I know that beans in chili is absolutely disgusting, but what about in pasta? I just made this from a recipe my great godmother gave me and its pretty good.
You just make tomato sauce (I used plum roma tomatoes, tomato paste, onion, garlic, and a few other additions for flavor including salt, basil, red wine, black pepper, red pepper)
Cook cannellini beans
Mix beans and sauce together
Add to pasta
Top with whatever you prefer

It depends. I don't do beans with spaghetti because they're difficult to manage with the thin noodles. Almost any kind of penne dish can be enhanced with cannellini beans. Black beans or dark red kidney beans are a must with Cincinnati chili.
