That was my dinner tonight actually, I get it from a small Italian restaurant. Not messy at all, all ingredients are perfectly ratio'd. Meaty, cheesy, saucy, bready, and somehow manages to be both crunchy and chewy at the same time. I know what you mean though, I've had a bunch of messy ones.

I really love grilled vegetable paninis.

Like, grilled eggplant, grilled onions, roasted red peppers, tomato, mozzarella, pesto, and maybe even some broccoli rabe, all on a nice hot pressed panini.

A restaurant I used to go to made one and I can still taste occasionally, it was so good.

I approve of this post. Also if I'm in the mood a nice meatball sub or french dip hits the spot. Maybe a brisket/cheddar/horseradish too. Do burgers kind of count as sandwiches? Italian beef and philly cheesesteak are pretty bomb. Corned beef or pastrami and hot mustard with onions definitely up there. Carolina pulled pork too.

Fuck I just like sandwiches. Best one I ever had without a doubt was a pambazo made by my girls abuela, though. I've been chasing the dragon ever since.
