Why did Sam's Club change their pretzel recipe? That was the best.

What can an Amerifat buy at Costco to eat healthy?

My shopping list usually includes:

Frozen individually wrapped chicken breasts
Earthbound Farms "power" mix (kale, chard, spinach)
Baby carrots
Gargonzola/feta/cheddar cheese
2% milk
The 2.5 lb jar of unsalted mixed nuts
Sliced oven roasted turkey for the salads

I usually eat salads for 4 days straight but then I eat crap food such as takeout or something. Do I just need more willpower and self control?
I've started taking my pupper on half mile walks every day, will that be enough to start losing weight?
>>
I get me the large tubs of hummus non-sabra hummus
the giant ass bags of pita chips
the 4lb boxes of falls brand bacon
then I am a weeb so I get myself a box of the veggie spring rolls and the frozen char siu bao
>>
>>7691559
i think salads four days a week is great and walking your pupper. that is a nice shopping list as well
>>
Their store brand bread is generally cheap and good. Same with their tortillas.

Their onions are ginormous and cheap.

They have the lowest prices on meat in general, but you have to buy a frickin huge amount of it. But if you have a vacuum sealer and a freezer, buy meat every 3 months, portion it out when you get home, vacseal it and freeze it.

Always get your yeast and spices at Costco or at least check their prices against the grocery store - a jar of cinnamon was $7 at the grocer but only $2.50 at Costco.

The automatic doors that let you leave.
>>
whats the brand of hotdog that Sam's Club sell at their food court
>>
>>7691559
Dump the dairy, you don't need it. Everything in the produce cooler and meat department is a good deal if you're meal prepping. Check /fit/ for a prep thread they always have one. True Roots sprouted rice and quinoa blend or just a big fucking bag of brown rice are healthy as fuck. If you buy bread, Oroweat is $1.50 more than the grocery store for 4x as much bread. Awesome deal.

Walk/jog with the pup a little longer and you're golden.

costco's 4 pack of frozen pizzas and frozen mini pizzas are the best frozen pizzas you can get and cheap. Also you can't beat the 1.50 hotdog and soda.

>>

The lightest tasting beer. Imagine diluted bud light.

But cheap as fuck tho

Best item at Costco, probably why I still have a membership. The price is fantastic compared to regular grocery store ($5 for 50 vs $5 for 12). Can't go back to regular tortillas now.
>>

mohnica, these are the shit and way too convenient vs homemade.

anyone try that "pure Virgin cold press hipster coconut" juice its dank af but like 16 for four bottles
>>
I keep hearing how good the Costco butchery is.
I've got a card but haven't gone in years now.

Is it worth going there for meat? Are the prices cheaper than other grocers?
>>
>>7691961
vs other grocery stores yes(especially if you go organic), vs a local butcher only maybe not
>>
Love those hepatitis A berry blends, mmm,, fugg yeess
>>
>>7691985
Eh in my experience it's not cheaper actually more pricier by about 20% and even higher when grocery stores have sales. I live in LA so Mexican and Asian markets are good value for chicken, fish and beef and pork that aren't steaks and salmon. Steaks are bette compared to Ralph's or vons

good place to buy whole beef tenderloins too if you are going to have a dozen people over and need to feed them like kings...

As a European American supermarkets fascinate me. So you need a membership for this particular supermarket ? Why ? From what I gather on your culture isnt Walmart way cheaper ? Is there a point to Costco ?

>>7691559
Tbh, you shouldn't be drinking anything but water.
>>
>>7695345
For bulk purchases. They're basically selling at near wholesale prices to the general public, provided you have a membership.

For small quantity purchases, it's usually cheaper to just go to a regular supermarket.
>>
>>7695521
Don't forget they give samples.
>>
>>7695094
Aldi stores here tend to be in or around the ghetto and look pretty trashy. I still shop there sometimes, but in some aspects, it's literally lower than Walmart.
>>
>>7695526
They give samples at regular supermarkets too.
>>
>>7695345
They've also created a subculture too. I think there was a documentary or series of articles on it. Besides food Costco does
>vacations
>auto service
>furniture
>camping/sports gear
>house and office supplies
>glasses and pharmacy
>some places even sell coffins
>sell tickets to sports events and concerts

All at a special discounted price

Some people are basically fan boys and only shop there. It's great for people who can budget well and like to do everything in one place.
>>
>>7695582
I would shop exclusively there, but they don't have a wide variety of produce, unfortunately.

I've been making sandwiches with ingredients mostly from Costco for a while. Not the healthiest but better than eating junk food.
Costco Ingredients:
- Kirkland cooked whole turkey breast (I take this home then cut and freeze it into sandwich portions and defrost when I need to)
- Kirkland Multigrain 100% Whole Wheat bread
- Romaine Lettuce
- Avocados
- Colby Jack Cheese
I also add onions and mayo but don't buy them at Costco.

Here just outside L.A. 1.75L of rum in about $15. I'll g et two of those to last me like two weeks :( (I have to share)
Bought a bag of the peeled garlic months ago. I keep it in my freezer and it's still more than half full, I find it's easier to chop thinly once it's been out of the freezer a minute. Easier to work with than fresh.
TO, paper towels, Kleenex always in bulk
Frozen cheese pizzas and I add my own toppings
Realized I used butter so I buy and freeze. I am amused by how big the bricks are.
Kirkland granola bars for the kids
Kirkland gummy snacks for the kids these last a long fucking time, but I only have me 1.5 kids.
30 pack of juice boxes for kids and spouse. (Pack lunches for spouse. Real juice, not punch)
The sleeve of frozen chicken patties seems to last usforevers.
I loved the baked goods, but you have to buy two at a time, and yes, it makes me feel like a fatty.
Meat whenever I feel not too lazy to divide and freeze.
I buy produce at the Hispanic markets because we can't go through it that fast.

Meanwhile, Costco is bright, shiny, active and packed and has a great return policy that includes electronics.
>>
>>7696460
>packed
The fucking old people that shop at costco are pretty annoying on a busy day, I guess not as bad as the inbred retards at walmart.
>return policy
It's crazy what they'll take back. My family bought a big screen TV and a couple years later the motherboard went bad in it. They sent a tech out to fix it and it broke again after a week. They just flat out replaced it with the newest model after that. Didn't have to opt for any sort of warranty when we bought it either. Back in the day ipods were at least $20 cheaper at costco than everywhere else including apple. Cracked the screen on mine and they replaced it.

Meanwhile at best buy I can't even get a store credit for a defective wireless keyboard/track pad that I bought 3 weeks ago.

I think the confusion is coming from the fact that there are two types of kirkland vodka. One is usually about $20-30 the other $10-20. I refuse to believe you got it for 6 bucks though unless it was on sale.

Non-perishibles

Their food is all average to bad. Remember it's where you go for bulk, not quality.

Them's flour tortillas though. You got me all exited till I realized that.

Does a big name greek yogurt company rebrand it for Kirkland?

Isn't a rotisserie chicken around $6?>>7694989
Jesus f'in christ, I'm in nyc and never see motorized carts even in large stores, unless it's an actual cripple in a wheelchair.
>>
>>7700959
It's 4.99 for a rotisserie chicken where I live. Pretty good deal, can't find raw ones for less at other stores. I think you can get a 2 pack of raw chickens at costco for $8-10 though.

do you go to school in Rochester? I work that Genesee Brewing, I can get that shit for free and I don't even drink it

you don't need a membership card to buy medicines or alcohol.

Just got back from shopping.

What I hate about Costco is when something I like goes away.

I had been buying the Kirkland brand whole artichoke hearts in water. Came in a 2 pack in glass jars. Now my store just has the standard marinated which I don't want all that oil on my artichoke hearts.

oh man thats thew worst. If you like near another costco somehow you can check there. The one i use to go to stopped selling kirkland brand green tea(its terrible but i love it so much) and i just went to another one and they had it. there is a possibility it could have bee sold out but when does costco sell out of a product
>>
>>7701880

We sell out of stuff all the time. Oftentimes our regional buying office will decide an item isn't profitable enough and stop selling it, just like anything else. It sucks when your product goes away, but it's really quite mathematical what consider profitable enough to sell in each building.
>>
>>7703738
Don't act like you work at costco fagget.
No real employee calls costco a "building" kill yourself
>>
>>7693293
$19.99 right now. Cheapest Gray Goose you'll ever buy
>>
>>7692744
They're not actually baby carrots.
>>
>>7703738
The Costco i work at stopped selling coffee filters like three years ago due to space issues, and every single person i tell that too when they ask where they are will immediately reply with "But you had them last time i was here!"

That sentence and "But you USED to have it" is a blight on my existence and i cant help but despise every member who utters it.

They sell corn tortillas in markets with high percentage of latino clientele.
