Hi /ck/ long story short I need some ideas for salmon recipes. I'd prefer to bake it but a stovetop would be fine too. I have almost all day to prepare so time isn't a big issues but it is still there. I'm not a tard either so following directions shouldn't be too hard, it's just I haven't cooked much fish before. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Sometimes I really wonder if we all have pictures of literally everything imaginable on our computers.

My favorite way to cook salmon is in a frying pan. Get your fillet, cut some paralell slits in the skin (this is so that it doesn't curl when you cook it). Cook it skin side down until it's mostly done, then flip and finish the 2nd side. You can tell when the fish is done by looking at the color change.

Seems simple enough. Anything else other than salt nd pepper?

I've always loved salmon rillettes.
Kenji's recipe is pretty gud.

We? What I'm confused about is why people bother to save so many silly and useless pictures. What's the point?

Nope, that's all you need. The key is getting dat crispy skin.

Would oil make it crispier? Or should I not?

Of course you need some kind of oil or butter in the pan, but the type doesn't really matter.
To get the best crispy skin you should use a fortified butter and start with a cold pan.
