Southern /ck/ here. I got some fried chicken cooking and I need hot sauce to go with it. Recommend me some.
That 4th one

>>7068331
Why does no one ever mention this stuff? It is without a doubt one of the best all-purpose sauces out there.
Are you going to order a hot sauce for chicken that you're in the middle of cooking?
It might take a few days to arrive, but I've got no problem with cold fried chicken.
>>7068332
Cholula is breddy gud. Honorable mention to Tapatio as well.
>>7068362
I'm going to the store now and I'll probably end up getting something basic.
But this is Georgia so I eat fried chicken fairly often. I'll save the rec's for next time.
Just make your own, it's not hard at all
>>7068331
honestly those are all really good. If somebody held a gun to my head and asked me to decide, I'd pick Louisiana Hot Sauce since it has the least overpowering flavor.
Crystal for fried chicken, Tabasco for anything soupy
My personal favorite.
>vinegar
Either Texas Pete or Louisiana.
>>7068331
This stuff is fucking delicious. Don't judge till you try it. The bacon flavor works perfectly. Only flaw is having to pay $6 for shipping.
El Yucateco Habanero is also great.
>>7069404
>not specifying a color for Yucateco
Fuck off yankee
Fucking cholulu. Its one if the best. Franks and cholula god damn what to do. I'd say you can use cholula for fried chicken but its better for grilled chicken. For grilling cholula has a stronger base and burns crazy good. I've made my best with it. But franks is so well rounded. You can put it on most foods. A few splashes on pizza to draining a bottle on Greek fries or homemade wings.
get a habanero hot sauce or tabasco is fine.
>>7068331
Valentina. Its only a $1 at Walmart

Who actually still shops at Walmart?

Why? Its what I pay here in fly over land

Agreeing with everyone saying regular Crystal is the tops for good fried chicken. Beats the runners up of Texas Pete and Louisiana. Other good sides would be Lighthouse Jalapeno Ranch, Madison Street Honey Mustard, or that one Sweet and Sour with the asian bitch's face on it.
...I know my condiments.
>>7069758
I do. What's the problem? I'm not going to publix and paying 2-3x more for.something I can get closer and cheaper. Plus Walmart accepts tran-sissies and all that other liberal garbage you cuc.ks love so much
>>7069758
Who doesn't? All super walmarts have the lowest prices in their respective areas. Why would I shop anywhere else unless I buy organic shit?
>>7069795
I legitimately feel sorry for your glass organs. My condolences.
not the hottest but brown tabasco is glorious
>>7069809
I don't really like tabasco variants unless I want something very vinegary. That being said, that sound pretty damn great for fried chicken.
On a side note, garlic tabaso is one of my secret ingredients for really good tuna salad. (along with shallot and smoked salmon skin)
>>7069807
Im a goddamn donor. You should be thanking me for a spare you fat piece of shit.
>>7069809
Tabasco is shit.
>>7069833
spare your spare faggot organs, seems like it would induce death.
Valentina extra hot
>>7069837
>spare your spare faggot organs
almost forgot you already take other peoples organs up the ass daily.
>>7069809
I currently have Chipotle Cholula, original Tabasco, and pic related on my table.
Have, >>7068362 coming in the mail.
OP here. I started off with Cholula and it's not hot at all. It has no kick. Still a decent sauce in terms of flavor.
>>7070042
Based on your OP it sounds like you're set on predominately vinegar based sauces.
>>7070080
>muh vinegar
Also that was a random picture off google.
any is good for fried chicken
>>7070561
Seconded
Tabasco is literallY GOAT
Same with goose brand sriracha (xtra hot variant, red cap)
>>7068331
Tabasco and lemon juice
lets be real here
>>7068369
franks or texas pete for a nice mild sauce. although franks can be pretty salty.
>>7069758
>Who actually still shops at Walmart?
everyone but you, evidently
>>7068331
>Cholula
My mouth is watering just thinking about it. That shit is great.
When it comes to Southern-style hot sauce, I'd say Louisiana is the best.
I first discovered it at the dollar store. It thought it'd taste really low-quality. Why else would it be sitting in a dollar store?
I was so wrong. The cayenne tastes so fresh and intense. The vinegar is so sharp and "bright."
>>7069859
bruh i got chipotle cholula too
>>7072473
Is it vinegar based? I've been tempted to buy it on many occasions but I have enough vinegar hot sauces already.
>>7072493
This stuff is absolute perfection and it is so cheap and low quality too. Ugh it's too good. Everything I love in a hot sauce.
what kind of sauce should i put on my steak?
>>7072592
Steak sauce.
Ok so, I've found out that if you mix tabasco with ketchup it makes the perfect hot sauce. Open the ketchup bottle and pour a lot of tabasco to your preferred hotness. You have to mix it well. Don't forget to label the ketchup bottle.
I like all of this stuff.
Crystal was my favorite for a long time but when Katrina hit it wiped out the original plant and for a couple of years it wasn't the same. However today it is back to its' full glory.
Is there a way I can get straight buffalo flavored hot sauce? Also, tabasco is nigger tier.
>>7069859
The red and brown one that company makes are great too
>>7068331
I have a whole cupboard of chili sauces
I like green mexican chilli sauce, I was surprised to learn it was mostly carrot, I suppose to form the base of the sauce
regular ol tobasco is OK, but I prefer the extra hot nando's sauce; which I buy in litre bottles
sarichi is good only for microwave pork buns and pre-made dumplings, if you're cooking with it you shouldn't be
last year I preserved some special indian chillis I got from an ethnic store, the lady behind the counter told me not to buy them because they were really hot and I was white
I mixed them with powdered seczhan peppercorns and they have been a good adition to a base soup, and also for kimchi
y'all can get out of here with your paprika based sauces, that shit doesn't fly
>>7077274
wut is this? im 12 years old.
you could try some julios although it might be a bit peppery for fried chicken.
>>7077274
I think tiger sauce is too sweet.
>>7068331
louisiana for fried chicken... i tried sriracha once too and that was different but good
Cholula regular
Tabasco smoked chipotle
Everything else is shit tier
>>7069809
Love this stuff
>>7068331
300k scoville hot sauce is best
I like Texas Pete on fried chicken. It's what I grew up with though, so I'm definitely biased.
Frank's is pretty good too.
It's hard to go wrong with any vinegar-based hot sauce on fried chicken, really.
>>7079171
>>7079191
Thanks, milord
>>7069859
How does green Yucateco compare to red?
>>7080229
Better flavor, less heat
>>7080229
Always buy the brown
Cholula is good because it has more of tomaoto base so it works better as a condiment. Its no wonder they have it as the default at so many restaurants. It has good flavor. Just not super hot.
other than that I like most hot sauces, but El Yucateco is particular favorite
>>7080880
While i agree it has a good, and low heat, flavour, i disagree it has a major tomato component. It's much more watery than La Costena or Valentina, for example.
Frank's is middle-ground. A decent, well-rounded sauce. Salty, vinegary and pleasantly spicy. It's not pucker levels of sour like Louisiana. Both would be superb with fried chicken.
Texas Pete is basically Franks, but worse. Choluta is better for seasoning things at the table.
>>7080978
It's just cayenne pepper sauce. Get over yourself, faggot.
You guys fucking suck, enjoy your preservatice soaked shit sauces.
>pic related
Literally peppers, water, vinegar and salt
I don't know why, but I really, REALLY don't like a lot of bottled hot sauces. It might just be that I grew up eating very spicy food, dunno. A lot of them are bland and taste like watered-down ketchup.
I didn't particularly like Tabasco or Sriracha, either. However, I do like Sambal Oelek.
Could you guys recommend me any similar products to Sambal Oelek, or am I better off crushing up my own chili peppers?
>>7081319
>Sambal Oelek
That's because it's GOAT and goes well with everything. I think hot sauces without a real falvour are the best when cooking.
If you actually want to have some taste you will have to crush the chili peppers.
A restaurant specialised in hot food makes their own hot sauce and the taste is incredible.
>>7081319
>I do like Sambal Oelek.
I really want to try this stuff, but I live in a kinda plebby part of the UK when it comes to food. I can't find it anywhere. My brother lives about 20 minutes away from a Chinese supermarket and brought me some of pic related last time he visited. It's nice, but not Sambal Oelek.
Any Britbros know where to buy it? If not, I'll make some.
As well as that stuff, I also have Cholula. It's good, but the only thing I have it with is quesadillas. Can anyone recommend foods that go nicely with either of the 2 hot sauces? My current recipe is to put some onto a spoon/knife and then eat it off said spoon/knife.
>inb4 all of UK is plebfood
If Cholula wasn't hot enough for you, Texas Pete makes a stronger version of their classic hot sauce. The label is black. I enjoy it.
>>7068331
If you want to add taste uae chulula. To add kick use Tabasco.
Make your own.
A pound of chillies, a tbsp of sugar, a tbsp of salt, some oil and vinegar, remove stalks, blend together.
It's really nothing else than chilli paste with natural preservatives.
Don't recall the name and I haven't tried it myself, but there's a brand of hot sauce at the dollar store that a friend of mine swears by. It's meant for buffalo wings, IINM.
I read the ingredients list the other day, out of curiosity, and there was nothing objectionable in it except for, maybe, "natural butter flavouring," whatever that might actually be.
>>7082337
What sort of peppers do you recommend? A blend or one specific type? I like this idea.
>>7082343
Any mostly standard hot peppers, Pepperoni, Chili, etc. Considering you're getting a pound or more, pick the cheapest ones of any more spicy kind.
The name sounds fancy but Sambal Oelek is really a very generic condiment. There is a bunch of other more fancy and elaborate Sambals, but Oelek is just generic ground chillies preserved by natural means.
"Nothing Beyond", 500,000 SHU.
It's quite moderate as the "extreme sauces" go, but enough that one drop on a toast is enough to make me sweat. Two-three drops per a Ramen bowl make it an interesting experience too, sweat, hiccups and all.
Generally if I want a dish spicy, I no longer need to add shitloads of peppers or condimens, a couple drops of this give it heat and any chilies etc are just for flavor. And a cup of hot broth with two drops of it on a cold day is a life-saver; making me feel hot in a few moments.
Considering the flask of 5 oz cost me some $10 and I'm rarely using more than 2-3 drops at a time, it's really great from economical point of view. Instead of a pound of chillies to make a big pot of Lecsó spicy, I can get generic bell peppers or other cheap vegetables, squirt a little of the sauce in and have it steaming hot.
>>7068331
None, cut it with the meme sauce.
>>7069809
Tabasco is for girls
>>7082138
(Not hot sauce related, but sort of relevant).
My brother also got me some kimchi from that supermarket and I have no idea what to have with that either. I fear it may face the same fate as the spicy dill pickles I have in my fridge.
Any idea what to make/serve with it?
Tabasco if you want red pepper.
Pic related if you want habanero.
For fried chicken, you need to go with a Louisiana-style hot sauce. Ignore all the faggots suggesting Latin American or Asian sauces, or habanero or chipotle sauces, or any of that specialty shit. Every sauce has its purpose, and fried chicken demands the right sauce.
>>7082486
Do what the Koreans do with it. USE IT ON EVERYTHING.
>>7082741
yuo dont like tabsco habanero?
Its really yummy
Go to KFC and grab a shit ton of these
>>7068331
Tabasco with lemon juice
