>>7587405
What the fuck is meme vinegar?
>>7587421
Malt vinegar, I assume.
I'm guessing OP is a pathetic lonely fat loser.
Anyone with any type of life would not waste as much time with this bullshit as you do.
But whatever keeps you from killing yourself...
>>7587426
Is there some sort of hot new meme about malt vinegar I haven't become aware of? Do we hate it like siracha now?
>>7587421
>>7587472
i was making a joke because the only malt vinegar i could find came labeled like british pub stuff its in the pic, i just thought it was goofy, and it smells just like balsalmic, no offense british people or meme people
>>7587469
its honestly not much more effort than just lurking or shitposting, obviously you wouldnt think im cooking food just for you anon, that would be crazy to think that right? I appreciate your feedback tho thx

Oven ribs can be great.
I'm gonna do some ribs hopefully later this week. Will post pics here if that's okay.
>>7587282
Forever.
Remember.
If the noun ends in "o", then add "es" to make it plural.
Mostly you will find it here:
Potato
Potatoes
Tomato
Tomatoes
Don't confuse it with your "toes", which are the digits which should exist at the end of your feet.
Those are toes, plural of "toe".

I have a rack of babyback ribs I've been too lazy to make so I'm sort of following your lead, OP, with temp and time. Cut in half to fit the baking dish. Some beer, worcestershire and teriyaki for moisture. A light sprinkling of Old Bay and McCormick Cuban seasoning & Cajun seasoning. Covered it with foil. I'll finish it with a slathering of Sweet Baby Ray's. (i could do better but that's the sauce in the fridge, so i'm using it up)
Beer of choice is Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale.

>>7587399
Man. I'd like to do some frying once in a while, but I don't know what to do with all the oil afterwards.
>>7603956
I have a designated pot for frying and I just keep it filled with oil in the oven. But I have a lot of extra pots.
What you could also do is wait for the oil to cool and then pour the oil into jars and save it for the next time you fry, or even just keep using it as regular oil. The oil stays good for much longer than people realize. I could probably recycle the same fryer oil, I'd say, 20 times, depending on what I was frying. And I'd probably throw it out because of flavor more than because the oil was old or burnt.
You could save jars from things like tomato sauce or pickles you buy from the grocery store. Or even just pour it back into the oil jug.
>>7603948

How old are you? Are you OP? Your hands look very young. I was under the impression that OP is older. And has less delicate hands.
Burgs just about done.

Not OP. I'm 25 but I think it might be the lighting in that pic making my hands look younger. Also I don't have much arm hair.

went to some place called spindletop brewery yesterday, was under the impression it was a gastropub, it was not, they just happened to have a guy there grilling. Me and my friend ordered the "wagyu beef burger" for $9 which was already suspicious, we sit there and i watch him grill the patties for 20-30 MINUTES, after like 15 minutes I am literally sperging out but my friend seemed to have faith in this guy. finally he gives us a seriously overcooked burger with unmelted cheddar and a cold walmart bun, plain and dry, they had a small condiments bar, one of the worst burgers Ive ever had didnt even take a pic, no fries or anything, beer was decent but will probably not go back
>>7605776
Sorry got occupied. Here's Egg placement. It went into the oven at 375 for 8 minutes
>>7605925
Sauce should be a little more reduced IMO. And you can just cook the eggs by putting the lid on top and leaving it for 10-15 mins. Otherwise looks tasty. Did you use za'atar and cumin?
>>7605925
And here it is all done, delicious and hearty but I'll be dicing the veggies finer next time and leaving it in the oven shorter so it comes out runnier
>>7602526
Mah brethren of African descent. I just did the same.
>>7605973
Bread and cheese to accompany
>>7605966
Yeah that occurred to me after, the oven did help with further dehydrating the sauce though
>>7586931
I regret not saving every OP pic you've posted
>>7605986
You used full tomatos or canned stuff?
>>7605986
Yeah I can see it. IIRC it takes about 40-45mins to cook the sauce properly then another 10-15mins for the eggs, so it's a 1 hour dish basically. It means you don't get that liquid you got in the bottom of the pan and the whole sauce is bound a bit better. Try crumbling feta and throwing some chopped parsley over it, just when it's done cooking. This is a good recipe to follow

I have a vertical drum smoker so not that big all things considered. It can fit 8 racks of ribs if they are hung.

ok this is really all you need to make some dank fettucini alfredo, you could drop or add a few things to taste, this is the first actual thing i ever cooked before, i decided i wanted to learn to cook stuff i really like and this was like my fav dish at the time
>>7608172
I smoked them for 4 or 5 hours, sort of last track of time because I was drinking, but I still managed to pull them at 200 to let carry over heating finish them to 203. I live an apartment too, its just that I have a backyard to my unit so that is where my smoker is.
>>7608284
bruh you blazed rn?
>>7607001
Thank you for your service.
preppin, chop parsley and garlic
grate parm and peel and de-poopify the shramps
tossed the shrimp in some olive oil, chili powder, lawrys and a bit of the minced garlic, tossing them on a hot grill pan to hopefully get a bit of sear but they cook fast so it is what it is
sauteing some of the butter with garlic to get it semi cooked, i like the shit out of some garlic so this will vary with taste
add some more butter then i add heavy cream and pepper and spices
now i be adding the grated parm little by little stirring it a bunch, when its hot it will look thinner than when its on the plate so you gotta try not to go full retardo with the cheese
strain that pasta, i go a bit longer than al dente but its not mush by far
alright got the sauce where i want tastes good, chunk dem shimp and some frersh parsley in and let it sit just enough to get the shrimp warmed back up
throw the noodles in with the sauce and lightly toss it in the pan for a bit and ta da
bretty good yall

Bratwurst dip shit, it says so right on the package and given that he said he got them from Aldis you can assume it is Aldis brand. Jesus how thick are you?
>>7610088
>but.what.kind
>buys things from Aldis
Gee I dont know fuckwit.
>>7610108
Well once again we can use our powers of basic deduction. The OP said he went shopping at Aldis, each packaged food item in the picture has the Aldis brand name on it, so therefore it stands to reason that the brats, purchased at Aldis, are also Aldis brand.
Logic, what is it and how does it work?

Not the same guy, but I'd love a list like that. I'm South East of Houston in a small town.
>>7611218

>>7611313
I just scrolled through the first page and I see that the autist is back. A bit of backstory for you.
The OP was cooking a recipe a few weeks ago and I asked him what kind of sausages he was using, this caused some sperg to autism out and has been trying to force it into a meme for weeks.
I don't even see how me asking what types of sausages in a single question is even meme worthy. It's fucking sad more than anything.
>>7611328
Yeah I ask what type of sausages you used once a few weeks ago and it triggered the ever loving fuck out of someone that they are trying to force it as a meme.
Ignore the cunt.
This isn't a kind of sausage however. Before you he spergs out pretending to be me some more.
>>7610120
Nothing in that image is an Aldi branded product. Those sausages aren't what Aldi branded Bratwursts look like, the packaging is completely different.
This is what Aldi brand Bratwursts look like.
>>7611614
I'm going to be honest I was drunk last night when I asked that. Then more sausage autists continued it.

Thanks a ton anon! I can't wait to try these places. I get up to westheimer with some regularity, so I'm in luck. You rule.
There's a biscuit-centered restaurant that just opened on westheimer recently that's pretty good- I had a biscuit there with chicken tikka masala on it. Check it out if weird biscuits sounds appealing, pretty varied menu

>>7613465
? you can find good food anywhere in Houston regardless of the neighborhood, who gives a shit if it's in Montrose...
>>7613542
I kid. I lived in Montrose for a few years and left because it turned into an overpriced meme, I'm still just a little bitter about rent going up $100 yearly. There are some good places to eat there.
>>7613546
Yeah, the rent drove out a lot of the interesting places to eat there too - there was a shitty Italian place I used to go in Montrose that made the only panzerotti I could find in Houston. I dont know of any places now.
>>7613307
Yeah, I been to Aladdin a few times. It's pretty good, I hardly go over to montrose unless I'm going to Anvil or something, though.

ok I personally have all these bookmarked on my google maps which was a pain in the dick but so far has proven useful when youre out in a random place and want to try something different, if you like beer and burgers I must urge you toi try moontower inn its probably one of my fav spots in houston, really nice after doing a tour at one of the brewerys like st arnolds, karbach, buffalo bayou, etc.
>>7614361
Any recommendations for pho? I've been going to pho yen in Friendswood, and they're pretty good, looking for really good though.
>>7614375
honestly I dont eat pho really, growing up in this humid hot place has kind of turned me off to hot soup dishes, there are a lot of good vietnamese places up veterans memorial dr that i go to for banh mi and vermacelli bowls tho, might be a good place to look on your quest
also anyone with any additions to this list that you feel stand out from normie places please post and ill add to my list, i usually repost this in any houston or tx thread with interest
>>7614371
I always recommend Tiger Den to people that want to stand in line.
Teppay has some legit Japanese food. It's usually pretty high on my list.
Kaneyama and Koto ain't bad, either.
>>7614361
Nobi public house is stellar, and their beer selection is overwhelming. It's wonderful.
Cuisine of India by NASA is also very high quality- go at lunchtime on a weekday and they have a buffet set up, so you can get everything.
House of pies is worthy of it's reputation- their Monte cristo sandwich is heavenly, and of course the pie is great.
Tradiçao Brazilian steakhouse is overpriced as fuck
Dimassi's Mediterranean is closed- best Mediterranean in the area is Wael's on bay area
Jinya ramen bar is nice, you can get a really good bowl of ramen and they have good priced sake, as well as a friendly staff
Thai cottage is totally forgettable- conversely, Thai Seafood on NASA is
absolutely stunning.
>>7614375
That place is good!
I don't usually order pho but there's a couple of very similar restaurants that come to mind- Sesame house in dickinson is good, and there's a hole-in-the-wall sort of spot that is next to Hong Kong food market on Scarsdale- it's not coming up on Google maps though, and I can't remember the name. Super helpful, right? Scarsdale and beamer, about 3 businesses down the strip from Hong Kong food market.
I have also heard absolutely incredible things about the pho at Nobi public house at hw 3 and NASA- "ruined all other pho for me", but they only serve it sundays, and it's first come first served til they run out

Am I missing a joke here?
>>7611644
>Nothing in that image is an Aldi branded product.
Yes almost everything in the picture that is packaged was bought from Aldis in the US. They even sell that Arizona ice tea here in Aldis stores as well.
>>7615209
Yeah everything in that pic was Aldi, the Arizona were 49 cents a piece
>>7614371
Did you ever get over to tierra caliente? I think I recommended it to you, I used to live a few minute walk away. I went there a ton.
>>7614842
Nice, thaks man. I'll check those out.

>>7621037
Now we are n the order of months and you are still trying to force this as a meme? It's getting sad at this point.
>>7619116
Moldy bread doesn't actually make you sick. Don't ask me how I know but it involves poor, Southern relatives.
>>7614375
try pho saigon in midtown, it's really good and has the additional benefit of being cheap
>>7622449
>Tfw the taqueria arandas near me closed
Life is hard
>>7587269

Just went to Huynh restaurant last night, was the best vietnamese food I've had in a long time.
Hey OP, you ever drink anything by Dogfish Head? If so, what are your thoughts? They any good or should I not believe the hype?
>>7614361
>Aladdin's
Ate here recently, cafeteria-style, very good. Baba ganouj wasn't as good as wael's near NASA, though.

>>7628406
looks dank man, making me pretty hungry, what cheese?
i will drop a few pics from yesterday, first a friend came by we had some beer and went to a taco truck, salsa is mad spicy
then we went and scooped up another friend and went to the crawfish festival in old town spring, my friend copped out after a pound so i ate about 5 lbs of crawfish, very spicy shit was good
we all came back to my place, fed kitties, more beer and dabs and then we went to the 24 hour shipleys across the street and ate too many donuts, then i kicked everyone out and passed out
RIP turbo
Homemade shrimp tacos. Getting some mileage out of this deep fryer.
those look good you make the tortillas? they look muy athentico son
>>7592287
>Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale.
good choice m8
>>7628543
nah, bought them from Trader joes actually... saying homemade was misleading, my bad. i just made the slaw, and battered/fried the shramps.
Pretty good tortillas though, i didnt check the package and they all had a rip to the center, made eating those tacos pretty hard...
>>7628461
>what cheese?
this creamy blue one plus some cheddar inside, and more cheddar on top. can't go wrong with a good cheddar. was tasty af t b h
>>7628461
We should be friends irl desu

>Uchi
God tier, go there once a year for my birthday. Worth it for appetizers alone. Definitely try the karaage and jar jar duck.
>Cafe East 2
Not bad, was my go to buffet in Katy for a long time, but I prefer E-Star these days.
>Original Marini's Empanada House
This isn't the "original" location, the same people reopened it. I used to go to the one in Katy a lot and they're great people, knew my name and usual order, always good.
>Asian Too in Katy Mills Mall
wew lad I avoided this one like the plague after I got the worst case of the shits. If you're going to the food court in Katy Mills try the wraps place, get some buffalo chicken wrap.
>El Real
Top tier Mexican, like the building (former movie theater), the enchilada with fried egg is best
>Izakaya-wa
This is so close to where I work I keep meaning to pop by after work some night but haven't had a chance
Btw for Japanese food definitely give Nippon on Montrose and Matsusaka on Westheimer a try.
Congrats on surviving the floods.
>>7632761
Man, I used to live right around the corner from Matsusaka.
I would not recommend.
>>7631935
Make refried beaners m8
>>7614326
Poor Turbo :(
>>7633013
good night sweet prince
gonna make a quick burger before work
like 1/2 patty
>>7635698
that's some serious fat content on that grind, r u that poor?
>>7635715
im sorry you do not no how burgers work m8, take notes
I did not get to the bun baking so i am improvising and making my first luther burger
making a little condiment with dukes, sriracha and some local ghost pepper sauce we got at the crawfish festival
sizzle my nizzle
skipped some steps cuz i was busy, but yeah made bacon and a fried egg, warmed the donuts a bit in the skillet
bonus drippy egg shot, was good, had to go take a shower afterwards i could never eat this in public, the donuts were shipleys which are good but not really built for this like a krispy creme
>>7635743
Did you add oil to cook a burger in?
>>7635761
i rub the patti with olive oil and put a bit or sunflower oil in the pan but most of that is the fat melting off, the fatty meat is so that the burger doesnt dry out too fast while cooking
>>7635773
Bruh the oil in the pan (and patty) is not necessary but I am a fan of sunflower oil in cast iron too.
>>7635791
the oil in the pan may not be but i like to put a little in ther while im heating my pan cuz electric burners are shit and i dont want to burn my season off if i get distracted
the olive oil on the patty is something ive just done for a long time, people always complient my burgers and i cook them at family events sometimes, it helps them not to stick to the grill and i like the flavor, might not be necessary but its just a habit
I dunno why I'm so bad at visualising how much potato I need. I always make way more than needed
>>7636453
looks bretty gud
>>7590698
It's a fucking lake in Houston, property has been destroyed, assets have been lost, I doubt the police are concerned with people getting high right now lol.
>>7636453
There's no such thing as "too much potto"
>>7638178
>>7638237
Thanks, I'm happier with today's ratio tho
>>7638472
your fries look a lot less limp and better cooked this time
>>7590541
Woah! dank meme
>>7638629
yeah, i used half a potato instead of a full one so the oil temp probably didnt drop nearly as much.
>>7638709
Are you frying them twice? It makes a huge difference
>>7638815
yeah a couple minutes at 325, let them cool for a bit, then fried for 4-5 min at 375 with the fish
>>7638844
If you like them crispier, I would fry them longer in the initial fry at around 325-350 4-5 minutes, and then 2-3 minutes with the fish
>>7635823
I'm in space city. I know a great Japanese spot for sashimi. Want to go? It's in the loop. If ya want to go, we can figure out a way schedule it.
>>7639947
Are you asking OP out on a date?
what kind of work do you do? im by 249
>>7586931
Wait wait let me get this straight.
You bought about 5 tall cans of pbr? At 1.50(low end) even. Thats 7.50 enpugh for a twelve pack you fucking idiot.
>>7640167
Some people just want to watch the world burn...
>>7640177
Your dubs speak truth
>>7640167
looks to me like a six pack of pint cans, which runs around $4.99 in my neck of the woods
>>7640198

hello, op
gonna be in burleson for a week
what are some good texas beers to try?
>>7646751
>burleson
I looked that up its near dallas, honestly i would just find a place with a selection of beer and try whatever is local, most the local brews dont travel far, looks like a place called Old Texes Brewing Co is a bar restaurant with decent beer on tap Id start there and ask the bartender. We have a lot of good houston beers but i dont know that you can find it there, if they have a specs maybe you find some buffallo bayou, karbach, st arnolds, 8th wonder?? those are some of my favs
>>7646775
thanks for the advice
i'll send a hearty skol your way on my first drink
>>7646747
Man. I wish somebody would trap the fucking cats here.
The dude in the apt across from mine has I don't know how many, and he leaves his door open all day.
So his cats attract all the rest of the fucking strays.
They like to chill outside my windows and door and meow and screech all day and night, especially when I'm trying to sleep.
