Is it okay to mix and match noodles?
I mean they're just noodles it's not like they taste different.
If you can get them cooked evenly, sure.
Seeing as how you're even asking, you probably don't know basic cooking though.

Sometimes I'm at the ass end of two boxes, like Ziti and Rigatoni, you just have to add the Rigatoni 2 or so minutes before the Ziti since it cooks faster.
and when it's italian it's "pasta", noodles are oriental

>and when it's italian it's "pasta", noodles are oriental
All pasta are noodles, but not all noodles are pasta.

it's called 'combinazione al forno'

Short pasta, like "elbow macaroni", fusili, etc, are not noodles.
Long pasta like linguine, spaghetti, fettucine, etc. are noodles.

Cook them separately

I speak on behalf of all Amerifats, we've never even heard of orecchiette or maccheroni individually.

Yeah its fine I regularly mix spaghetti and soba noodles. They're all the same thing essentially. So sometimes I just substitute them like recently I used udon noodles in place of lasagna noodles in my lasagna.
