I need some help making pasta. I live in a dorm that only has a microwave. I make pasta by filling the bowl with water and microwaving it for 5 minutes, then stirring and microwving for another 5 mins. The last time I did this, a bunch of slime from the pasta oozed all over the microwave plate. How do I stop this from happening? BTW, pic related is the pasta I'm making
Also any meals that can be made with a microwave would be appreciated. I'm ready to blow my brains out eating pasta
Getting too hungry to wait for help. I'm gonna go full autism and boil water and soak the pasta in that. This time I'll add salt to the water
rinse the pasta first so some starch comes off ayyy i dont knwo

i assume you have a fridge so
1-soak the pasta overnigh5 to reconstitute it
2-drain off excess water in the morning. the pasta may appear white but thats ok
3-cook in microwave until desired temperature and doneness is achieved. the microwave should cook the starch out
ive never tried this, so im not sure the exact results, but it should work

That's just starch. When water boils, it tends to bubble up and overflow. Use a bigger container or less water and pasta.
Try cooking rice in microwave. Get half a cup of Jasmine rice and put it in container. Rinse once or twice in tap water and decant the supernatant. Buy those tom yum paste or curry paste and dump a spoonfull onto the rice. Slice some sausages, chicken balls, fish balls, meat balls or leftover chicken and dump it in. Same with hard veges like carrots. Add water double the volume of rice and then cover the container. Microwave on high for 10 mins. Open and stir and add bak choy or other leafy veges. Cover and microwave for another 10-15 mins until rice is fluffy and has absobed the water fully. All in one dish perfect for eating in the lab.

get a slow cooker
Also I made pasta like that (submerge in water, add salt, microwave for ~10 minutes) tons last year at school and it was fine everytime. And it was a shitty microwave too

Frozen veges is perfect for my rice dish. Get those frozen mixed vege. You can vary the seasoning. Try buying Knorr Chicken, beef or anchovies cube stocks. Crumble a small portion into your rice. Too much can be too salty. You can also break an egg over the half cooked rice and cook it further. Make sure you have carbs, proteins and veges in your daily diet. I lived on this dish for 6 months when I had to do lots of overnighters in my uni lab.
