Is there anything wrong with instant rice?

It's not as good as regular rice.

I prefer instant rice instead of parboiled when I can't restock on those big-boy bags of the persian stuff.
The only way you can fuck up rice is adding garlic, though. Say a prayer for Hispanics everywhere.

Boil in a Bag rice is the worst. Takes half as long to cook as regular rice, but it never sticks together and is an asshole to get out of that mesh bag.
I prefer the 90 second stand up bags of rice you put in the microwave, Uncle Ben's shit, if I need quick rice. It's easy enough to measure out 2 cups of water, 1 cup rice, and boil that for 25

I use Uncle Bens Spanish rice in my burritos. I'm not really sure how to recreate it myself. Grew up in a poor white family, salt & pepper were the only seasonings ever used.

As a Persian I am hesitant to believe you have ever purchased Persian rice. The closest you can get outside of Iran is basmati. Where do you live anon?
