard it here folks
>>7943423
That's right. The term "sandwich artist" is both misleading and false advertising.
Well yeah, a hamburger is a sandwich.
But, that's like calling your pet cat a mammal instead of a cat. It's too generic.
Hamburger sandwich? Too redundant. There is no reason I can think of to ever describe a hamburger as a sandwich.
>>7943423
Behold, the wiener sandwich!
>>7943460
I've heard hotdogs referred to as "frankfurter sandwiches" by my grandma once.
>meat between bread
Yea that's a sandwhich. Only autists disagree.
>>7943472
I call it a burger.
I guess I'm autismo.
>>7943460
>A sandwich is a food item consisting of one or more types of food, such as vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein two or more pieces of bread serve as a container or wrapper for some other food
Sure, why not? Do you have a substantial reason why a hot dog is not a sandwich? Don't cherry pick too much
>>7943412
And suddenly, bread rolls are no longer bread apparently
>>7943483
As soon as somebody quotes Wikipedia, they lose all credibility.
>>7943378
Absolutely: a hamburger is a type of sandwich.
>basic SAT logic
>all hamburgers are sandwiches, but not all sandwiches are hamburgers
"Hamburger" is a subcategory of the (((sandwich))) category.
>>7943495

>>7943498
Is a McChicken a sandwich, or a chicken burger?
If there is a meat patty between two slices of bread, it's a sandwich.
If there is a meat patty between a bun it's a burger.
If there is a Weiner between two slices of bread it's a sandwich. If you only use one slice to rill around the dog it's a budget hotdog. If it's in a bun it's a hotdog.
Buns are bread, but are different because they're cooked individually from the "slices"
Can we just agree it's all delicious and end it?
>>7943385
>buns are not bread
Hmmm..
Is this a sandwich?
From now on I'm only referring to hamburgers as Ground Beef Sandwiches.
Deal with it.
>>7943508
It's a foodstack [patent pending]
(But really, it's a sandwich)
Is this a multi-layered bread sandwich?
>>7943521
Mm mm good; my favorite gourmet sandie
>>7943384
i order mcdonalds hamburgers when i go there, they're super cheap and don't have gross cheese on them so it's win-win
>>7943521
Only if every other slice is toasted.
>>7943483
>two or more slices of bread
>what is open face sandwich?
I would argue a sandwich is anything where bread is used as the containment vessel. A burger is a sub species of sandwich.
>dat feel when you realise how autistic you are replying to this shit
>>7943477
A burger is a type off sandwhich. You aren't autistic.
>>7943405
Sanburger
>>7943384

>>7943385
>Buns are not bread
mexican intellectuals everyone
Is a hotdog a sandwich?
>>7943460
That's not a picture of your mother.
Hamburgers are sandwiches, hot dogs are open faced sandwiches.
they were called hamburger sandwiches for a long time and were abbreviated in the sixties.
>>7943483
>slices of bread
>Implying submarine sandwiches aren't sandwiches
>>7943384
You'll WHAT???
>>7944676
Submarine sandwiches, or hoagies were developed first in Peru around a bread called hogatos. They were unleavened bread wrapped around a rock for shape, baked then cut in half to form a hollow shell to stuff with meats.
No. There needs to be a fine line in place between a burger with buns, and a sandwich with bread, as they are very different, and sometimes I may want one, and not the other.
>>7943384
Me
And by plain hamburger, I just have the bun and the patty. None of the disgusting sauce and other shit they put on
Get 3 of them every time I go to McDs. God-tier food.
>a McShill thread is a hidden thread
>>7943466
Because in Wien/Vienna and some other placrs Wieners are called Frankfurter.

It is

>>7944607
Bringing logic and facts into this is an exercise in futility. You're arguing with the same people who think any kind of meat between two buns is a burger. They think a grilled chicken breast sandwich is a chicken burger if it's on a bun instead of loaf bread.
>>7943441
>order a burger at any fast food place
>DO YOU WANT THE SUPER-MEGA-SIZE TRIPLE-WOMBO-COMBO or just the sandwich?

Hoagies are named after the shipyard in Philly where they were invented during WWI, dummy.

It's short for submarine sandwich you idiot. Here's your you.

Yes. A Reuben is also a sandwich. And so is a grilled cheese.

NNNNNIGGA OF COURSE IT'S A SANDWICH.
>>7947880
If there's a slice of bread in the middle, is it a bread sandwich or just 3 slices of bread in a pile?
This same fucking argument could be made for tacos, burritos, quesadillas ect.

People who are strongly lactose intolerant.
Although I have been told by some McDonalds employees that a number of idiots order a "cheeseburger with no cheese", not knowing what a hamburger is, or that it is on the menu.

They probly make cheese burgers different too hamburger

is stottie cake bread, a bun or a cake?
were I to put a burger in one, how would I address it?
>>7943508
It is a sandwich, for me.
>>7948469
It's bread.
>>put a burger in one
You mean a whole hamburger, buns and all? Or did you mean just a patty? If the latter, you'd have a hamburger. Though it would be a pretty crappy one. IIRC Stottie cake is pretty tough and doughy, that wouldn't be a good choice for a burger since the insides would likely squish out when you took a bite.
>>7943518

McDonald's sucks.
