Best dish for a handful of green beans other than sauteeing?
Sous vide
Wrap bunches of them in bacon! Super tasty.
Watch out, OP. I think there might be a spider hiding under those.
Steam super-quick then chill for snackums.

it's just personal preference. string beans like in the OP have a thickness and texture that i personally find displeasing. you DO know the difference between a french bean and a string bean, right?

Stir-fry with garlic, ginger, green chili. Add japanese soy sauce to finish. Deep fried oyster mushroom to add crunch. Vegetarian best seller at fancy place. Dead easy, delicious.

it's actually pronounced 'the game'
Off the top of my head:
Green beans stewed in garlic-y tomato sauce.
Green beans in soufflé (a lot easier than you think, and actually a heavy part of my culture's mid-spring diet).
Green beans in egg curry (usually done with yardlong beans, but I notice no difference in taste between green beans and yardlong beans, tbqh).
Use green beans in place of celtuce in cumin-pork/chicken recipes (though that's technically sautéing).
Green beans in oyster sauce (or mushroom sauce if you're vegemuhtarian; actually, just go mushroom sauce because it's tastier than oyster; this is also technically a sautéed dish, though).
Green beans oven roasted in olive oil or lard (or better yet: duck/goose fat) with shallots and slivered almonds. Makes a great side dish to any roast.
Green bean chowder (I've never made one and it might sound weird to you, but I cook chowders pretty often and haven't found one thing yet that makes a poor choice for chowder).
I use green beans, sweet peas, lima beans or fava beans in chicken stew or chicken pot pie.
Paella de verduras.
Green bean pilaf (polo lubia sabz).
Buttered green beans with crisp-fried onions.
Blanch for use in a mixed bean salad.

Just as yardlong beans, I don't notice much a difference between Frenched green beans and American string beans. Is there really one?

Achards de légumes.

Toast some sliced almonds in your skillet, set aside, saute green beans, add almonds, turn down heat, add some honey, mix well for a light coating.
I think my wife steams them then tosses with some olive oil and into a pan for a short time. My first ex wife would just boil them forever too long and they were nasty. My second ex wife would put them in a crock pot with ham hock and sugar for hours and they were disgusting. I like the way my new wife does them.
