Looking for pierogi stuffing ideas. Trying to do something other than the typical potato/onion and cheese. I'm interested in both sweet and savoury ideas.
Rotel and Velveeta for a nice, quick nacho dip.
In my experience the stuffing is the most important part of what makes a pierogi a pierogi.
You can add whatever the fuck you want, but then it will just be some kind of generic dumpling (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
I've been making pierogis for a few years now with my gf and her family and always suggest doing a few batches different, and am always met with NO, these are the only fillings we can make, with only slight variations, we for some reason need to make it like this because this is a family recipe, that we've adapted and are now basically just following from online.
approx. 70 grams of peeled and cooked chicken livers
approx. 0.5 kg boiled potatoes
3 medium-sized onions
125g butter
salt, pepper
Liver also tastes great with raspberries or cinnamon, so you could try that too.

Cabbage
Blueberry served with cream on top.
