Brand name matters in a word of idiots. People actually listen to ads, and respond to marketing. Brainwash them long enough, and a loyal following appears. It doesn't have to be a superior product, or a good value. It doesn't make sense, but people are really stupid and psychology is used against stupid people for profit.

Tabasco is actually aged for like 2 years in a pretty old fashioned process. It's still too expensive considering how small a bottle is, but it does have a reason for being a slightly luxury item.
