Hi /ck/

I'll be in Las Vegas for three weeks (I'm from CA) and am looking for good restaurants that aren't tourist traps, buffets, or plain overpriced.

So far I've eaten in Izakaya Go in Chinatown and I've enjoyed the two or three times I've eaten there.

Any recs? Thanks in advance.

why are you discounting the buffets?
>>
>>7745962
There's only two buffets worth going to anyway (Bacchanal and Wickedspoon)

If you know a decent hole-in-the-wall buffet then by all means, but I'm generally not a big fan of buffets
>>

uhh...hole in the wall buffets are gonna be like old country buffet, proper las vegas buffets have good product.

do you understand that?

>Bacchanal
>worth going to

I honestly had a better time at The Buffet Bellagio in terms of quality food and service, and Le Village at Paris for maximum quality-price ratio.

Most of the restaurants worth going to are indeed in Chinatown.

There was one decent hole in the wall Japanese curry place I went to in a drunken stupor but I can't seem to dig it up on Google, odds are they went under I guess. Maybe they remodeled so heavily I can't recognize it from Yelp photos anymore. I want to say it was only a few blocks west of the Rio...

Hole in the wall buffets are garbage you can get anywhere. Skip.

If anything I'd take advantage of the confluence of east and west coast fast food.

>In-N-Out
>The Habit
>Steak N' Shake
>White Castle
>Shake Shack

Cheap way to experience a bit of novelty.

Just stay home.

Bouchon has an excellent breakfast that is very reasonably priced.

Pan e Vino's (sp) by the airport is pretty damn good. Also, around the corner and down the block of Wild Bill's is a shitty dive bar if you want to drink some beer without all the loud touristy shit going on, or corona/heiniken being the best thing on tap.
>>
>not overpriced
>vegas

Kek good luck.

That being said im from LA and go to vegas once every year. Gordon ramsays steak is a literal top tier for me. Not super cheap uet not insanely expensive. Last time i went with my now ex gf. It was about $425 for the both of us. Not bad. The food and service was perfection.

I always go to an all-you-can-eat sushi place called Sushi Kaya. Quality is what you expect for $30. Service is great
>>
FUKU BURGER.
If you're going to all you can eat sushi, Goyemon.
Ramen tatsu's good if you like ramen, ramen sora and monta are all overrated imo.
Ichiza is good japanese food.

I'm a local. Ask for more types of restaurants if you'd like more, but those are my top.

Moved to Vegas 2 months ago, these are my recomendations so far;

>Fremont Street/Downtown
Glutton off of Fremont Street is my absolute favorite place in the City. Generally chill environment, good service, fantastic food for Weekend Brunch, Lunch or Dinner. I generally go for the weekend Brunch tho.

The Smashed Pig
Eat. or Chow. (Owned by the same chef)
Carson Kitchen
Donut Bar(But you gotta get there early in the morning)

>Off-Strip
Hash House a Go-Go can be kind of a tourist trap but decent price for HUGE portions and good food. There are multiple locations.

FUKU Burger like another guy said.
District One Asian Fusion
KoMex Fusion
JINYA Ramen

>On the Strip
Holstien's Burgers in Cosmo is pretty good, but idk if you'll find it pricey.
Beerhaus in The Park
Bruxie
Tacos el Gardo. Al Pastor and the Cow Cheek are the best.

Still exploring the city, so I have a lot more to try out.
>>
oh, naked city pizza is also really good, it's right next to a dive bar called moon doggies if you're into that
>>

I agree on Monta, but Sora's been consistently great for me. Tatsu may well be better, though.

I love the lunch special at Chao Thai on S. Maryland Pkwy (by UNLV) if you're looking for a decent lunch in the 7-10 dollar range. Best donuts in the valley are Ronald's in Chinatown.

I was going to tell OP to go to Wickedspoon.

My brother got married in Vegas and we ate there - holy shit that was amazing food.

Circus circus is a rather shit place in general but the steakhouse there is top notch

Secret pizza place in Cosmo. You're welcome

I like Wimpy's in North Vegas. There's a gas station nearby that sells both Thrifty and BlueBell ice cream.
