I once read that someone asked wendy's owner dave thomas why his patties were round and not square.

He replied: "We don't cut corners on quality"

It's easier to manufacture. They can give you more for the same price because it cuts way down on manufacturing costs because they can constantly produce it on sheets without having to worry about excess dough or toppings because of the shape.

my grocery store stopped carrying these couple months ago (stater bros) i wonder if it was as they moved to the bag.

I honestly get these alot, they are pretty decent and like $1 on sale alot.
