More like a pecan streusel or crunchy topping, not just crumbled up pecans.

Here's what I do

>let pie cool completely
>melt 3 tbsp butter in a saucepan
>add 1/4 - 1/2 cup brown sugar, depending on sweetness preference
>let get bubbly
>add 1/2 cup pecans, cut into pieces
>add tbsp heavy whipping cream
>stir
>take off heat and let cool 1-2 mins
>add to the cooled pie, spread evenly (will harden), let cool for 30 min to an hour before serving

Typical crumble you'd find on an apple crumble/crisp, just with pecans added in
Cold butter cubes mixed with sugar and flour, and mushed together until crumbley with pecans mixed in.
Delicious.
