I hate both of those to be honest.

Tortellini > Gnocchi (included because it's used much like tortellini or ravioli) > Spaghetti > Linguine > Tagliatelle > Ravioli >>>>>>>>> ones with weird shapes, no filling, and no twirlability.

Penne and similar are the absolute worst. It won't go on a spoon, it'll just roll off as it's about to go into your mouth. It's a pain in the ass to puncture with a fork because it just flattens under the pressure without attaching to the fork unless you make more of an effort than you should need to at dinner. The empty space in the middle adds nothing.

I like my gnocchi and tortellini with a spoon to catch any extra sauce that's there with them. As I said, it doesn't work whatsoever with penne because it just falls off way too easily.

Fusilli for mac and cheese. Penne rigatura for anything with poultry. Fusilli spirale for cold pasta dishes, and farfalle for any vege pasta dishes.
