Also I was not really referring to the canned version but more the fact that you never see it in restaurants anymore.

I've never understood the appeal of Manhattan clam chowder. New England, I understand, because it's a creamy clam chowder. But, if I wanted a tomato based soup with clams, I'd just make bouillabaisse or cioppino instead.

I remember when we had Osco Drugs in Indianapolis when I was growing up. They all closed in Indy, but I guess whatever Jewel is bought them, or something, and they're still around in Chicago.
