Tea isn't supposed to be bitter. If it is your letting it steep for to long or you're just using shitty tea.
If you want good tea you need loose tea instead of bags. Sencha is pretty good green tea. Genmaicha as well.
I didn't know drinking green tea in the morning is a thing, Why is it though. Just drink whatever tea you like at whatever moment you like.

Very very cheap black tea. Simple with no frills. As stated i drink a thermos of it everyday. Better than water in every way.

>>7309867
Maybe look up "gunpowder green tea" you inbred. As for the the "flavoring" I was gonna point that out since I'm sure whatever that is, its what's giving it the ungodly strong scent. Tisane (or herbal tea) tend to have a long list of hodgepodge ingredients. They're almost always pretty expensive so I don't pick them up much. That tea in the picture was a Christmas gift.

>pressing the leaves
barbaric desu
>>
>>7314150
mine is kinda like that except I just press them downwards when they're done brewing so they don't float around
it seems like a bad idea overall because the tea just gets bitter over time because the leaves are still in the water so I'll probably get a new pot soon
>>
>>7313754

Dat dank tea.
>>
>>7313754

I don't see the point of the press if all the tea is contained in an infuser.
>>
>>7314793

The press prevents the tea from becoming bitter by compressing it. Tea doesn't release it's compounds as well when not freely expanding in water.
>>
is lapsang souchong supposed to have a really strong earthy taste
>>
>>7314793
The press on the one I have pushes the tea into the bottom portion of the infuser, and acts like a seal preventing the tea from coming into contact with the rest of the water.
And I'd presume that the compressed tea that can't freely mix with water grows bitter more slowly.
>>
>>7314852
i dont know about earthy but its definately supposed to be smokey
>>
>>7312455

>>
>>7302314

>>
>>7308283
What is it like? I am bit distrustfull about that, since Ceylon produce mainly mediocre black tea.

>>7309787
Ad right one: When i worked in tearoom, we had something similiar. All the old, unsellable tea put together, mixed with spice. Fancy name and you still sell it. Well, it wasnt THAT bad, just overpriced for what it was.
>I hated selling that shit to people.

I microwave 2 cups of water for a couple of minutes until boiling, add some lipton bags, and steep for 15 minutes. Then I remove the bags, stir in 2 cups of sugar, and pour it all into a pitcher. Pour six cups of cool water on top of that and add a bit of mint to garnish if you want to get fancy with it.

Germany. I'm mostly looking to import from some trustworthy place in China so I don't have to pay markups that the shops here like to put on their products. I used to order shincha from a local shop until I realized that I could get better product for half the price if I ordered it from Japan.

Fleurdecafe (I just checked) also delivers in Germany. They get their tea from the source themselves (biggest independent in NL), and have the highest quality tea available (as far as I'm concerned). For measure, dragon pearls are about 10.50/100 grams. Haven't tried their new dragon eyes yet, which are supposed to be even better.

I think you are reading that correctly.
I have no clue what the process of dragon eyes is (no other webshop seems to sell it), so I can't say if that's good or not. They do tend to be the first for many teas though, again because of their direct contacts with farmers.

Got this in the mail a few weeks ago.

Not only is the infuser great for cleaning, but the cup itself feels good to hold in my hand. Its roundness fits perfectly in my palms when not using the handle. It also has a magnifying affect because of how round it is which makes the colors pop out more.

I call it the Venus cup because it looks like a planet when fully infused.

From Wikipedia:
>Hōjicha (Houjicha) (ほうじ茶?) is a Japanese green tea. It is distinctive from other Japanese green teas because it is roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal, whereas most Japanese teas are steamed. The tea is fired at a high temperature, altering the leaf color tints from green to reddish-brown.

No, what I mean by 'black oolong' is the category of oolong, with high oxidation levels, that produce a brown colour when brewed rather than yellow/green. It has a roasted, sweet and mellow taste usually, and is quite distinct from black teas like assam.

nothing is "unacceptable", If anybody tell you otherwise disregard all of what he says
drink tea how you prefer it

if you're asking about what's common then it depends on the tea - it's not common to put sugar in green tea, let alone milk, but it's historically very common to put milk in English breakfast

so anything goes as long as you like it

>putting anything with your tea
Why.
>>
>>7335920
Why not? People don't generally shit on Earl Grey or jasmine tea but that's basically adding to your tea.

okay motherfuckers. I'm getting real sick of Teavana's horse shit.

12.98 for 2oz of some actually decent stuff.

there are only 15 tbsp per 2 oz

3 tsp per doublesize cup.

ONLY 5 CUPS FOR $13 - $2.60 a cup!?!???
>>
>>7336971
It wouldn't be that expensive if teavana tea wasn't shit.
>>
>>7309649
same. The cool asian tea house here is overpopulated by hipsters and weebs. It's a good place to buy exotic loose leaf, but not much else.

I picked up some matcha and Liubao today, plus the whisk/spoon for the former. I've only brewed the matcha and it is very good, well worth the price. I'm going to try the liubao tomorrow in the morning. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Teavana ain't organic.

People are drinking their pesticides in a cup synthetically altered chemicalized "tea".
>>
>>7337854
How much did the Chasen and Chasaku set you back? I know mine blew me around 50aud, although the Chasen was made in good old nippon, and I was willing to spend the cash because by god do I love Matcha.
>>
>>7313754
Dont buy one of these, they are fucking garbage.
>>
>>7336030
Oh, but pu-erh is literally 红茶 (Red tea) when you order it at a DimSum place in China.
>>
>>7327980
Try teavivre. Based in China with great green varieties
>>
What's a tea that doesn't lose its taste or starts tasting bitter or weirdly after a while? Looking for something I can take with me in a thermos flask.

>get cottonmouth
>bad breath

God damn it.
>>
>>7339866
I know the feeling but not why it happens. Shit's annoying.
>>

It was 20 bucks for the chasen, and two dollars for the chasaku. Their bowls were pretty overpriced so I just make it in a rice bowl. The tea itself was $20/oz. I know it can get really expensive if you want the best quality. They were also selling Koicha and Usucha but that would have gone over my budget.
>>
>>7339933
Koicha and Usucha are just different ways of preparing the matcha, I don't know how you can 'sell' those, unless it was just Usucha-grade or something strange like that.
>>
>>7339942
Must have been the grading I guess; they were sold separately.

What's the best tea to go with lemon? Earl Grey doesn't work.

>Their bowls were pretty overpriced so I just make it in a rice bowl.
Unfortunately it's very hard to make it well without the bowl.
>>
>>7340106
I'd argue that the whisk is much more important than the bowl, as long as the bowl isn't too big or small.
