/Ck/ why did my honey go cloudy?
Have you been heating it up?
honey crystallizes if you touch it with metal, that's what I've always been told
Do you touch yourself?

your honey is past its expiration date by a few months.
looks like it's crystalizing.
best to use it all now.
heat it up in the microwave just a little to get it nice and runny and make something...

Unrelated but my honey has small circles at the bottom of the jar, they almost look like mould outbreaks, but I thought honey didn't get that due to its antibacterial properties.

It just become more solid at cooler temperatures. Put however much you want to use in a shot glass and microwave it for 10 seconds.

>a substance literally evolved over millions of years to be a perfect preservative
>it expired lol
When I leave my honey on the table it stays clear. Put it in the fridge then it goes cloudy.
Has it been getting colder in your area?
I love the lack of basic science education around these parts.
your honey went cloudy because it has been exposed to air and enough water has evaporated that it has begun to crystallize. Honey will also crystallize when it is very cold.
if you want to do a fun experiment, lay out a row of popsicle stick in a wax paper and cover them with the cloudy honey(leave the ends exposed by 1-2 inches
cover and put in a dry place for a week or two and presto- honey brittle on a stick!

Products that use fillers like glucose syrup tend to expire. 100% honey doesn't however.
