BBQ thread?
Did a shoulder of lamb for dinner, just about to carve it.
Here's it before I put it on. Seasoned with rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper.

Letting it rest. I don't have an internal thermometer, so I hope it's done properly.

Christ, dude. Wtf are you doing??
>>
>>7537251
He's a BBQ clueless Ausfag.
They claim they know all about BBQ but all they really know is how to cook a shit quality sausage on a gas grill while drinking sub-par beer.

Sorry mates, didn't have access to anything else.
Came out perfect though.
>>
>>7537265
Slightly under, dog.
I admire your honesty mate and for that reason I won't save the images.
Get a meat thermometer mate, even a shitty Bunnings one.
And get some lump charcoal, if you're in Brisbane I can point you in the right direction
>>
>>7537268
looks fine to me
>>
>>7537268
Melbourne, I'm still experimenting. There's a few places that sell big bags of lump, but I haven't got the room to store it.
>>
>>7537260
I'm taking your shrimp of the fucking barbie mate.
>>
>>7537276
>shrimp
>of
You're an Ausfag, that's for sure.
>>
>>7537227
Good OC contribution ausbro. Would put meat in mouth. Briquettes are nasty though, but I guess you don't have charcoal in Australia. 7/10 would make lamb sandwich.
>>
Vaporwave roast?
>>
>>7537227
all I would do is keep the bone in so I could make a nice dark stock and double the rosemary-
get 2 inch spears and jam them with slivers of garlic-into holes made with a paring knife
>>
>>7537260
>They claim they know all about BBQ
no we don't, most don't know what a closed wood fired BBQ is. we enjoy grilling meat (or things resembling meat) while drinking rum, beer or cheap wine
>>
>>7537295
You can't really but it in stores, which is really inconvenient. But there are a few people that make it.
For other Australians ITT, what kind of lump should I be looking for?
>>
Hey op, that's not a bad effort, for you Yanks he is using heat beads which aren't chemically treated for ignition, they are basically compressed charcoal, I use them on my offset for low and slow, no its not lump charcoal but its a damn good fuel, awesome for minion and snake method also.
Back to the lamb, you needed more heatbeads in there mate, don't be afraid to surround the fucker, the standard heats beads will light of each other also after time, so just put some more around the heated ones next time. If you were going for rare, nice work, if you like it medium then yeah some more time was needed. Don't be afraid to make some anchovies in there next time too, taste fucken beautiful, you on your way to doing a lamb gyros mate, lamb should, marinated in lemon juice, oregano, tomato and capsicum, basted with lemon juice and olive oil whilst on the spit
>>
>>7537316
big brick sized jarrah does me well for the long roasts
maybe one in each basket of the weber
for regular grilling I'll use thin banksia logs

but I've never bought any- would recommend trying making your own
>>
>>7537321
Thanks mate, I am using heat beads.
I always get worried I'm using too many beads, they get bloody hot. I'll probably use my Weber next time, it's a lot easier to cook in.
>>
>>7537265
The center is raw. Can't you ausfags even cook meat to the point of rare?
>>
>>7537251
>100% chemical free
>chemical charcoal
what is wrong with you?
>>
>>7537227
Daddy England here, throwing in my tuppence worth.

Nice bit of Lamb there OP, I would have studded it with more Rosemary and the end result looked a bit underdone for me but good on ya!

Our BBQ season in Britain is pretty short and the price of Lamb shot up after Chernobyl ( I'm not joking) . . .maybe after Brexit we can start trading with the Kiwis again, for cheaper lamb.

Nothing beats spit-roast lamb.
>>
>>7537414
>100% chemical free
I want this meme to die. The only thing that's 100% chemical free is the vacuum of space.
>>
>>7537460
Thanks gramps. I was running low on rosemary and couldn't be bothered going to the store. It could have stayed on a bit longer but it was getting late and I was hungry.
I don't know how you Brits deal with the weather. How often do you get sunny days?
>>
>>7537500
>How often do you get sunny days?
The problem is, it's unpredictable. It might be nice during the week but at the week-end it could piss-down with rain, or blow a gale, so it's hard to plan . . . .Late July, August and September seem to be the most stable though.
>>
>>7537487
Chemtrails evaporate into space as well as the crops and water, nowhere is safe.
>>
>>7537500
We deal with it by migrating to Australia. Perth here.

How the fuck do you run low on rosemary, I can see 10 rosemary hedges with a stones throw of my house.
>>
>>7537487
>as you can see by my pointless pedantery, I'm a real scientist!
>>
>>7537227
lamb is the best meat. how long did it take on the spit?
