Jesus Christ. I thought I was bad being able to down a bottle of Turkey on a week night. A bottle of rum every two hours is pure degenerate. And expensive.

>former definitely. much better now.

Nice. Although I hope that rum habit is from the past.

kraken and coke or jack and coke used to be my go to shitty mixers. I used to work 12 hour shifts and kill either a 5th or try to kill a rack of beer a night cause it was night shift and I couldn't ever sleep.

I know I can still casually drink a 5th in 3 hours and it just primes me for more. I don't like to be drunk I like to be blacked the fuck out but it's awful.

Stopped drinking on weekdays and I don't get shithammered anymore. I miss it but I feel 100x better but haven't thrown anyone down a flight of stairs recently or crashed my car on a yak run or gotten my face stitched back together recently so thats nice I guess.

so lethargic i can barely type. seem the older i get the worse my benders become. i'm in so much fucking pain i mean holy shit. i lucked out on a cryptocurrency holding and it's value rocketed to 200 times that i paid. decided to have an expensive bottle of wine to celebrate. 7 weeks later and for the first time i'm sober in the afternoon. i'm also thousands in debt, my house is in fucking tatters, i'm coughing up blood, throwing up constantly, haven't eaten in maybe a week, there are stains on the walls and fucking ceilings, my bed looks and feels like a swamp, there are broken vodka bottles and glasses everywhere, i think i may have to fucking throw my dishes away instead of trying to wash them and i'm covered in cuts and enormous bruises. last friday i spent 270 in 12 hours, on heroin, crack, valium and vodka.

if i don't stay sober today i will kill myself tonight. i mean it. i cannot take this pain any longer.

Beer. Usually something light and crisp like a pilsner.

A good cider.

Vodka. Cheap and effective and mixes well with a lot.of things. Typically I'll grab a pint and chase it with something like Sprite.

Beer. I enjoy white wine and rose is nice in the summer but I'm not big on reds.

Yep. Really manifested itself in the last year to where I drink every day now, atleast a pint, usually more.

I don't know. Some days I wake up and the thought of leaving the house terrifies me so I have to ply myself with whiskey until I've gathered the nerve. It makes me feel like the person I wish I was, and that thought scares me.

mah it took forever to find the drunk theread on here, from now on you should use the usual depressed guy praying to a bottle of whiskey pic ok. so anyway i sucked down like a pint of evan williams and im flying, pretty cool huh. i was sober all week basically, which isn't unusual, cause im old as fugg and i can only suck down shit on the weekend ok. Like normally i go to the gas station and get a couple tall boy beer's like a steel reserve and a busch ice on friday afternoon and i suck em down as quick as possible, i mean not no shot gunning brews contest or nothing, but just suck down a 25 oz in like 30 min if possible in order to prime the ol pump to get your old gag reflex to shut the fugg up so you can dump some booze down your gullet without it throwing up on you. So usually i would suck down a handle of vodka on the weekend, usually platinum vodka, and have a couple beers on friday nite to prime the ol pumpski and have a few beers on sunday to patch up and keep from hitting the ol wall from falling off the ol booze cruise at 90mph and having the shakes and the fear catch you, and you can usually get to work on time and only be slightly messed up, which isn't even from being drunk at all it's just from withdrawls, or brain damage from suckin down a handle every weekend for like 14 years, but oh well i met drunkaholics much more diseased and delerious than me who had it together more than me, that's pretty fugged up huh, oh well who cares huh take it easy you guys, i've got to tighten up and not be a degenerate delerious drunkster starting at some point soon, i've been drunking for like 4 weeks straight now, so i got to take a few months off, the older i get the more close death is knocking at my door when i wake up on sunday mourning with the fear and the first thing you think of when you wake up is the realization of the fact that you are mortal and YOU ARE GOING TO DIE ONE DAY lmao pretty cool huh. oh well cheers mommy lovers dont' drink and drive :D

just to clarify... nobody actually enjoys the taste of spirits, right? i mean i have types i like more than others, but there isn't one which doesn't taste vile. i drink them solely because it's so much easier to get drunk than it is with a legit nice-tasting drink like beer.
>>
>>7871142
I don't drink alcohol with meals.

The drink that I've enjoyed the most was a very nice fruity rum, but usually I just drink beer with friends.

The best way to get drunk depends on if you want it fast or slow. If you want slow then just drink plenty of beer over multiple hours. It can get very nice if you manage a low intensity drinking regime for really long time, like 8 hours or more. The best drink to get drunk fast is obviously something distilled, usually I prefer vodka for that because it's the closest to tasteless so you can easily mix it with anything, even things that most people don't think to like beer.

I like both beer and wine honestly, though I have to admit that if I'm forced to drink cheep brands of either then beer is immensely preferable. When dealing with better quality I'd say my preferences even out.

I am not an alcoholic. I sometimes binge drink, occasionally even to an extremely drunk level, but not as much as I used to when I was younger. Even during my worst phases I was still perfectly capable of going for months at a time without a single drink, so I think that decides it.

I drink up to a liter of spirits a day. I was already an alcoholic by the time I could drink legally.
>>
>>7885694
I would highly recommend you getting checked out by a doctor if you're already at that level by age 22. Is the liter-a-day pretty consistent for you? At the least you probably are developing a fatty liver which can lead to much larger problems like cirrhosis and well, you know how that ends.

>>

>every friday

If you'd said every day it might be an issue. Then again, if you're pounding it down over a short period of time you can poison yourself, but that's different from alcoholism.
>>
>>7889454
Fantastic. Alcoholism runs in both sides of my family so it worries me sometimes.

It's funny. If I drink a beer or a glass of liquor per night throughout the week I never feel like going nuts on the weekend. But if I have a dry week all bets are off once classes are over on Friday.
>>
>>7889461
>Then again, if you're pounding it down over a short period of time you can poison yourself
Yea I'm pretty sure that happened last time I drank two FourLoko Golds in an hour. I ended up puking my guts out, was a puke virgin before that incident. The sugar content didn't help.
>>
>>7889469
You just threw up.
You weren't poisoned.
Poisoned is when you go comatose and risk death.
Puking is a sign you drank too much, but not necessarily poisoned.
Poisoned is to go even further.

Also
>FourLoko
Gross.
Have self respect, unless it's free.
>>
>>7889469

I do around half a handle of hard liquor every day and haven't puked in over a decade, but it's because I sip it throughout the day instead of trying to do as many shots as I can all at once when I go out to party on the weekend. I'm honestly not sure which is worse, but I'm guessing the non-stop abuse I'm giving my liver by being continually drunk from the moment I wake up is more likely to shorten my life compared to frat style binge drinking.
>>
>>7889476
>Poisoned is when you go comatose and risk death.
Yea I wasn't near that, I had been much drunker before. I'm guessing it was the sugar. I remember puking in my trash can then jerking off and falling asleep.
>Gross.
I wanted to try one, I had never had it before. I agree. It was nasty.
>>
>>7889477
>more likely to shorten my life compared to frat style binge drinking.
>more likely
No, definitely.
You drink 10X more than any binger.

The sad thing is that your liver will start to fail a lot earlier than you think.
It's like when you're 60 and then you die in a year.

Your have problems when you're 40. And then live 20+ more years in a half life
>>
>>7889476

Not that anon, but I consider alcohol poisoning when you spend the whole next day continually puking out every last remnant of anything you consumed and feeling like death, rather than just having a little too much and puking once or twice and then feeling better. I'd compare it to food poisoning, in that your body spends a good number of hour saying, "no, no, no, no! Never fucking do that to me again, idiot."
>>
>>7889480
>able to jerk off
Ok, you good.

My stages of drunkeness is
>1) Double vision at a distance
>2) Double vision closer
>3) Eye twitching
>4)Spins

Once I get to spins, I'm fucking done. Puking can come around 3 or 4, but it really depends on how fast I drink rather than how much.

Just learn your signs and you can drink a lot safer.
>>
>>7889482

I finally went to the doctor last week and now have "alcoholism" on my permanent medical record - you don't need to rub it in (I'm supposed to tell my parents about it tomorrow as well, and am terrified.
>>
>>7889489

>>
>>7889494
Medical records cannot be released unless it's super serious shit, which you likely won't ever have to deal with.
Your employers cannot access it.

You'll be ok. Since you're young enough to worry about what your parents think, then you're young enough to crank it down.
>>
>>7889489
>Just learn your signs and you can drink a lot safer.
Yea I'm trying. The problem is like I said I usually drink a fifth, and when I drink often it's a goodly amount at once so I probably skip signs. One time I downed a fourth of a bottle of Caliber vodka in one gulp on an empty stomach before going to dinner. It burned like fire and I was dopey as fuck in the cafeteria about 15 minutes later.

Thanks, anon. I never would have realized that without your insightful comment.

Yeah, I don't need anyone to tell me that my life is in a bad place and that alcohol is a major factor. But it happens gradually, and you brush it off, thinking, "I can stop anytime I want and go back to that likable, successful kid I was a decade ago anytime I want", and anytime someone tries to intervene to say that it's become an issue you just become irritable because you already know that it's an issue, but it's not something you want to deal with today, and it just goes on and on until it seriously begins to affect your ability to function as a normal human being in day to day life.

So yeah, getting kicked out and having nowhere to go and not being able to drive and having very little money to make it back to my parents house, in my 30's, with no plan and my tail between my legs is definitely a wake up call. At the very least my situation isn't so bad that I'll end up on the street.

newfag here. for my sanity i need to clarify for everyone reading, that it's understood that this is lethal. the same meat may well have been fine having been that thoroughly cooked, had it not been minced. half-cooked mince will rek your shit.
>>
>>7889612
Nah, it's not lethal.
It's just risky.
Proper raw beef flesh is fine to eat. The interior of the meat didn't have a chance to be contaminated what with being inside the cow and all.

The problem is with ground beef. Ground beef mixes clean inside meat with possibly dirty outside meat.

That's the difference between a nice good rare steak, and disgusting "rare" hamburger.

Raw hamburger is rolling dice with what could contaminating. You cold be fine. My dad, for example, would take a small bite of the ground beef when he was making burgers. Never got sick.
But there was always a chance.

Beef is pretty ok to eat raw, even if it's ground. Worst case is you get mild food poisoning.
Pork, chicken, and fish can have far worse fates awaiting you.
>>
>>7889622
>raw beef flesh is fine to eat
i meant supermarket stuff. i.e what everyone eats. 100% of it will be unsafe
>>
>>7889622
>Pork, chicken, and fish can have far worse fates awaiting you.
>Pork
USDA just lowered the internal heat requirement for cooked pork. Not saying you're wrong just pointing that out.
>>
>>7889611
That's actually some old traditional shit.
You solve like with like.

That's, thread related, the source of the phrase "Hair of the dog".
Now it means the drink you have while hungover to help you recover.

The whole phrase is "Hair of the dog that bit me".
In ye olde times, you cured a dog's bite by salving the wound with a bit of the dog's hair.

Like solves like.
>>
>>7889628
>100% of it will be unsafe
Nothing is 100%.
You could probably eat a package of raw supermarket hamburger and be fine.
Probably.
But keep doing it long enough and you will get sick.

There's nothing inherently lethal about raw meat.
It's only what it could be infected with that can hurt you.

there was a fairly recent scandal about british chickens in supermarkets, saying that they all contained some kind of food poisoning bacteria. plus it's widely accepted that during the mass-butchering of animals for supermarkets, the meat all gets covered in shit. i'd rather chew glass than risk supermarket stuff. if a butcher cut a piece of cow from a healthy animal though, i'd def try some raw.

Is it weird that I enjoy butchering/hunting animals cleanly so that they feel no fright? It's not out of any faggot "muh feels" bullshit but in my experience scared livestock/prey makes for really subpar meats. I think it has to do with adrenaline's affect on the body.
>>
>>7889665
>doesn't help this weird sense of impending doom.
That's normal part of withdrawal/hangover.
You feel anxiety about anything and everything.

If you're having shakes after one day, you're in some trouble.
Straight withdrawal can end up with delirium tremens. The DTs.
You're essentially in hell for a long period. You shake, you sweat, your body panics, while your mind goes absolutely apeshit. Waking hallucinations, nightmares, constant agitation and unrest.
Sometimes it leads to seizures and death.
Alcohol withdrawal is one of the worst drug withdrawals to go through.

If you got it so bad that you got the shakes after one day's worth of not drinking, you need to ease yourself down.
Things generally peak after three days sober, but if you're already shaking after one day, day three sounds like DTs.

Ease yourself down, but don't use the excuse of "I'm drunk, I'm not responsible if I have more to drink".

Try to sleep.

If you're in a jam and you can't immediately do anything to help your problem, try to sleep.

Ease yourself down and drink shitloads of water.
Gatoraid and shit helps.
Anything high in potassium.
When you drink, you deplete your potassium fast, which may be causing your shakes since potassium is vital in controlling your muscles.

absolutely, I got 4dui's been in jail, house arrest, listerine, don't have a licence and wont for a long time, numerous injuries from alcohol including several major car crashes one of which I was extremely (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((lucky))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to survive (rolled car 7+ times off hill road down mountain car ended 250 meters from road)

I've been on antabuse before

I just think life is not worth living it's a lot of misery toil and suffering for nothing at all and alcohol is the antidote it never fails to make me feel better, and even laugh and be joyous

it's weird but I think of alcohol like my girlfriend and think or it in that way you know I'm really attached to it have these nostalgic feelings about it a fondness

hell I just got a pscyh ward 19 day involuntary because I broke my rule and brought spirits, drank the entire liter and went crazy aparantely, shrieking around in public threatening to kill people and myself rambling drunk (I have no recollection)

oh well, I'll probably die from alcohol in some way (I'd kill myself long before I'd let cirrhosis do it - seen that death before it's no way to die). I'm think a suicide in which I use alcohol to gain the courage, or perhaps some sort of car crash or other misadventure

I don't know why I do this to myself. I always think 'existential' questions constantly, what is life, this is absurd why am I suffering why endure it why am I living, I should end it life is irrelevant alcohol helps

I had an intervention of sorts with my parents about 5 months ago after they found out how much liquor I was putting away. I was good for the first few months, only drinking a couple beers socially during a night out. Then it turned into "well I'll just have one or two beers after I get home before bed too, it's not like I'm drinking vodka anymore." And I'm sure you know where it went from there, I was basically back to drinking what I used to and just had another family intervention. I hurt me so much to see my dad cry, this guy who's always been mr macho his whole life was weeping because of me. Basically I go completely sober and get my shit together, not a drop, or I'm kicked out of the house. I'm 23 with a college degree but a shitty job that could hardly support living on my own. Sorry mane, you're one of us.
Your options are;
1. High functioning alcoholic who hides it from your loved ones.
2. Happy clappy born again delusion case who trades booze for recovery treatment.

binge drinking is crazy dangerous. be careful anon.

>>7881844

sounds like you have terrible anxiety and you're self-medicating with alcohol. not a healthy habit.

>>7885882

i'm certain it's different for everyone anon. i'm 3 weeks sober and i have my ups and downs like anyone else. just the times i am down, it's really REALLY bad.

i'm just going to continue staying sober and being hopeful. i hope you can do the same.

i keep thinking on a daily basis what a miracle it is i'm not dead. so many times my BAC% was at a lethal level but somehow i'm still here. and i don't want to take my body or life for granted anymore.

I'll answer your essay w/ an update.
I'm >>7889665 and I haven't slept since my first post so sorry if this is rambling.I've been drinking heavily for the past 3 years. Tried only binging but recently switched to pic related and a bottle of wine every night. You can read what I went through while this thread has been up but basically I cut myself off Saturday, started to shake so bad that I drove myself (stupid, I know but amberlamps are pricey) to the ER. They just tested my blood, gave me a 1000ml banana bag w/ some 100ml more fluids (glyco-something?) and some meds (lorazepam early, clorazepam a bit later) to stop the shakes. When I first got to the receptionist I was shaking so bad that I was stuttering too hard to speak. I don't have a stutter. They prescribed me some chlordiazepoxide for 6 days. I'll pick up with the last of my final severance pay once it clears but I'm not proud to say I bought a 8% 40oz. and a tall boy. I logged on to ventrillo for the first time in a long time just to talk to friends. IDK your situation but being isolated and alone in a rural area is a big factor in why I've been drinking so much. Just talking to old friends helped a lot. I drank two glasses from the 40 (drinking from a glass really helps limit my intake weirdly) but didn't feel the crave to touch anymore. Smoked many cigs but talking to people I like helped a lot. Also, the doctor said gatorade is important. Make sure you're ready.
