I've been shopping at publix my entire life, I guess their food is better than direct competitors but it's mostly trash compared to fast food fried chicken and fancier grocery stores. Also I think wawa's tendie sub is better than Publix. The only time publix can compete is if the chicken is fresh (which it rarely is). Oh and costco rotisserie chicken is way better as well.
