So, I found a recipe for a brazilian pork stew online, looks pretty good. Never made it before, so I'm probably gonna fuck up somewhere. Feel free to yell advice. Like, red wine in a pork stew? that sounded a little off to me. Surely white if anything? P.S. the meat I'm making it with is pork shoulder and pork cheek, with a little black pudding thrown in towards the end. Might do some beef suet dumplings too, iunno yet.
Oh, I'm also listening to nostalgic music, figure I may as well share it with you guys. Why not post music you enjoy cooking to as well?

^comfy as fuck.
JESUS CHRIST MY EYES! Also, does anyone know if pork cheek takes longer to stew than shoulder? when cutting the meat, it felt quite a bit tougher.

Browning the meat off. The cheek is a bit darker.

Looking good OP

I recognize OP's kitchen
he is bad cook masquerading as someone who knows what they're doing in the kitchen.
>Today I'm gonna teach you how to make 'insert recipe'
>I've never made it before and I have another ta with the shitty recipe I'm using in the next tab
Also there is a difference between browning meat and graying meat.

I think the pork cheeks would do well in a red wine braise. Also, some tracks to accompany your endeavors.

That's weird, I didn't think I oversalted the last one...

Thanks man, I added a bit of red wine before I added the tomatoes. Also, when I added the cocoa powder and sugar, it started to smell... odd. Ah well, will have to see how it turns out.

So the recipe says to reduce it for 1 hour, but because I've got some cheeks in there too I'm gonna add a half hour before doing the next step. Is this a good idea? Never stewed pork before, does it take the same time as beef?

No, just do 1 hour. Cheeks don't take longer than shoulder.
I find pork takes less time than beef
Just added some green and yellow peppers, kidney beans, beetroot cubes and saffron threads. Smelling a whole lot better now that it's had time to cook down. Omnomnomnomnom.

Smelling pretty darn good, making some beef suet dumplings to go in it.
And in go the dumplings! Dunno about you, but for me dumplings are an integral part of any stew. The texture, the taste, the smell, everything about them just brings it to orgasm levels. I cannot wait for this; even with the odd chocolate flavour, it smells amazing. 25 mins until dindins, for my sins. The fat went in the bins, and then I added some tins. For the wins.
