Also, pineapple isn't a fruit.

There are certain sweet-savoury latrines which work really well. Cranberry goes nicely with turkey and stuffing, pineapple goes nice with gammon due to the intense saltiness.

Pineapple however does not go well with pizza since it ruins all the other flavours. Remove the pineapple, and the residual juice is an appropriate amount of sweetness for a pizza.

Don't mean to shitpost but it comes as no surprise that pineapple on pizza is an American thing since Americans tend to fill their savoury foods with sugar seemingly indiscriminately.
