I used to get a mouthfull of Hot English Mustard whenever I swore as a child and now that I'm older I've grown to like the stuff but I still remember the pain and agony of my childhood so now when my wife's kids swear I just give them a mouthfull of semen because I want to be the best stepdad that I can be.

when I was 10 years old my family had a weight loss contest in which the winner would get $100. at the time that was an incredible amount of money to me so I alta vista'd several diets and wound up eating grapefruit and salad for every meal for 3 months. I've never eaten grapefruit again but at least I got enough cash to buy mortal kombat 3

I've come around to onions. I still don't like tons of raw onions in my food simply because they tend to overwhelm whatever it is you eat, but now I'm fine with them in general, when I was a kid I hated them.

Can't say too much else since I liked most food as a kid.
>>
>>7183682
Why are you even on this board?
>>
I used to love pickles, but as I got older I started disliking them more and more. I will still eat them, but I very rarely eat them as their weird sour taste just turns me off and I never understood why sweet pickles were a thing (they sound gross).

Peas. Hated them. However, one day I happened to have fish and chips with a side of mushy peas and the peas tasted so good.

(Mushy) peas are pretty good now - especially with a knob of butter and a pinch of salt. Even normal peas are at least palatable where previously I used to gag.

Most "wasabi" you get is basically colored horse radish. Actual wasabi doesn't grow outside of Japan.

Come on guys grow the fuck up
>>

Full sized tomatoes I guess, I don't really hate them anymore but they are still far too watery in my opinion.
>Still hate
Licorice

Cant think of much else I hated as a kid.
>>
>>7185985
Oh I did remember one thing, tea. Can't stand the stuff.
>>
Yellow 'murrican mustard tastes so awful. (Dijon is fine though).

I just don't get why aren't most people opposed to it. Everyone tells me yellow mustard only on hot dogs, not ketchup please.
>>
>>7185189
>Actual wasabi doesn't grow outside of Japan.
lol, yes it does.

It's a fucking plant, not Kobe beef.
>>
>>7186106
I don't care for yellow mustard on it's own when putting mustard on a burger or hot dog or whatever. I only keep yellow mustard around to use in recipes or to mix into things like potato salad.
>>
Foods I enjoy now:
>Apricots
>Quinoa

Still don't like:
>Eggs
>Ackee
>>
>>7186110
They are rheophytes that require clean water and don't like hot climates. You can't just grow them anywhere. So that anon is right to a degree when he said they don't grow outside of Japan. Well, you can try but on a large scale for produce is going to be very difficult.

It would need to be grown in a similar climate and landscape as those mountain streams in Japan. I think there is a wasabi farm Oregon but not sure if the product is comparable to Japanese grown wasabi.

Meatloaf. This is probably because my mom's meatloaf was terrible.

>still hate
Eggplant. Just the smell of it cooking sets me to heaving.
Cake. I hate cake so much, and I can't even explain why. The way chocolate cake smells gives me a headache.

I doubt if it is that much different, unless it's deprived of some sort of precursor nutrient that only exists in Japanese rivers it's almost definitely the same thing. Too much food snobbery goes into where something comes from and it's "authenticity", probably those bloody french are to blame, but I digress. The point being unless there are major changes in the quality of the input, the output will likely be comparable. Even with super ultra secret passed down a thousand generations so sharp they could cut a iron chef in half recipes and techniques some of these things have.
