>>
>>9578206
doubt it. Never trust opinions on cgl, people will say upcoming releases are ugly and they will end up sold out, and some people will say are amazing but they wont be very popular. Cgl is just a loud and dumb minority.

Anon I was really confused and thought the thread pic was a cutsew or something AP was releasing
>>

Its a cutsew that was sold on CC awhile back.

It was a reference to the previous thread.

Hello gulls, I'm looking for info on that dress. Is it expensive ? Rare ? I can't find any info on it, not even a print name.
>>
>>9578206
I don't hate it, it just looks Halloween cheap and tacky. I just know there's going to be better Halloween prints also. The chiffon just makes the print look dull and the coloring choices are strange.

At least the lace is IW's usual gorgeousness.
>>
>>9578829
>>9578831
>>9578832
Oh, uh.

...at least the sweetheart cut is nice on the OP? Feels kind of dark and more mature. I also agree about the lace but IW never seems to be flawless there.

The print is definitely really off here thanks to just being on top as well. I think a solid black top instead of the print would've been so perfect.
>>
>>9578829
>>9578831
Well. This is something. Good thing I'm more about IW's solids anyway.
>>
>>9578743
I'll take it off your hands for 35 bucks
>>
>>9578838
I'm actually looking for it.
>>
>>9578829
I really wanted to like it but I just feel like they're both missing that..."something". The lace is nice, but eh, same with the cut and print. It's nice, but it's lacking some sort of detail to put it over the top, like embroidery or detailing on the sheer neck and sleeve parts or custom lace just for the print or something. I feel like dresses nowadays aren't bad, but like for example I have IW's old Angel Print JSK and the waist ties are cut so the ends are scalloped like little angel wings. Details like that are things I miss in dresses.
>>
How do you go about safely offering a payment plan by PayPal? I'd like to for some of my pieces, since that's how I obtained a few in my early days.

The OP has cross lace, I don't know if that counts as custom enough since cross lace (with proper crosses and not four-petal flowers) is pretty rare.

Personally I prefer if they focus on quality rather than gimmick. The cuffs have faceted plastic buttons that are supposed to look edgy, I think, but I wish they'd just gone for normal buttons with better quality instead.

Has IW always been this big? The bust listed is 99cm for L size and 95cm for M size, but it really doesn't look that big on the mannequin.
>>
>>9578884
Can't wait for this meme to die out.
>>
>>9578882

glad someone likes it. I do love the print. Just not the torso flowers.

Just hope there's some left over when the VIP members are done with it. I might throw in an order anyway.
>>
>>9578886
Different anon but I agree with >>9578848, custom or not, cross lace on a printed dress that has no other crosses on it is nothing special. If anything it's irritating.
And 95cm bust for M sizes has been IW's standard for a while now.

I didnt see a stupid question thread so I hope it's ok to ask here.

I'm still kind of new to Lolita, Ive got a decent collection of JSk's and OP's but I need to start getting accessories and other necessities. I know bodyline is much maligned for their dress's- but does any one know if their blouses or petticoats are of ay decent quality?
>>
>>9578890
From someone who has bought their blouses.. don't. They're super stiff and uncomfortable and you can get nicer ones from Taobao.
>>
>>9578890
Don't get petticoats from bodyline, they're shit. A-line petticoats are fairly easy to get, Malco Modes is great for those, and I believe Wunderwelt has a nice cupcake petticoat if you need that.
>>
Help. How do I fix this? I brought it to a seamstress and they said they couldn't do anything ;_;
>>
>>9578896
The easiest fix would be to make crochet thread chain to close the torn loop. It won't look as pretty but It will be less noticeable.

>>
>>9578206

>>
>>9578874
>>9578912
Be advised that they'll take PP fees from each partial payment.
>>
>>9578915
>Do IW's dresses sell out quick?

They normally don't, but sometimes they get a hit release that everybody wants and then it all goes to hell. The VIPs also get first shot at it, so some releases/colourways do occassionally go up fully sold out with no chance for us plebs. If that happens I suggest you mail in an order anyway, if they get enough orders they do actually do a second run of it.
>>
Hi gulls, I'm going on a trip to London and I really want to buy my first dress, do you guys know about any Lolita stores there?
>>
>>9578957
There's at least one Bodyline/Taobao reseller in Camden, but there's tons of super ita garbage there too so if you're a newbie I wouldn't recommend it.
>>
>>9578957
why buy one in London when you can easily buy something far better online? you'll have more options too. i mean i get the desire to make something out of the trip but don't be silly.
>>
>>9578886
I saw that and it's nice but not what I consider custom I guess? Like I said overall it's not a bad dress, but for me personally small details like embroidery push a dress over into the the territory of quality design for me, because it shows they're thinking about the ways to make it more special. Same with custom lace or buttons, little things that show they thought thoroughly about the design. But I will take quality over gimmick any day, certainly.

Not what I'm saying. You can not deny there is a LARGE of amount of gulls who love classic and think anything else is awful.
Most people here seem to not like AP either.
Granted, 4chan is all about being the niche of the niche, but it's so boring. I hate knowing they're real people sometimes.

This and I think even classic lolitas who make fun of it as ageplay are secretly jealous or insecure that they aren't cute enough to wear sweet well. I used to be one of those and now I'm slowly amassing a huge amount of sweet after discovering it actually does look cute on me

>>9579083
Obviously I can't speak for all classic-loving anons out there, but you assuming we're just jelly of kawaii sweet girls is a bit out there.

Goodwill is very much pricing things appropriately as they're still over $100

Nayrt, but how are they making the internet unsafe? It's not like they pulled a watergate on the local sheriff's office, everything they found was already easily accessible online and found with a google search, including the mugshots and arrest record.

TL;dr: By ita thread logic, if the arrested girl didn't want her info posted on /cgl/ or talked about online she shouldn't have: A. been arrested, or B. not had it removed via the clear "removal policy" on the mugshot/record site.

>>
>>9579301
I'm a lone lolita myself but from what I understand the comm has no idea what is going on and is just as confused as everyone else.
>>
>>9579330
I guess the dresses' former owner was either a lone lolita as well, or the donation happened away from where she is.
>>
>>9579330
Did the local comm already know the dresses in the online auction were from a store in their area?
>>
>>9579311

>>9579297
I had a dream about finding a bunch of brand in an op-shop. Except 90% of it turned out to be replicas, though the rest was legit IW and I went on a crazy shopping spree hoarding all of it in the store.

Then I woke up and felt very empty. Glad you guys are living the dream.
>>
>>9578934
Thank you! Then I'll wait and pray I guess.

>>9579005
It's possible to like more than one substyle, you know? I own plenty "exciting" dresses of almost every style, but sometimes more wearable dresses are nice too. In this case I just really love spider lilies and always hoped for a nice print of them.
Like the other anons said, you should lurk more. /cgl/ always varies in taste and changes with every trend and fad.
Also, trying to find friends on an anonymous board outside of the friend finder thread might not be a very wise idea.
>>
>>9579161
Have you been under a rock for the past few weeks? Some lolita's entire wardrobe has been up for auction on Goodwill from an Oregon store and no one knows who she is or what happened to her.
>>

>>
>>9579301

>>
>>9579244
You guys want to look for these threads on this board >>9460968
We call it Boystyle typically but it can also go by Ouji/Aristocrat. Everything you need is there.
>>
>>9579614
>don't want to actually buy a replica at brand price
since when are replicas from taobao the same as brand price? also, a lot of taobao replicas aren't marked as replicas so I'm assuming OP bought the dress thinking it looked cute, then finding out it was a replica of a print in existence.
>>
>>9579645
Apparently you've never been to taobao or secondhand auctions, because some people will try and sell a replica using brand photos.
>>
>>9579162

You're just not interested in it. Which is fine but just try not to make your taste objective fact or make weird assumptions about other lolitas for their taste. Applies to the "sweet is ageplay" meme too.

Ntayrp but not really. The taobao listings of brand items for brand prices are usually resales of authentic pieces for people in china to buy burando. Even china is cracking down on the huge replica market there, and you can often get a refund if an item is listed as authentic or using brand photos (without their photo of their item) if it's fake.

Did you even read what you just typed? AP is the most popular in China, so they're not going to keep physical storefronts open in places where they're not selling. Instead, they're going to focus more on selling online, since that's mainly where China is buying from.
>>
>>9580048
Do you mean the one where a the yoga pants girl spilled coffee on the lolita at Starbucks??
>>
>>9580058
This is actually so painful to see. I haven't visited a physical brand shop yet so I hope they don't all close down before I do.
>>

This was the dress. It wasn't labeled as a replica or as an actual aatp dress. It's just a print replica. It was not brand price - only 392.40 rmb. I only got it because I'm blind and didn't see that it literally says Alice and the Pirates on it and thought it was cute.
I'm going to keep the shawl that it comes with.

>>9579674
They had their own photos with their own model which is why I trusted it.

I found it odd that this store has a lot of dresses with original(?) prints, but yet have this random replica mixed in with everything else.

I know they are mary janes, but mary janes with a thick modest heel, round toe, and buckle strap over the top of the foot just doesn't seem to be something that exists in western fashion anymore. Not on Amazon, Zappos, or any of the major department store websites. But a look through some lolita dress shops I see this style of shoe is a lot more common, but I still haven't found one that's just simple and plain without any extraneous bows or hearts.

Maybe I should also ask, if I order shoes from an online lolita dress shop can I expect them to fit differently than your typical American shoes?
>>
>>9580149
Yes, that one. Link?
>>
>>9580159
Japanese sizing is different. You need to measure you big to too ankle, the length is your shoe size.

Bodyline has some, but the heel and plateau is higher. You can try AnTaiNai, not sure about their current collection, but they do custom sizing/orders, so if you order from them directly you could ask to not get the bows added if you seem good ones with bows.

But there are plenty of Chinese girls in Tokyo lining up to buy their releases in-store. That's why I'm asking where this branch is located. Is it in like, Nagoya or smth?

>>
>>9580156
Oh anon. This print was originally released in 2010 and isn't commonly seen today so I suppose it makes sense you wouldn't recognize it immediately if you joined the fashion later. A lesson to look at stock images more carefully next time, if anything. Good luck selling it!
>>
>>9580163
Awesome! Thank you for the advice
>>
>>9580156
Yeah I saw it too. Quite liked it. The dress is in an non-existing cut, and I remember people saying they liked this one more than the official cuts. I'm not sure why they suddenly made a replica print, I was actually thinking of buying until I found out. I would keep it for your own free time, and just not post about it anywhere. f it really bothers you, try ebay or a local swap meet.

I really like this but it's not a very lolita print, I'd consider buying it as a normie dress.

Since it seemed to be a traditional Japanese theme I'm disappointed that they didn't release it on a kimono or more traditional cut.
>>
>>9578890
Their blouses are much worse quality than their main pieces, I'd go straight to Taobao if you're on a budget and brand if you're not. Their petticoats are nearly all shit as well, and for the price of the less-shit ones you could get a proper one from MeLikesTea or something.
>>
How do I get pin holes out of things? Help is very much appreciated?
>>
>>9580380
You can sort of pull or rub on the fabric around it to get the threads to align again.
>>
>>9580244
If it's Muuh or Astro, they're consciously ripping you off
>>
What's the best material for MeLikesTea petticoats? The hard tulle looks so good and poofy when new, but apparently it deflates fastest.

The voile doesn't look as poofy when new, but i t supposedly never die, so would that be the most worth it? Of course there's organza as well, but I'm hesitant because my Bunny House organza petticoat has almost totally died after almost one year.
>>
>>9580466
I only own the voile ones and I like them, you can go for more layers to have more poof. I live in a cold climate though so I'm not worried about excess fabric making me uncomfortable.
>>
>>9578890
Bodyline petticoats are garbage. Barely one tier above Halloween shops. I've sworn on Malco Modes' petticoats for years. I got my first petticoat from them, and almost six years later I'm only now considering replacing it.
>>
>>9580165
I think it was Sendai, but I don't remember. I saw it on Twitter and I can't find it again.
>>
>>9580058
Meanwhile I wish I could go buy all their shelving.
>>
>>9580466
>>9580489
Also adding that I've never own or known anyone who owned their "hybrid poof monster" but I can believe that the concept of mixing the two materials works because I do similar things with my own petticoats. I have a tulle petticoat that's kind of garbage on its own (doesn't form the perfect shape, deflates over course of day) but when layered over the chiffon/voile lolita petticoats I have the stiffness it provides is really great for heavy velveteen dresses that otherwise might cause A-line petticoats to sag into a bell-shape at the edges. Same principle as a lot of dresses having a tulle inbuilt petticoat, I guess.

Are there any other gulls thinking about reserving items from this series? The v-shaped hem really looks odd to me but otherwise I like the design of the dresses. Decisions, decisions...
>>
>>9580501
I'm leaning towards going with voile! A lot of AP dresses I own have built-in tulle, so the voile would probably work well with that. I wish MLT had an image of the hybird poof monster in voile, she only has an image for the hard tulle one, which looks amazing in the image. It wouldn't be worth it if it doesn't last though, so maybe voile is best.

Have you found any deflation whatsoever? Also, what style do you wear? I need it to be good for sweet.
>>
>>9580538
I wear a lot of gothic/classic/oldschool but I do wear sweet sometimes and I have a lot of heavy velveteen pieces that need serious poof. I tend to stack pettis though. Since I wear a lot of styles with different silhouettes I've always preferred to have, say, 2 pettis that I can combine to look super poofy or wear alone for dresses with less, than to have one that's going to be less versatile. If literally your entire wardrobe is sweet dresses with the same sort of weight and required poof you're probably not going to benefit from doing that. Even so, I think it is generally better to buy two petticoats if you're new so you can stack when you need extra volume but also have the option of normal poof too, even if the second one is just a cheaper offbrand one like the Malco Modes one the other anon suggested (bell layered under most A-lines will still form a bell shape).

I don't think it's deflated since I got it a while back, but they do deflate a bit over the course of the day (inevitable unless you use a hoop skirt). I have four in different lengths and styles so if you don't mind waiting I could post some pics in a couple of days (not home til then).
>>
>>9580556
Thanks! I'm going to go ahead and order tonight so I can still use Lor's coupon code (expires tomorrow) but I'd still like to see pics when you're able to!

And yeah, my wardrobe is totally sweet, mostly AP and a bit of Baby. I think the voile will be good, and I could always layer it with my sad Bunny House one if needed. I think it will be good to get a material like voile as it sounds like I can rely on it for a long time.
>>
>>9580564
I just checked and here's what I have btw, I've just realised it's less useful to you than I thought because I forgot I only have one bell-shaped MLT petti, since I still mostly rely on an older deflated bell I bought from Classical Puppets like 3-4 years ago. I recently bought their standard 50cm bell-shaped petticoat with 5 layers from them, then I also have a 55cm 2-layer petticoat and two 45cm 3-layer petticoats in different colours. They're all voile and all visually constructed with 3 tiers.

If you're ordering tonight I'd definitely get 5+ layers (or two petticoats) for sweet, their voile 5-layer is poofier than my CP one was but still has me wanting to layer with some dresses.
>>
>>9580576
I placed my order, I got the hybrid poof monster in voile with 6 layers. 5 is standard, and I think the extra layer will make up for the hard tulle being a bit poofier when new. The hybrid poof monster has 6 stars for poof in the product info, the highest one. I hope it lives up to that!

Also, what is the name of the one you have on MeLikesTea website? There isn't one called standard bell-shaped, but is the one you're talking about the casual cupcake?
>>
>>9580599
Twinning is encouraged in lolita unlike in other fashion spheres. She must be bitter.
>>
>>9580600
It's the Cotton Candy one, but without any frills or extra trims so it looks plain.
>>
>>9580614
Thanks! How do you find is a good way to store the voile ones? With my bunnyhouse petticoat, I kept in bunched up in a collapsible hamper for storage, with the layers spread out so they wouldn't flatten (though I guess it didn't work).
>>
>>9580624
I screw them up into a ball in a ziploc bag because I think they maintain volume better that way with the layers scrunched up instead of lying flat (my first MLT order came in ziploc bags, the second one didn't and I'm yet to find ones the right size). When I've been on trips and stored them flat, in drawers, etc they've lost volume. However, the volume I'm getting from scrunching them up and shaking them out before use might be a kind of false volume that's part of why mine deflate over the course of the day, so YMMV.

In general with petticoats I screw up anything that can be screwed up, it's only with tulle where I don't want to make permanent creases that I store it flat/upside down/whatever.

I think so too. Tbh I'd love to see someone copying some part of my style and see it evolve into a trend in lolita. Considering MD has a shop as well she should ride the wave instead of having her friends snark up people on CoF. Sounds like a dumb business strategy.

Also, now I kind of want to wear that style of veil just to piss her off.

>>9580501
I have the hybrid poof monster, bought it back in early 2015. I think mine might actually be the light purple one in the stock photos since she put those up at the same time I commissioned it. It hasn't deflated, it's all tulle and all poof despite being stored shoved on a shelf, worn in a plane, worn under layers of velvet etc. It just kinda...fluffs back up? I also have the poof monster, which has deflated a little but is still a decent A line. I think the sheer amount of fabric in the hybrid poof monster keeps it from deflating.

I was unimpressed with my bunny house petti, I bought the "XL" back in 2014 and it had deflated within 4-5 months to a very minimal poof bell shape. I only wear lolita once a week to once a fortnight due to work, so it wasn't like there was heavy use involved. That being said I've heard good things subsequently so maybe she started putting more fabric or more layers in them since then, the organza in mine is very minimally gathered.

Taking Lolita dresses to the dry cleaner: do you have to give them any special instructions? The dress in question is made of wine red ap chiffon
>>
>>9581181
Stuff like older cotton prints, screen prints, and velvets are usually what people are worried about when laundering. AP's chiffon is is most likely some sort of poly so there isn't much of a chance of the colours running or transferring. You can probably hand wash it yourself if you feel up for it.
>>
>>9581181
>>9581254
Flocking, too. Flocking is delicate to begin with and some of the stuff used by dry cleaners can completely remove it. Any dry cleaner worth their salt should realise this and act accordingly, though.

the language you're using makes very little sense to me. it's nbd that you hate classic but I'm very suspicious of your interest in the fashion if you can't see the variety available in 1 of the 3 major styles of lolita. there're many ways to create a classic coord.
but I'm still wondering, why are you trying to delegitimize the whole style just because you can't find something you like about it? there's absolute magic in classic and some gulls liking it doesn't in turn mean they think sweet or gothic are shit. you need to grow up and stop making everything a personal attack. that victim shit is beyond annoying.

lol that's my wishlist and all those dresses come from two brands where one of the brands was started by a designer that left the other. Also my tastes are like super cohesive so this isn't really a good representation of the range that classic lolita can have.

>>9581958
Older JetJ actually looks quite a bit like MM/VM because JetJ's designer originally worked for VM too. IW and MM would be a better contrast because IW does a lot more cutesy shit.

I do not like fluffball earrings or shoe clips with lolita for example, or those pointy kittenheels. the aesthetics don't mix well to me and that's just me. you seriously can't handle different opinions?

>>9581983
I'm also the person saying they all look samey.

And yeah. You guys all like the same shit.
>>
>>9581985
Yeah, they are different. There are lots of different things about them. There are differences in all dresses.

They still look the same.
If you can't see both, then you have some kind of bias towards classic.
>>
>>9581991
I can, but we're here to tear each others opinions up, so that's what I'm doing.
Since you decided to voice yours and all. People are getting what I'm saying. Not sure about you.

I see her coord as sweet fusion too and I think that mature sweet is pretty much just sweet-classic. You can also have goth-classic but like, sweet goth isn't really a thing - people seem to mostly argue against things like bittersweet and pastel goth.

So what's with the weird mesh of classic being a substyle of both sweet and gothic? Give me some more substyles of classic that make it more different and not just a counter part to the main two styles.
>>
>>9582002

I don't know what the anon you are replying to said, but I don't really think MD did all that wrong. So she has a problem with someone "copying" her and blocked them? It's weird and a little much to block someone for it, but the other girl also should have just moved on. She kind of dragged it out like she was hoping for drama or people to turn on MD. Why did all the MD stuff get deleted? Did anons delete their posts or does she have a janitor friend cleaning up the negativity about her?
>>

Just because JetJ isn't poofy petticoat AP style, doesn't mean that it's not lolita. JetJ is just a much more artsy, mature take on classic lolita. Not everything is prints and huge petti's, anon.

MM and JetJ look nothing alike and anyone with an eye for the brands could immediately pick up almost any JetJ piece and separate it from a MM piece.

You seem very new to lolita. This is just... so distinctly JetJ in every way, especially older pieces. You need to actually learn more about brands before pretending like you know what you're talking about.

that image is pretty one sided as the images on the left are a made up collage and the images on the right are just google searches.

I had that saved from awhile ago, anon. I didn't get it just for this thread.

Quit acting like discussion is awful regarding this.

I reported several posts because it's breaking the rules.

Read the rules sometime.

Bitch, you're making lolita general about you and why you hate ~mean old /cgl/ anons~ that hate my ugly sack cuts and sweet lolita.

So? Who cares? Why are you so delicate?
>>
>>9582123
That was the fucking point? Did you not read the post or?
>>
>>9582093
This is quintessential lolita. You better define what you think is lolita because this is getting stupid.

This is a great example of a theme/substyle "nun" that is usually gothic, but is clearly with a more classic take on it.

Anyone have scans from the new issue of Spoon?

What I posted is lolita. The thing I replied to was not.

Why did egl die while other lj comms are still alive?
>>
>>9582219
Rufflechat was a replacement, I guess. The other comms did not have one.

That being said, what actually happened to Lacebook? I wish it would have stayed. The community always suffers when it moves from platform to platform.

Nayrt but it reminds me of Millefleurs' kimono silk pieces.

Does anyone recognise this dress? It's really cute.

Also Wunderwelt is holding another coord competition based on some character called Elise.

Do you guys have any experience with sheglit blouses? How would any of them fit on a 76cm waist? I got next to no tiddies so the bust is likely no problem
>>
>>9582414
It would be tight in the waist, but it's the shoulders that will get you. I made that mistake and now I have one NWT no one will buy at half the original cost...
>>
>>9582456
Measurements? I may be interested.

Does anyone have any advice for washing JetJ prints? Would I be safe to hand wash my La bibliothèque OP in lukewarm water?

It's obvious that they don't know anything about classic.
>>
>>9582734
You mean the tie up ones?
I'm a bit stumped too. I bought one and it slides all around. I'm going to try to glue or stitch hairclips on them, if it works, I'll post the follow up here.

>this is really offtopic though
>>
>>9582734
>>9582760
Hatpins. Essentially its a very long pin, often with a decorative end. You'll need something to secure it to (a braid, a bun, a wig, etc) but they work really well.
>>
>>9582760
How's it offtopic for the lolita general? Straw hats are a lolita accessory.
>>
How long does MLT standard shipping take in peoples experience? It is pretty pricey for being a cheap shipping option.
>>
>>9582092
Yes you can do ero classic. I think some Linda Friesen pieces could be great. Also, the only good example I know of ero sweet would be very classic if it was beige instead of pink, pic related.

>>9582123
>They just posted a ton of dresses that are similar in every style.
Please tell me more about how similar BTSSB - Robe De La Reine Poor Midori and Innocent - World Union Jack JSK are.

I made it like that on purpose, to show a GOOD example could make classic look versatile (as you had given a bad example). The google searches where to show that a BAD example could make gothic and classic look all the same too (because that is what your bad example did with classic).

Also, themes like ero, sailor, etc. Since when are it substyles of bigger substyles? If anything, it are themes or styles in itself. You're the first I hear talking about substyles in substyles, and it just seems wording to make it less obvious you're wrong, as there are many themes in classic.
>>
>>9582938
only cgl is so retarded about calling it themes or substyles of substyles. Also, newfags who don't know how the majority of lolitas have always used the word substyle.

Thoughts on wearing velvet in summer? It's been in the low 50s for parts of this week here (so like 10-15C?) so it's not even like it's too hot, but it just feels so unseasonal and wrong.
>>
>>9579757
Maybe it was a brolita's wardrobe.
>>
>>9583109
Do it, anon. I live in a place where it only gets to the 50s in early winter, I would kill to be able to wear velvet all year.
>>
>>9582554
It's the Bishop Blouse in Black. If you're really interested I'll throw it back up on LM
>>
>>9583109
>mfw I just wore a halloween themed dress last week

Do it, fuck summer, just do it. I'm about to get my autmn decoration out as well.
>>
>>9583109

Low 50s makes god tier fabrics (wool, velvet, etc) a necessity, not an excuse.
>>
Does anyone have experience setting dyes with salt and vinegar to help psyche me up? I have Honey Cake in ivory and I'm too terrified to wear it until i have some confidence the red won't run easily, but i'm worried wetting the fabric with the mixture would make it run in the first place. Currently thinking patch test on waist ties but if anyone has experience and is able to settle my fears i'd be very grateful.
>>
Does anyone have recommendations for where to get a nice lolita appropriate crown? I want something regal so I think mini-crowns are too cutesy. Maybe something like pic related but slightly less OTT?
>>
Does anyone know of any cute but mature subscription boxes, someone posted a Marie antionette box but there are only 2 reviews and it's 45$ a month. I really like their aesthetic but I don't want to relinquish my shekels on a possible bad deal. I'd go for kawaii box but I don't need aliexpress tier clutter
>>
>>9582667
I own the skirt version of the print and throw it in the washing maschine all the time. So I'd say it's safe to handwash yours. None of my Jetj prints bleed. They are pretty safe to wash from my experience.

How do people keep their bows crisp? I just received a new jsk and the bows are super floppy from postage should I just iron them?

Are there lolitas in Nova Scotia and/or going to Hal-con? I signed up for the waitlist and was just accepted. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go but I wanted to ask about the jfashion out there because Im not local and my main audience is lolitas and jfashion peeps
>>
>>9583421
If you dont know how to wash your brand I'll take it off your hands for you.
>>
>>9583633
Voodoodolly.i know it looks different but the quality is excellent.
>>
>>9584060
If they don't have anything special, you just iron them. better use a low setting just to make sure.
>>
>>9584060
You could steam them to get wrinkles out, then lay the dress flat, starch them and shape them how you'd like them then leave them to dry.
>>
>>9584164
God I hope so.

Has anyone ever had the black part of tea party shoes get scuffed and a bit dull?

It happened to mine, just above the wood heel (see pic related). How can I make it black again? Would a sharpie marker work? Thanks in advance!
>>
>>9584401
angelus direct sells leather paints in all colours (even pastels like the pink on the shoe) i recommend them for any sort of patch work.
>>
>>9583645

I've never seen a subscription box worth the money. If I were you I'd just save up and get either a burando or lolitadesu's lucky packs once or twice a year instead.
>>
This was weird today. I was on the subway wearing lolita and some guy in a suit offered me $1000 to come over to his apartment and receive bepis. He called me a high-class, feminine prostitute.

No told him "no thanks," got off at the next stop, and lmao'd.
>>
>>9583421
Honey Cake should be fine to machine wash, I have done so with the ivory and pink JSK. However, I only have experience with washing it in machines in Japan which generally don't use hot water and are just overall kind of weak, so ymmv.
>>
What does everyone think about the IW resale questionnaire, what are you guys going to ask for?
>>
>>9585009
I wouldn't mind an astronomical clock jsk.
>>
>>9584703
Whatever happened to that lolita box someone had? I remember it was crazy expensive so everyone was wondering if it had brand.
>>
>>9583109
Do it and let me live vicariously though you! Every time I think it's going to be cool enough to wear velvet or wool it ends up being warmer than expected and I either have to change or sit around like a sweaty, red-faced mess. Fuck summer.

>>9583401
What do you mean? Low 50s isn't that cold. Or maybe I'm just used to it.

I've washed my ivory jsk a few times in a gentle cycle on 30 degrees in a clothing bag. The print didn't bleed or fade at all.

Ever had a time where you just feel confused about lolita?
Like if you really look good in it, or what kind you like/suit best (prints? non prints? both? sweet? gothic? sweet in darker colors? old school?).
I don't even know what I truly love and havent bought a thing in 3 months. I used to be utterly passionate about lolita as a teenager but had very little money and now that I have more of it, I'm not as passionate even though I really want to be.

That and I'm starting to "feel" old (23), it's still a young age but I feel like i'm not really a ~~pretty maiden desu~~ anymore and am getting closer and closer to the "christmas cake" age
>>
>>9585396
You need to understand that you will always feel out of place in lolita, whether you are 16 or 30. There is no such thing as too old, because lolita will always look so outlandish, the age isn't the problem.
>>
>>9585400
Yeah I know that, it's just that all these years (8, precisely) my "aesthetic" was " melancholic maiden" and i'm no maiden or at least won't be soon and I'm having trouble letting that go.
>>
>>9585403
Can't you be a melancholic lady?
>>
>>9585410
Yeah sure, it's just that letting go of youth is more difficult than I thought. I want to be forever kawaii like in my chinese cartoons .Fuck being 3D
>>
>>9585386
sorry anon, not my favorite cut/color
>>
>>9579297
Hey I think your shirt is cute anon.
I really do wonder what happened, it just feels spooky.
>>
>>9585257
Same, I've wanted to blue version for so long, just not the one with the god damn belt.
>>
>>9578961
I still have the first dress I bought there in like 2006. Just can't throw it away...
>>
>>9582093
I 100 AGREE WITH YOU. It looks absolutely nothing like lolita. It's somewhat historically influenced, frills are involved and that's it. If it were some offbrand dress and one asked if it could work for lolita, people would unanimously say nice try, but no. Fucking hate J et J for muddying the waters. They have one or two stunning dresses that sort of feel like lolita and some that are just nice to go to a wedding or garden party in, but not lolita.
>>
>>9582938
Considering the debauchery of the rococo era wouldn't classic be perfectly suitable for ero?
>>
>>9584710
Why didn't you set him straight? It's not just about you, it's about the next girl he tries that shit with.
