I'd live in Hawaii and eat sushi every day.

It's the only state in the US that doesn't require fish to be frozen before being served, so you can get inexpensive raw fish that was caught just a few hours earlier, and there are a shit ton of Japanese who know what to do with it.

You're not going to get a lot of melons grown in a tropical forest. There might be enough water (if you're careful enough to create proper irrigation), but they need a lot more light to create all those simple sugars in the flesh than you're going to get under forest canopy.

I didn't realize it until years after moving away and going on /ck/ where people constantly talk about how all the sushi you eat was previously frozen, and was like, "no, I remember eating fish that had just been caught, and at most was put in a cooler before being filleted".
