Asian Pear Thread

Ive eaten them raw and I believe I've eaten them as part of a soup. Iirc

>sliced asian pears
(They are a starched based fruits, so you may want bigger chunks)
>chicken
>ginger
>salt and pepper
>wedged tomatoes
>fish sauce to taste
>onions

Boil until pears soften and chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve with rice (preferably Jasmine long grain).

I believe you can replicate this with apples, but lighter varieties are preferred (granny smiths may be too sour). You can also add other veggies such as peas, carrots, and water chestnuts for a more filling meal.

I'd probably cook the chicken separate and add it to the soup: salmonella scares me. That or it'd be a 'Campbell & Pear' soup

I only eat them raw but they are the GOAT pear, nothing else compares (as long as you take off the skins)
