How can these places justify or exit selling combos at $9 or more on avg?

Isn't the point of these places to be cheap, quick and convenient, how is a $10 burger anything but a total ripoff?

Shits not even good, imho of course.
>>
Vote Bernie.
>>
>>7653450
There's hardly even any dollar menus, anymore.

I just stopped going altogether. It was never worth it for health or taste reasons, but now it's not even worth it for the price.

And in the time it takes for me to drive out there, wait in line, have to pull up and wait longer, and finally get the food only to realize they fucked it up, I could have made something at home.
>>
>>7653450
It's because of Capitalismâ„¢.
Capitalists will tell you that it's because of inflation and increased regulations on the agriculture and fast food industry.
>>
Gotta prepare for them $15 minimum wages, ya know?

>>
Because they fucking can, next thread?
>>
>>7653450
at some point they realized they don't have to be cheap anymore because people will buy it anyway because it's still quick and convenient

It's like you've never been to a price gouging convenience store in a neighborhood 20 minutes away from a real store
>>
>>7653571
It is literally because of inflation. The problem is that the people in charge of the policies that affect inflation don't give a shit about the common people, and additionally minimum wage does not rise with inflation. However, raising minimum wage will busy cause further inflation so what do you fucking do
>>
>>7653597
Dollar beyond worth less means they raise prices to get the Dame profit. Inflation will cause an increase in price level over time.
>>
the combos are bullshit. That's how they get you. Don't go for the combo.

Go to subway, and get the 6 inch sub. Get tuna, sriracha sauce, pepperjack cheese, chipotle sauce, lettuce, spinach, and bacon, on honey oat bread. The cost is 3 or 4 dollars. It's a good fucking meal, and yeah, it's none of the exciting shit you advertise, but it's better than that shit. Whenever you go to a restaurant you already know is shitty, your job is just to take the cheapest thing and figure out how to pimp it out.
>>
>>7653621
I'm guessing this is English, but I can't seem to understand what you said

did you notice how inflation always was reversed prior to 1933, and after it has only ever gone up?

and the charlatan ecomoists tell us inflation is good, heh
>>

Easy - they don't. You're either exaggerating, buying fancy shit like premium blended drinks and not accounting for it or living in a shithole like Canada.
>>
>>7653635

I don't want to turn this political, as I consider myself conservative, but you're wasting your vote with trump. Not only because he doesn't have a chance of winning, but because he won't get anything done. He's too much of a loudmouth with too many people on both sides ridiculing him. You have to be able to play ball to get any work done, and no one wants anything to do with him. People need to quit treating politics like a football game and rooting for their team regardless of circumstance.

Arent fast food places making more money each year?

With inflation or whatever the fuck are they making more or less than 20 years ago?

Like with movies. They say pirates were ruining them but arent they making billuons off of jyst one? And doesnt it keep growing? 20 bucks for a movie ticket really? And you.dont even make your bulk if money fron tuckets but snacks like 10 dollar popcorn? .
>>
>>7654534
In terms of gross revenue, yes, fast food places are making more money now than they did 20 years ago. However, with inflation and rising costs of production, they tend to rely on the volume of sales with a very slim profit margin. If their sales volume goes down, their profits also go down since the target demographic for fast food places tend to be poorer/cheap people who don't want to pay a lot for their meal.

Movie studios don't make money from concessions, that revenue goes to the movie theaters. Also, some movies do really well and make a lot of money, some are complete bombs and studios end up taking a loss.

I heard this same kind of talk with Romney. What you forget to realize is that there are more liberal voters than conservative, as was proven already. All you have to do is give the college kids and high school graduates enough of a reason to WANT to go out and vote, and that's the end of it. The hatred for trump is more than enough motivation to get people voting. But like I said, even if he wins, he won't be able to accomplish much in the Senate.

Mcd have had a machine that can make ANY mcd food or drink from inputs for a computer for a few years now. It preps, cooks, fries and makes anything on the menu. Replaces the cooks and cashiers entirely. Only 2 staff are needed to refill machine with fries and burger patties and other basic ingredients and keep it running smooth. It only needs power to work, everything from order to payment is done with the interface

They don't use it as the technology is too expensive in large numbers for thousands of stores. And the Human Resources issue of getting rid of over 80% of their work force in favor of machines. Lastly the problem is Americans. They are so backwards with technology that the ordering system is to complex for people to use.
>>
>>7655822
>They are so backwards with technology that the ordering system is to complex for people to use.

Its mostly the encouragement of the poor and uneducated, as well as immigrants.

I imagine machines might actually be easier than human interaction, though, because the above are given the option of picture menus to literally point at what they want, and grunt like a caveman to the cashier.

A screen that shows you pictures, and you just literally touch the image you want and it immediately dispenses your burger and fries further perpetuates the lazy fast food attitude/environment/patrons.

is it treason to import people in order to disenfranchise your country's voters and skew the peoples vote?
>>
>>7656263
Do you even know what treason means? no, i don't believe it was treasonous.

Those immigrants have minds of their own, and while I don't know an actual number, i can attest that some immigrants are die-hard republicans. Some immigrants come here because of the possibilities, and they would indeed want to "keep America great". I can understand that you're mad at a potentially large punch to your pride, but they barely make a dent.
>>
>>7656289
>Do you even know what treason means?

>Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aiding or involved by such an endeavor.

importing people who overwhelmingly vote for your party is overthrowing the governement

>I can understand that you're mad at a potentially large punch to your pride, but they barely make a dent.

not even the other guy, but the lack of any real moderates has been hurting america since the late 90's. We neither need free stuff nor do we need to further reduce taxes and build a wall, so much as we have to enforce current legislation/regulations and try booting business interests from politics since their money consistently creates conflicts of interest in American politics. If in Nigeria a member of the energy committee were given campaign money by an oil exploration company with the understanding that the politician is to lesson the scrutiny of regulation for drilling, and give tax breaks for said drilling, then we would likely see it as bribery; but in America this is a fairly regular occurrence. To be clear I also think government subsidies for agriculture is messed up since they ought to compete fairly in a global market.

I don't see why people wouldn't agree with this

the left want to swamp the country with foreignors who vote for them, the right want cheap labor to drive down wages, and certain tribes want to make Whites into dwindling minorities in their own countries

i think the first mistake people make is thinking that the left and right wings aren't on the same bird

absolutely money should not buy influence, and anyone who tries should be locked up

which is why trump is so awesome, despite having been part of the influence buying, he has enough that he can't be bought, not perfect, but not a puppet either, which you can't say about any of the other candidates. at least we have a 50-75% chance he won't fuck us ocer, when shillary will 100% fuck us over. even boasted about shutting down coal mines and putting miners out of work, then lied to their faces to try and get their votes, not to mention the dozens and dozens of scandals of the clintons, and the bushes. evil

I'm sorry I should have been clearer, I meant to say that the strawman applying to individuals at least seems incorrect, particularly with regard to the videos. By the same logic one would be exempt from performing any and all legal and civic duties by the virtue of an improper addressing of a person's name or the inclusion of an honorific, even though it's by no means a western conception. I am personally of the opinion that corporations are indeed legally distinct entities, yet I do not believe they should be given the same rights as persons, nor should the decision makers be exempt from the consequences of their decisions on the basis that the action was performed by the corporation.

I hope that was at least a little clearer.
>>
>>7656582
you stated your beliefs, but not what the reality is

corporations ARE persons, check a legal dictionary

you DO have a strawman, it's not just the honorific that ties you to your strawman. why do yo think whenever you are stopped by police they demand ID? and if you give them a paper ID, they require you to acknowledge that it is you?

and the most important point. even though they require ID whenever they stop you, once you go to court, they NEVER ask for your ID.

research the legal term "joinder"

finally, is there a difference between "legal" and "lawful"? if so, why the two words?

"should" yeah, opinions don't trump reality
>>
>>7656582
also, ask yourself the question, why are legal dictionaries needed if laws are written in english?

unless legalese is a languiage that sounds like english, but isn't, and all laws are written in it, hence requiring its own dictionary

>and certain tribes want to make Whites into dwindling minorities in their own countries
This is racist tribalism at its finest. Feminism made victimhood claiming socially acceptable to the point where men are starting to believe they get that ticket too. This false victimhood complex is then used to justify the mistreatment and resentment towards the "other" in an attempt to claim higher social status for himself with no effort put in on his part. This is a childish western obsession of wanting to be born king and feeling entitled to having the "other" acknowledge it, then feeling aggrieved when they don't automatically give you social deference.

We're the ones using the threat of military conquest to coerce the entire globe, terrorizing entire continents and you think "they" are "winning"? Holy shit...
/pol/ makes you this retarded. It allows people who victimize others to rationalize this mistreatment into some imaginary scenario where they "deserve it."
>>
>>7656621
I am aware of the current legal status of corporations, my point was that it is not permanently set in stone and the legal definition may one day reflect a better reality that more accurately reflects the function of a corporation. As for the request for ID it makes sense as a matter of course to ensure that they are able to record the interaction. The confirmation being a necessity because false ID's do exist, and so it binds one by their assurance that the ID is in fact yours, that the information on the ID is varfyied as representing true information about you. I truthfully cannot answer why in court you would not be asked for ID's, perhaps because legal council would represent you in your stead anyway? but that is just speculation. In truth I lack experiences in court or much formal knowlege to back that claim. I do not believe I used the word lawful, but rather legal, and legally distinct, wherein I used legal in the usage "I have a legal obligation resulting from a contract" and legally distinct in the sense "The Museum is legally distinct from the institution that funds it" >>7656651
While I agree there is much that could be done to clarify legal language, I believe that the amount of unique terms does necessitate a legal dictionary for the same reasons that a dictionary of chemistry exists, more as a reference than as a distinct language.

Sorry it took so long, but I had to think through many of these answers, I'm more than slightly drunk and it's getting late where I am. I hope this is sufficient

are there any countries where Whites are not projected to become dwindling minorities due to foreign immigration?
>>
>>7656697
I'm glad that you spent some time thinking about it

my point about legal v lawful, wasn't that you used either term, but that there are two terms that apparently mean the same thing, but do they?

>it is not permanently set in stone
might aswell be, how is it going to be changed if 99% of the population doesn't even know about it?

>The confirmation being a necessity because false ID's do exist, and so it binds one by their assurance that the ID is in fact yours
did you reasearch "joinder"?

the action binds the real flesh you to the strawman birth cetificate

while I'm on the subject, isn't it strange that a new person is berthed from their mothers waters, witnessed by a dock-tor

and if taken to court has to stand in the "dock"?

the "banks" of the river control the "currentsea"

are they casting spell(ing)s?

when it comes to lawyers, beware. their first responsibility is to the BAR association, THEN to the court, and finally to you, a distant third.

in court the judge is payed for by the state, as is the prosecutor, and in most cases the defense lawyer too. they all know eachother, and your interests come last

> I believe that the amount of unique terms does necessitate a legal dictionary for the same reasons that a dictionary of chemistry exists, more as a reference than as a distinct language.
fair enough, but if you read a legal dictionary, such as blacks law 4th edition, you will find that the terms "may" and "must" have been reversed in legalese. a bit sneaky huh?

perhaps chemistry could be classed as a separate language too, if it needs its own dictionary, except that the laws of chemistry bind us naturally, whilst the "laws" of legalese are actually only applied by consent, except they trick us into consent

do you remember the "miranda"? "bla bla right to silence but anything may be taken down and used against you, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

and when they ask if you understand, they really mean do you STAND UNDER(my authority)

I'm afraid It's hard to take you seriously when you do these word games, simply because I probably deserve to have been trolled this hard. But I do like thinking, and you certainly do provide a way for me to think through things. If it was bait all along, I'm both impressed and at least glad I was thinking through reasoning rather than impotently being butt blasted.

>With inflation and a constant interest rate

The interest rate is compensated by inflation, meaning your loan is practically cheaper (since the same amount of money is becoming worth less)

>No inflation and a constant interest rate

Your loan grows at a somewhat exponential rate, unless you pay the interest. The amount of money stays the same.

>With negative inflation (or deflation) and a constant interest rate.

Even if you pay the interest, your loan keeps growing since the amount of money that is in it becomes worth more over time.

Mate, just stick to cooking. Small amounts of inflation is what's necessary to keep the economy going.

This is how much food this guy can get with $5 in Colombia:

People decide this market, and people have been incredibly stupid when it comes to their eating habits. Unless we like to pretend a man really does find it more convenient to go to McDonalds and spend $8 on a meal rather than travel a block further for the real thing for two bucks less, we are in a position to do something about it.
>>
>>7653477
Dollar menus say more about how overpriced the other menu items are rather than about how cheap a squished burger really is. I'm not saying $1 isn't a good price, I'm saying $5 for a few minor additions is a terrible price. McDonald's latest response to declining sales is to add a giant Big Mac. That's how disturbingly detached they are from what people want.

More like there isn't. I got all hyped when McDonalds came out with the 2 for $2 which still forced you to spend $2 when before if you only had $1 in your pocket you could still pop in and get a McDouble to go. Sadly the 2 for $2 lasted about a month before the replaced it with the pricyer 2 for $5. Sure the the burgers are bigger but I'm looking to save money not eat better. If i wanted the pricyer BIGGER burger I would have just bought the pricyer big burger.

Hows life back in 2005 anon?

Because thats the last time I've seen a combo meal at McDonalds or Burger King for around $5.

The Whopper meal at BK is like $6.49 or more plus tax
McDonalds Big Mac combo is around $6. 53 aswell

There are combo meals on their menus now that reach $8 to $9 and they don't come with any thing fancy. Just a burger, fries and drink.

God help your if you go to Wendy's. Their prices will ass rape you and leave you for dead. I think the cheapest combo meal at Wendy's starts at $7.83.

I get coupons sent to my house nearly everyday for everything imaginable. Jack in the Box 2 for 5. Carls Jr 2 for 5. All types of buy one get one. The Chinese spot near my house actually has buy one plate get one coupons. That's 2 days worth of food right there. Use coupons.

>>7654432
My Arbys has a ton of good coupons. Buy 1 get one chicken sandwich and other shit. That new bourbon sandwich is 2 for 5 with coupons.

On topic, I live in dumfuckistan komiefornia that recently passed the $15 minimum wage bullshit.

This state is already so hostile and unforgiving to new/small businesses I can't understand the reasoning behind approving something like this.

In addition to bankrupting a lot of small businesses, it's going to make everything much more expensive, including fast food.

They plan on slowly raising it 1$ per year until 2022 or some shit.. but the end results will be the same. It'll just creep up instead of hit you like a brick wall.

So the fact that a $9 combo that comes with a stale burger that's been sitting under a heat lamp for half a day will soon be around 13-14 is just more incentive to give up ever eating fast food again.
