When we usually make grits, we make fried eggs and some bacon or ham on the side. What most people do is just mix up their eggs with the grits, I like to tear my bacon into bits and put that in there too.

Grits for me are cheese, rather than butter. You can mix in a scrambled egg but it's hard to make a billion tiny little grains taste good
