anyone know what's up with wunderwelt? the text translated to page not found, anyone else the same?
>>
>>9552887

Well, this is worrying. We've always known Fril was directly selling between individuals, but assumed it was safer because Japan is where brand is so cheap you don't need replicas.

I'm honestly not really sure that shopping services can recover anything if you do receive a replica -- by the time you receive it it's possible the feedback has already been left and all transactions closed for good.
>>
mana is
>>
>>9552977
I've had the same error a couple of times today. Refreshing usually does the trick for me. Best guess would be a server or connection issue on Wunderwelt's end.

I used to steam things all the time with a proper standing garment steamer when I worked in a charity shop (thrift store), it worked on pretty much everything BUT if you have an old steamer, hold the steam head too close or angle it wrong it sometimes spits out water, which CAN make the dress wet. I got water spots on a silk-lined vintage coat doing that once. Test it out on something less delicate first to see if it spits at all.

Hanging things up while I shower has never been effective for me, it's all right for reducing odours but it doesn't really get wrinkles out.

>>9552674
Maybe try Melissas if the basic jelly shoes you're finding on eBay etc aren't doing it for you?

>>9552989
I've seen a huge amount of people selling Kiss Me Cat for around $70. At first I assumed it was just because it's easier to access over there, but recently I've become quite suspicious because of how many replicas there are.
>>
Would anybody have like suggestions for some cute jelly shoes/jelly shoe brands for sweet summer coords? Would not mind for super basic ones with maybe glitter for casual days. Thank you.

Just saw this, thank you so much for your suggestion! I had found that website but wasnt too keen on it since i had not heard of it.

I bought a dress from Mercari through a small SS. The pictures in the Mercari listing showed every piece of the dress was included. When the dress arrived to me, I noticed that one of the bows was missing. I asked the SS to contact the Mercari seller, but they're not responding. Is it the job of the SS to check everything is there before shipping it to me? Should I ask for some compensation?
>>
>>9553135
I have a couple dresses with glitter in it (Miracle Candy, Milky Planet) and they all still have the glitter in it, but its less noticeable after several rounds of dry cleaning.
>>
>>9553165
Depends on the SS's own ToS.
>>
>>9553165
Cheaper SS usually don't
>>
>>9553165
This seems to be a common issue. There was that other anon who bought a Moitie dress and it had stains on it that the SS ignored and they said it wasn't their responsibility to check, despite saying they check the items in their FAQ. I think they also told her to read the description more carefully, but if the seller is lying/fucks up idk how that's going to help.

I hate salopettes. I'm tired of seeing them everywhere being labeled as "lolita". I have yet to see a single person pull one off half decently, not to mention 99% of the time they're not proper loltia at all.
>>
>>9553242
Obviously the dudes on the floor are going to give up their kidneys to lolita chan so she can sell them on the black market and make money to buy more buruando

>>
>>9553362
salopettes make for cute casual lolita on petite, thin girls. they don't look good on tallitas and fatty-chans. but yeah i've seen very few people able to pull them off because most people are too fat or too tall.
>>
>>9553242
Ah yes, Kamikaze Girls, the timeless lolita classic.
>>
>>9553327
Ask in the oldschool thread and/or check the Wayback Machine and G&LBs for that year (volumes 4-7). If that doesn't work you could ask in the Facebook dress ID group, Rainedragon has a bunch of AP catalogues and might know.

To be honest though, the exact price of a 15-year old dress is totally irrelevant to what it's worth now anyway.
>>
>>9553362
Who the fuck are you to say what's not lolita, did you invent it?
>>
>>9553385
Really? To me, on petite thin girls salopettes look a bit loose and bulky, and very awkward.

Can anyone tell me if steaming is totally safe? I've been researching and one source says delicate things can't be steamed, and another says it's better to steam delicates.

I'm most concerned about colours/prints running. Steaming wouldn't make dresses wet or run, would it?

Some people also do the hanging things up while you shower method, but then you can't target wrinkles. I'm such a chicken when it comes to clothing care. I just don't want to hurt my burando.

>>
>>9553572
Hi anon! I have nearly 60 main pieces, many of them being AP prints. I've steamed all of my AP prints with no problem with my handheld steamer. I've steamed a lot of non-printed brand as well.

I wouldn't be too terribly worried. The only print I know of that is notorious for running is Milky Berry as well as the black colorway of various older prints. There's a chance I might have one of the prints you're worried about so feel free to ask me for some extra peace of mind

>>
>>9553572

Anything you can wash in water you can steam. The steam is only on the fabric for a few seconds, so it won't melt synthetics either.

Anything that needs dry cleaning but won't melt/run when splashed with water can also be steamed since the water evaporates almost instantly.

That covers about 99% of all lolita clothes. There's probably some really delicate things out there that doesn't handle steam well, but you'd run into the issue of how to wash them before you run into the issue of whether they can be steamed.
>>
>>9553485
I once owned an ap salopette. With my 168-170cm I'm on the tall side here and I got a bum those insta hoes would die for (which I want to go) anyway that salopette was HUUUUGE and LOOSE af even on me and it still went mid thigh which is at least longer than any LisLisa dress I ever wore.

I think that especially salopettes are something to fit bigger girls (not landwhales obviously, but thicc thighs and some boobs) as they're most likely very huge but will still fit loose in the end.

Do you respond to a comment asking the size of an item when the size is in the title of the listing? I don't want to be rude but just... what?
>>
>>9554358
if you only stated a letter, you could give more precise measurements. if you wrote everything in the listing, just tell then it's in the listing
>>
>>9554358
If all you put was "size L" or something then its understandable that someone asked you about the sizing.

We want measurements, not S/M/L

If you listed measurements I would just reply with the measurements again
>>
>>9554368
>>9554371
I didn't write the measurements in the listing because I linked the lolibrary page which provides the exact measurements.

I've sold quite a few items and i've never had anyone ask me about this. I suppose I'm confused as to why they wouldn't check the reference link, isn't this exact type of question why there's an option to list a reference link?
>>
>>9554378
You should really always put the measurements in the listing despite linking a reference link.

Lolibrary doesnt always have the full or exact measurements of a piece either, especially for things with shirring.

Girl couldve just not seen you linked it or something though, who knows. I always look for a link first, and most everyone else does too.
>>
>>9554378
People are lazy anon. They want to be spoonfed.
>>
>>9554368
Honestly, I hate sellers who link to Lolibrary and then get mad when people ask for measurements. The measurements on Lolibrary are often wrong/slightly off, and I think it's courteous to either say "I checked the measurements and they match the ones on Lolibrary" or "Lolibrary says the bust is X but I think it'll go up to Y due to shirring, it fits me comfortably at Z." You'll increase the number of potential buyers that way too.

Like, right now I'm wearing an unshirred OP that lolibrary says is 86cm bust, but it fits me very comfortably at 92cm without looking at all strained. Recently I bought an AP OP that AP's site (and therefore lolibrary) said was 103cm max but it already felt tight at 92. There's massive variation in measurements. Or I couple of years ago (when I was smaller), I had a shirred AatP JSK which was listed as 78-101cm, but the shirring was so tight that it looked strained on me at 84cm.
>>
>>9554384
I guess it's never occurred to me because I do research before buying items I want and try my best to fully read descriptions. It's not an item with shirring so that doesn't factor in.

I'm still pretty confused, I've sold over 20 items and never have I ran into anything like this. I provided the source to research the item, so she should use that, shouldn't she?

>>9554388
It looks like this is the case.
>>
>>9554391
If it's a popular item it'll sell regardless. There are also other ways besides looking at lolibrary to figure out measurements like looking at past listings. If you absolutely can't find the information you need then I guess feel free to ask but most of the time it's available if you aren't lazy.
>>
>>9554391
Because I'm fairly petit I don't worry about things being too tight so I didn't think of it this way, I'll take it into consideration in my future listings. I still am confused, especially because of the phrasing she used. She didn't ask for measurements, she asked the size. If she wanted measurements wouldn't she ask for measurements?
>>
>>9554398
Maybe shes just retarded anon.

Either way just give her the link and the measurements and see if you can make any money off of her
>>
>>9554398
If she asked the size she might be one of those stupid US buyers who goes "I don't have a tape measure, what is it in normal clothes sizing? Will it fit a 16?"
>>
>>9554394
For a popular item, yeah, but anon didn't specify if she was trying to sell Misty Sky or some no-name OP. Past listings also don't help as it can be hard to tell if the seller measured themselves and the Lolibrary measurements are correct, or just copy-and-pasted the measurements from Lolibrary in.
>>
>>9554417
>past listings also don't help as it can be hard to tell if the seller measured themselves

Then why expect anons measurements on her dress to be correct either? This is a bad excuse, you can easily cross reference the measurements on past listings with the ones listed on Lolibrary. Don't be lazy.
>>
>>9554401
I gave her the details, though I'm slightly worried about her competency at this point if she does end up winning.

>>9554415
This is what I'm afraid of.
>>
>>9554418
Reading comprehension, anon. Re-read what I said, I was talking about what happened when you did cross-reference and it matched.
>>
>>9554384
The only time I ever mention measurements in my listing is when I notice that they differ from lolibrary.
>>
>>9554422
Most of the things you're saying sound like pointless bitching about how you're too lazy to look things up before you buy so I just glazed over your post. My bad.
>>

>>9554428
I've never had an issue with it being terribly off, but like I said I'm petit so it's not as much of a problem for me. I'll be sure to do what >>9554423 said in the future and list the measurements if I find any discrepancies.

It wasn't customer scamming drama or anything like that, the worst anons got was that she used to buy and wear replicas a few years ago (when there was way less stigma against it in the international community in general and lots of prominent lolitas like Lor, Peachie and Caro all owned replicas) and has made design replicas on commission for Brazilian lolitas. Found some old Japanese drama from January this year, didn't see it posted at the time and thought people might be interested.

http://blog.livedoor.jp/ninji/archives/49263034.html

Basically some Japanese TV programme went to Bodyline in Harajuku and introduced it as a "cosplay and gothic lolita shop", and Japanese lolitas kicked off about how it was misrepresenting the fashion, conflating lolita and cosplay, and recommending cheap, shitty brands that steal other brands' designs.

Some of the Japanese tweets about it
>It is featured on TV on BODYLINE and I do not want to say that brand as Lolita brand as former lolita, but the era has changed ......
>Do not believe me !!! Do not introduce it on a biscuit shop like BODY LINE Idiot (angry) Many love maisons are also suffering from design theft, so I can not really forgive them. Because it is cheap or genuine is expensive so it is fake or poverty so it is pleasant to understand but since I have respect for clothes I will endure it! It is! It is! Crying
>I seem to have interviewed BODYLINE at Hirnandez, but please do not wear that Lolita because it is plagiarism. Just a blouse only ~ or shoes only ~ If you do not have JSK hija dressed in cloth and it is plagiarism Please do not wear w Costume of a character and maid clothes are good. Can you tell me about such a story? W
>Even though I graduate, I'd like to say bigger but I do not admit that Rolita is wearing bodywire (BODY LINE) saying Rolita. Although saying it is expensive, sale, lucky bags or second hand, if you save a little money you can welcome regular brands.

I need some serious help please.

One of my dresses has satin bows which I did not realize would require special care.

I got caught in a light rain yesterday and didn't have access to a coat/jacket. Now the bows have what I assume are water stains. I looked at tutorials but none of them seem like something I can easily do. Is there a trick to getting them out of small areas? The bows are fairly large and have many streaks on them from the water stains. Would just wetting them entirely help, like darken them completely? If not, does anyone have any easy tricks?

(They are pink too, so I am worried about discoloration with some of the treatments I read about.)
>>
>>9555072
Nice to know some things are the same both home and abroad when it comes to Bodyline.

Ok, so my mother has all of a sudden decided that I shouldn't wear lolita because there are "men that are attracted to that sort of thing." (Read: creepy fetishists.) I know she means well, but for one, I'm 18, and I also have explained to her many a time how many precautions I take against that kind of thing, and how pedos are attracted to children and not women in frilly dresses. (I do look pretty young, so I can see why she's worried, I guess.) She's the kind of mom that thinks everyone online is a creepy old man. Sorry for the blog post, but I'm in desperate need of some advice.
>>
>>9555137
Are you going away for college any time soon?
At 18 she really shouldn't be telling you what to do, but the caveat is if you're living with her in her house then it's her rules. Im sure she means the best but I think long term it's be better for your relationship with her to look towards getting your own place. Short term maybe you can compromise with her, like introduce her to some of your Lolita friends and say "I'll only wear it during the day time and when I'm in a group with these people, and I'll let you know when I'm wearing it and where I'm going"

If you aren't living at home and she's telling you this, then idk man. Going behind your parent's back isn't fun but this isn't you going to drink underage or sell drugs. Just do you.
>>
>>9555151

I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually this. More than likely it's Chinese people living in Japan selling the replicas as they would have easy access to getting ahold of one. I just can't see Japanese lolitas doing it with how brand obsessed their culture is. But when visiting Japan there were a larger amount of Chinese lolitas vs Japanese lolitas that I saw.

I've never had satin bows getting spots on them after rain. I do know that silk is a lot more prone to that as it's a natural fiber. I'm asuming your satin is polyester.

if you're a bit handy, you could take them off carefully with a seamripper (taken they aren't glued on), soak them for a bit so they get dark, and after they dry they should be okay again.

but just to be sure, use a bow that's on a non-prominent place, like the back or a waisttie if possible.

mercari takes a 10% fee for all items, fril does not take out anything. However, if you want to transfer money you earned to your bank account it is free over 10.000yen on mercari, while it costs 200something yen on fril regardless of the amount.

Wearing lolita is not more dangerous than being a woman out in the streets. At least in lolita people will recognize you and pay attention to you in the case of a crime.

Also, why is it your problem if strangers have a fetish? People have fetishes of fat people and feet as well, should fat folks and bare-feeted people live in fear as well?

There's a magic sizing where if you're not too thin or too fat, not flat-chest, not too tall nor too short for the dress, and then they actually look pretty cute.

But you're right in that they're normally made for much bigger girls, so I agree that skinny girls should try and avoid them unless they intend to take the dress to a tailors and have it modified to fit.

>larger amount of Chinese lolitas vs Japanese lolitas

Yeah, that's what made me type the comment. Realise now it might make me seem racist, but having visited Japan maybe 3 times in the last 6 years it's slow enough and long enough that I notice the lolitas now look more like cosplaying tourists.

>>9555409

Someone posted translations of Misako's book in the otome thread, I'd say that's not too ancient.
>>

>>
>>9555350
Thank you for your answer! So basically, if you see the same item on fril, you can better buy it there, because it will most likely cost less in the end?
>>
>>9555438
Most are not actually. The few that are are the ones everyone wants tho.
>>
>>9555640
Well, you still pay the listed price plus any SS fees...so just look at the price, that's kind of the bottom line.

>>9554656
The only time in lolita where being curvy up top - like actual curvy, not a beach ball/landwhale - is better than being flattish. Big boobs on small-average ribcage/waist is the most flattering upper body shape imo. So 6" minimum difference between bust and underbust if you have a small ribcage (like, 70 ribcage) and waist should be small proportionally too.
>>
>>9555670
Huh, that's me. Maybe I should try some fully shirred dresses.
>>
>>9555640
Yes, unless the SS you use charges different fees depending on where you buy but that would seem unlikely (I don't use SS so I wouldn't know) or if the seller has it listed as shipping included on one and not included on the other, which is also very unlikely.

So for my belated b-day present that my parents promised me I'm allowed to pick out one outfit from AP's San Francisco store and I'm torn between the Romantic Cat JSK or the Fancy Whip JSK.

Which do y'all think I should get based on rarity & price hikes in the future? Also which one is more suited for fatty-chans? For references sake while I don't know my exact measurements I'm about a US size 12 or 14, so just about on the borderline for 'plus-size.'
>>

>Captcha: Helicopter (Helicopter loli indeed)
>>
>>9555843
>i still remember the bloodbath prints
For one, if you've been a lolita for a while you would know your measurements.
For two, if you'd been around that long to have seen CTP released, you would be fucking smart enough to check on LM and see how often the prints you're interested in have popped up.

Stop trying to pretend you aren't new, its not working. And do the fucking work.
>>
>>9555847
1. That's cause I've yet to actually wear any of dresses yet, I've been collecting/hoarding Lolita for years now but refuse to join a comm or wear them daily cause I'm using them for dates only. (I've yet to be on a date in years despite looking due to my parent's narrow religious restrictions & how hard it is to find a decent-looking alpha kike guy) so no I don't know my measurements cause I haven't had the chance to actually wear my shit yet, I just buy whatever has shirring and call it a day but when I'm stuck between two dresses like I am now I'd like to choose the one that's at least a BIT more plus-size friendly.

2. These are brand new releases so I'm asking based on /cgl/ predictions & will buy based on that.
>>
>>9555827
You're over weight and haven't reached a healthy weight and you think you deserve a reward? Lol.

>>

Not gigantically fat, I'm currently around 150 lbs at 5'1-5'4 height (forgot my exact height but somewhere around that) & I'm not lying I just prefer to dress up to appeal to guys only, if I don't have any steady dates to dress up for I'm a lazy ass that just lies around in casual wear all day.

>being short & weighing 150lbs is being gigantically fat

No that's just being overweight or normal obese, GIGANTICALLY fat is someone who would be that short but weights in the 200's, get your facts straight.

Believe me I know, but now I'm finally working on it. The funny thing is, I'm not a big eater in general or even a meat eater. I pretty much only eat chicken and/or cheese sandwiches, what did me in is my sweet tooth, I had (still have though am now weaning myself off) a MAJOR sweets addiction ever since I was little & it finally caught up to me once I reached my teens.

Seriously though sugar is addicting as fuck, in my view its really no different than tobacco or drugs, can you really blame me if I ballooned up the way I did? What would you say to smokers, drug addicts or alcoholics? I'm basically the equivalent to them only with sugar.

Baguette translator here. I am feeling bored. Anything french you would want me to translate?
I found this old (circa 2011) reality show on dailymotion about a french sweet lolita who dressed in lolita everyday at 18 but her stepfather hate the style so much and feels so uneasy around her that their relation went to shit and they'll be following their story (there's also a parallel story of another little girl but we don't care about this one, her stepfather is a jerk too tho).

And there's a cringe documentary about lolitas,rockers,...and the like on youtube. The main girl interviewed litterally says they're "little princesses".

There used to be a documentary about this one girl called Sabi Ryaji who was a jobless daily lolita but it got deleted

I actually was suspecting it would be Romantic cat based on the previous Dolly Cat release, but I wanted to make sure on /cgl/ anyways, especially since AP has released so many cat prints by now maybe that would tone down this one's after-market rarity?

I love both dresses so so much & honestly can't choose so I'm going to go purely based off of better fit & rarity, which is why I wanna make sure I get the latter prediction's down correctly.

Nayrt and this is veering off topic but every decision you make is YOUR choice. I feel sympathy for anyone with a drug, cig, sugar/carb dependency and I understand it makes it much harder to quit. I've been there.

However- it's your own decisions that led to this point. Even if it's fueled by anxiety or another mental health issue, you choose the direction of your actions.

So while I might not blame anyone, I attribute the cause of the problem to that individual. People can't complain about symptoms and disconnect it from any sense of self responsibility.

Nobody needs to be defensive either.

Here is a foolproof way to know how rare a print is!

Is the dress in stock at full price? Is it on sale?

If the answer is yes to either then the dress is not "rare" and will got the second hand market sooner or later. Skinny bitches hungry for AP would have already bought up all the popular prints since they don't need to check for fit.

From a health standpoint, it's important to remember your height for if you ever end up in an emergency room; it's easier for hospital staff to estimate or weigh you, but if you can't stand it can be hard to measure your height. This is important because it affects dosing and over-estimating your height can become dangerous.

BTW, why is it that brands don't embrace hoop skirts for summer instead of petticoats?

Bodyline sometimes makes "intresting" color combinations that brands either never try or don't for several years passed when BL did it. Right now they've got some dresses that have brown or purple lace with the print having a cream base (the lace color is in the print, it's just not the main color of the fabric) and I think that's a cool idea that makes the BL piece seem more original and worthwhile.

>hoop skirts

Atelier Pierrot just posted a "wire pannier" from Triple Fortune on their blog. It's actually the first time I've seen a Japanese brand make a hoop skirt.

I suspect it's because Japan is rather narrow -- most train stations have narrow gates and sometimes the escalators themselves are quite narrow, or have the bars to stop people from pushing trolleys and prams onto them. A fluffy petticoat could squish down past it, I think a hoop skirt would have problems.

(there's usually a wider disabled gate and elevators for those in wheelchairs, but it's gotta be even weirder to use that just because you're wearing a wire hoop skirt).

>>
>>9557069
Why do you say that? It doesn't seem to have patterns. I think lolitas active in the Westen community don't care about Japanese magazines anymore. Eternita didn't even get scanned, I wonder if they'll manage to release more volumes. And a lot of people don't know Eternita, Kerastyle, Jabberwocky and Melt exist.

They're just a Taobao reseller. I remember a few years ago I asked them (may've been their ebay) to check if they could order an Infanta underdress in a colorway that was out of stock on their site and the replies were pretty speedy. I was pretty new to taobao shit so I didn't know how any of it worked.

If you don't want to deal with a shopping service/ okay with a reseller, I think my-lolita-dress is a little better with replies / actively updates their stock. GlitzyWonderland feels like they haven't changed anything in years aside from some sock giveaways and sales.

Could be liners if that is less ew to you, but tampons don't work for everyone (sadly). Also like >>9556387 said, pads may be a lot more common if they're cheaper and its what people are used to.
>>
I posted this in the handmade thread too but just so I can get as many examples as I can -

do you guys have favorite cuts of dress?
do you often find correlation between prints and what kind of cuts they get?
do you have any examples of dresses where there is a correlation between print and cut but it's not very obvious?

Yeah. Those are the girls I don't want to fuck.

>inb4 ur a guy
Nope. I have vagine and I definitely have a preference for others.
>>

tampons are most gross and bad for your body
>>
>>9557135
How? It keeps the blood inside and they don't hurt you unless you're lazy and don't know how to change them often.
>>
>>9557135
Seems grosser to have a cotton absorbant slab half full of blood and tissue pressed right up on your junk. Like a steamy diaper. I use pads when I have to or when the flow is light, but once I started using tampons, it was just so much more comfortable. Can't go back now.
>>
>>9557145
I think it's grosser to have that diaper full of chemicals literally inside your body but whatever, I use cups
>>
>>9557151

Itt: women low key shaming other women for how they deal with their periods.
Sisterhood!
>>
>>9557084

To be fair, GLB scans stopped being shared on egl because the replica-chans threw a tantrum that if they can't flaunt replicas on egl, then other nice things should not be allowed on egl either. After that it feels like most girls who scan magazines get very little support/readers, so I'm not really surprised if girls stopped doing it because it feels like something they could catch flak for.
>>
>>9557151
A diaper isn't insert-able.

That being said, I also use a cup cause I never have to do anything and it doesn't hurt me at all. It can be a hassle to put in though, but I rarely have periods so it's not a big deal for me.

Pads are fucking gross though. Dried blood just rubbing on your vag all day? Disgusting.

>>
>>9557163

>>9557164

>>
>>9557193
They don't have a choice. Women are culturally shamed for it in Japan. Males can't know they exist. You buy it at a conbini and the person ringing you up will switch to a female and it will be bagged in brown paper inside a second bag. Can't let anyone know you have a period.
>>
>>9557265
Why are men so fragile kek, why can't they just deal about us having periods? It's not like we were loudly yelling about blood coming out from our v zone, but it should def be normalized, geez. It's nothing shameful we can't help it.

I care a lot about older magazines but I don't like the current direction of lolita style enough to want to pay for a magazine where the only bits I'll care about will end up on Updates anyway and (by definition with the physical format) I can't save images that inspire me to my inspo format without scanning it myself.

I feel kinda bad desu since I've still spent a couple of hundred on lolita magazines, they're just all second-hand and doesn't support the scene.
>>
>>9557079
You're probably going to have to buy a normal lolita coat and layer a thin lolita raincoat over it.

That or get a very thick wool one - wool stays warm when wet and has some waterproofing but takes ages to dry and will become incredibly heavy if it absorbs rain.
>>
>>9557309
What do you dislike about it?
I really like Eternita because it had some more wearable coords compared to the newer GLBs, and easy DIY stuff.
I want to know more about the content of Melt before I buy it since I don't need the bag.
About Kerastyle it annoys me that so much of the info is on images because I can't translate it that way.
I just looked at Jabberwocky.tokyo for the first time and I like it but I don't expect gulls to like it since more creative/''punk'' styles and h.naoto seem to be unpopular here. I love the interviews but again I can't translate images on my laptop.
Girlism I only looked at their insta and I don't care enough to find out more but I did notice they treat Rosemarie Seoir as lolita.

Anyone tried the android version of Aliceholic yet? It has like 2.2 stars, was wondering if it's worth downloading or I should just stick to lolita amino.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aliceholic.tanaqro
>>
>>9557338
I think it's worth it because I want to look at coord pictures and find good lolitas to follow. I deleted fb and animo because I'm tired of the things Westen lolitas constantly discuss, and I feel like there are a lot of people with 0-2 coords total stating their opinions as facts.
>>
>>9557265
Oh wow, I didn't know that women are actually shamed for their peroid. I just wondered why there were no tampons to be seen in Japan, yet lots of different pads. Somebody told me that japanese women have a very light period and there is this very weird rumor spread that japanese woman can't wear tampons because they might cause a reaction.
>>
>>9557269
It's icky and men can't fuck us when we're all bloody so we should be ashamed, didnt you know?

AP is rereleasing Mademoiselle De Paris, and Lady in the Summer Resort OP.
>AP: Should we rerelease bloodbath dresses?
>Dark AP: No, let them suffer.
>>
>>9557338
I can't speak for the app because I use the browser version (can't read moonrunes) but when it comes to coordseabd photos, the quality on AliceHolic is far better than Lolita Amino.

>>9557265
>>9557358
I've never visited Japan but have been in several other East and Southeast Asian countries and it seems to be the same everywhere. No tampons to be found, and the pads they sell are super tiny and more like mini pantyliners. My period isn't even bad but I definitely got in a bit of trouble when it showed up two weeks early and I didn't bring enough tampons/pads of my own.
>sorry for TMI
>>
>>9555982
You do know most dresses are clipped/pinned or even slightly altered in brand shoots for models, right??
>>
>>9557345
>>9557380

I was actually more curious if there's extra functionality to the app since the browser only allows you to like and follow -- might've been nice to be able to search by brand or comment and ask someone about their clothes. I take it it works exactly the same as their web version, then.

>people with 0-2 coords total stating their opinions as facts.

Holy. I think this is the best reason yet to start using it instead of amino. Thanks, anon.
>>
>>9557368

Out of curiosity I just checked both series on their shop. Most of it is indeed sold out (there's leftovers in like one colour and maybe another 2 colours needs to be special ordered).

I guess with the lack of bloodbaths these days that counts as a win for AP. Though with that logic you'd think they'd be tripping all over themselves to re-release Fancy Hospital.
>>
>>9557419
Fancy hospital will probably come in a few months.
>>
>>9557193
I think pads are way more comfortable than tampons... I'd rather flow freely than plug myself up with dry cotton. But also I have a really light period and I only have to wear something bigger than a liner on my first day and it doesn't even come close to getting "full" - I feel bad for girls who have to use overnight pads/tampons and actually come close to filling them.
>>
>>9557427
>I feel bad for girls who have to use overnight pads/tampons and actually come close to filling them.
That was me before going on birth control, I didn't dare wear lolita while on my period because they got so bad.

>What is toxic shock syndrome
It's not about not changing your tampon in less than 30 hours or whatever because you're lazy
Those instances where it takes that long to happen are from cups and menstrual sponges.
Tampons are perfect environments because the staph bacteria is naturally present in you vag. If you have a heavy flow and you're working a long shift, it's probably not a good thing. Your flow on that nice fluffy cotton blood plug is going to breed staph like no tomorrow, especially if you sweat while working, walking, etc.
I mean, i suppose that tampons are okay if you don't have a heavy flow and change often. It's really your choice. Periods aren't gross and they shouldn't be, if we could turn it off like a faucet or some shit, we would. TSS only happens when the factors to create it are present.

Who cares is Misako wears a pad and Minori wears a tampon like damn. This is a whole new level of lolita general shitty useless debates
>>
>>9557430
Very interesting, anon. Would you mind saying if you have PCOS? That was what I was diagnosed with, I was literally wearing those huge overnight diaper pads during the day for 20 days a month at eleven years old because of my flow before I went on birth control.
Sorry for tmi, you don't have to say if you don't want to! Just wondering if it was more common than I used to think.
>>
>>9557446
You know I was never tested for that, I was always just told 'some girls have it worse than others, deal with it' rather than ever getting an explanation of some kind. I'm on the Depo shot now and I haven't had a period in a few years and I don't have horrible mood swings anymore.
Might go to the doc and get checked out,

You do know that woman choose to hide their periods voluntarily, right? Consumer culture is controlled mostly by women in first world countries, who have the majority control over the house hold money; meaning most women who don't earn as much as their husbands actually control most of his pay check anyway. In Japan, it is common for men to surrender the financial decision making to the female spouse or girlfriend. So when a female clerk rings you out instead of a male clerk, and when they place it in a brown bag instead of a clear bag; that's because it's what the average female Japanese consumer wants. If they wanted it to work differently, businesses would instantly switch to the new, preferred method.
And yes, women shouldn't feel pressured to hide their periods, but if they WANT to and CHOOSE to you shouldn't shame them for making a choice that is then reflected in the society they reside in.

>>9557320
I'm going to buy Melt as soon as Kinokuniya makes it available. The official retail release date is now three days out.

>>9557338
I have it on my iphone and it's a much more simplistic set up then Amino. There aren't user-run groups and stuff like that; it's just your pictures and everyone else's pictures. It tracks which pictures you like, who's favorited you, simple stuff like that. It's not really meant for correspondence, just image sharing really. If you want to try it out, you can use the browser version. That's the version I use to save space on my phone.

Doing something because you're embarrassed and could get shamed for it isn't the same as wanting to/choosing to do something of your own free will.

Like, I'm not a Japanese woman so I can't say for sure one way or another, but neither can you. It's laughable to say that everything a woman does was done out of free choice.

>>

If they're trying to hide their periods they're doing it wrong. You can't conceal the scent if you're wearing a pad. I've smelled girls who reek on their period and then found out later on it was because they were wearing pads.

Listen. Dried blood in your pubes that stinks is gross. That isn't how you hide something, it's how you broadcast it.

Knowing the Japanese, it's probably one of the many "shameful" things they secretly fetishize. They probably WANT their husband to smell that shit. And then they do the usual "oh, so shameful when I buy!" bullshit.
>>
>>9557493
>letting your emotions control your actions
You're not exactly defending them here.
>>
>>9557483
It doesn't go for that much on the Japanese market and didn't sell out on release (in face, it was on the site ages and I think it might even have gone on sale). Odds on they have no idea how much it's worth, someone should ask them with proof at the Q&A of an event they're attending.
>>
>>9557113

>>
>>9557538
I mean, responding to societal pressure is necessary for anyone that wants to function harmoniously in society, if you don't let emotions or people's opinions affect you at all you're going to have a hard time surviving the workplace.

>>9557543
Repost in the next thread, this one is too far gone.
>>
>>9557483
I think it's been mentioned multiple times - Honey Cake was not a hot seller in its initial release, it really is more of a cult favorite rather than release bloodbath.

I'd prefer they re-release fucking melty ribbon chocolate considering that shit was a bloodbath and it's hard as shit to get it at a decent price secondhand.
>>
>>9557527
I'm >>9557435 and I'm also from the Netherlands. I don't think society as a whole shames me for it but the people I grew up with definitely did. I was really frightened about people at school finding out I had periods and would sometimes pretend to be sick because I didn't want to draw attention to myself going to the toilet with something in my hand. Sage for OT.
