I think the Baby Ponytail designer was supposed to mail out items and the Midwest staff were going to vend for them. Iirc the designer lives in China? I'm not surprised that they couldn't get more lolita guests (even indie) since AMW is right after AX and the same weekend as Japan Expo in Paris (which has like a 200k attendance)

First time going to AM, it was really fun and I met some really nice people that I already miss

I really enjoyed this con except for the scheduling of the Trigger panels and autographs. Also friend made a mess in my room but based on what I did hopefully he learned his lesson.

I did the same, waited for a Trigger dollar and watched the Inferno Cop stuff, then immediately headed to the autographs. My boyfriend stayed in the panel, since he got a stamped dollar, so he filled me in. There wasn't much else besides what was already said at AX, apparently. I'm just happy I got Waka and Koyama to sign my Inferno Cop art/they liked it so much

Had a really fun time but now i'm sad that it's over.

This was my second AMW. Half the panels I wanted to go to were cancelled but it was still fun. The game room was a bit of a disappointment though. My local con had a better game room (could be because Tokyo Attack >>> IPG). Now I'm just debating if I want to go to CAD

I skipped out on the autograph signing the first day because I wanted to see the LWA Q&A, later found out I wouldn't have made it anyways because of the exhibit hall cutoff.

Second day I left the panel 20 minutes before it ended only to find out they cut off the line for signings BEFORE THE LINE WAS EVEN SUPPOSED TO START FORMING AT 4. Then my friend learned he could have gotten my shit signed AFTER I LEFT BECAUSE THE LINE LEADER TOLD ME THERE WAS NO CHANCE OF GETTING AUTOGRAPHS.

10/10, would be incredibly frustrated again.

When Chunlichan got banned, shortly thereafter Amy posted a big, excessive rant saying she's leaving too due to Chunlichan's poor treatment. They go to events with the Milwaukee Comm instead now. Chunlichan wasn't treated poorly, she treated the entire community poorly.

She's been showing the same print for what, 2 - 3 years now? A lot of indie designers also struggle to raise _capital_ and yet they can manage to release more than one new print in that time. I think you're making a lot of assumptions here though. Maybe the guests only want 50 minutes? I mean, signing things and meeting fans for an hour straight is really monotonous. You gotta put on your nice face and be friendly and hear the same thing over and over basically. It's not easy - a panel is actually a lot easier.

Guys, you're not getting it.

The lolitas have their own social events. The tea party was posted above, individual comms tend to arrange for meals or hanging out together, even girls who are out-of-towners tend to arrange to meet up with friends. They already have a social calendar that's full. Even extroverts need some down time to kick off their tea party shoes and enjoy a nice bubble bath/hot shower/whatever.

Any other time they're probably happy to give you a chance and get to know your wonderful personality. But at a con, there's limited time and energy, sometimes you have to chose because you only have the energy to do one social event.

And cgl meets having the rep for attracting crossboarders makes it the less attractive event to attend.

I had a blast meeting some of my friends for the first time and Midwest being my first convention I enjoyed it. There was a lot more people than I expected (since I was told it was a smaller convention by them compared to my area) but all and all it was fun.

Highlights/Stuff that happened with my group:

>getting all of the Trigger panel autographs for my friend. He wasn't able to Friday, so I stopped them by the elevator. His smile was my reward.
>All the costumes, esp. on Saturday.
>Play Cards Against Humanity in the Board Game/Cards section
>Getting this neato sweater
>A little girl asking for a photo with me even though I don't think I really counted as cosplay.
>When the Translator at the trigger panel didn't translate everything they were saying (The writer seemed kinda annoyed with the panel) and holding back my laughter.
>The "Your Waifu in Real Laifu" panels and all the other dumb ones were fun to attend.
> The Game Room basically being to ourselves at 2am.

Downside:
>had to have my hand held like a child because my anxiety kicked in a few times.

Same here, especially considering I missed the BNHA shoot because of the Trigger autograph mess. The few people who I talked to were well worth it though. I'm definitely wearing Inko again in the future.
