On a propane grill almost always.
Detroit, MI
Michigan has, by law, the highest standards of meat content in hot dogs.
>mfw I used to be so lazy I would microwave them, buns included
Still too lazy to grill them, though, so pan cooking it is.
fry em in butter, beer, and onions. serve with mustard.
Grilled on a propane grill. Takes 5 minutes, and can toast the buns at the same time.

steamed, that's the only way to go.
+It's quick
+It's fat free
+It sweats out the nitites and chemicals
+The H and O atoms in steam are waking up all the flavors in the fat of the sausage
+It leaves the sausage un-harmed without bruises or burn marks
+you can throw the buns at the end and make a chewy hot dog.

Would steamed bread really be good? That just sounds weird as hell.
>>7096718
its actually really good, makes them chewy and delicious. just gotta let em air dry a bit before you eat them.
Burn them on an iron skillet

Briefly steamed,, just to warm them. It melts in your mouth. (Montreal hot dog on the chart).

steamed, or chopped and tossed into boxed macaroni-n-cheese
I usually just pop them in the oven. It's not as good as bbq but it's better than boiled.
