Why does having cold cuts for breakfast seem so weird to me?

Where are you from? No offense intended. If I'm having "breakfast food" I like ham and eggs in a tortilla these days the most. It doesn't seem very heavy to me.

I've had a lot of different foods to start my day, and by far, the heaviest feeling is if I load up on pancakes or a bagel or donuts.

I mean, don't get me wrong, if we're talking a giant load of bacon, yeah, that's heavy, but leaner cold cuts aren't half bad when you don't feel like cooking a whole breakfast. Maybe have a little fruit and a bit of cheese, or some granola and yogurt, who knows. The world is your oyster and all that.

I've traveled quite a bit, and can honestly say that breakfast is one of the most varied things across different cultures (mostly because foreign food places in other countries usually don't serve breakfast, so most people don't even realize how different it can be).

It's not even the strangest thing I've seen, but despite thinking I knew quite a bit about French food and culture, it wasn't until I stayed at a normal french home for a few nights that I realized they have bowls of coffee, that they dip bread with butter/jams in. Like, literal bowls of coffee.

During my time on the earth I've had pretty much any kind of food for breakfast. Except fish. Never had fish in any form for breakfast besides the odd tuna sandwich.
Am I missing something?
