If you had a food stand downtown in a big city during a huge festival, what would you be selling out of it?

I would probably do something flashy and entertaining like a third world style open flame grill and make cheapo omelettes for $2 a piece right in front of peoples faces, and do overly exaggerated hand gestures while cooking to make it seem more difficult than it really is.

It obviously depends on the city.

Bánh mì is quick to make and popular as fuck right now, so that'd be my first choice.

Nobody where I live would would go to a festival type thing and buy a fucking omelette, even for $2, and if they did they wouldn't wait for you to make each one individually.

Otherwise, sushi rolls that can be made in advance. Everybody loves sushi, and being able to prepare everything in advance is huge.

I would sell ice cream and obscure SEA candy. The local urchins would nick-name me Charlie. If you asked me for a chicken sandwich, I would try and sell you bootleg ciggies. Then, if you said, "no, really, I want a chicken sandwich," I would reveal my stash of dank edibles. If you continued to insist on a chicken sandwich, I would progress through mixtapes, doujinshi, and Yu Gi Oh cards before holding firm at turkey legs, more from my unwillingness to go on than my inability.
