Skirts are not getting enough love from lolitas these days. Brands are not releasing them much. Why do lolitas hate them? It's sad.

Currently Meta's fantasy parade frill skirt in black, because it is fun to wear on a daily basis and the fireworks make me think of summer festivals

Anything with a belt, vest or interesting brooches on the blouse. Bonus points for a beret as the hair accessory.

There are too many.
I love the versatility of skirts and how cute they look with a visible corset.
I like skirts and still buy them but since I prefer boleros over blouses, that makes them harder to coordinate. With a JSK you can wear a bolero over it without a blouse and it looks fine, but with a skirt you can't just leave your stomach bare so there needs to be an extra layer. So far I prefer high-waisted skirts so that I can wear a relatively simple cami and bolero with it, without the cami bringing the coord down too much. I need more cutsews though.

Pic related. I'm a slut for velveteen skirts and tartan.

Pic related. It kinda sucks because it's not overly expensive generally, I just have managed to miss it.

That I own? Probably an ancient velveteen Baby one or Stained Glass Angel.
I think brands don't release as many because they're harder to coordinate so people avoid them, and because they tend to have much more limited sizing, old brand skirts especially being 26in at the waist with no shirring isn't unusual.
