With AFW this week and Sausomecon next week, I figure it's easier just to make a Kansas thread.
Which con are you going to?
What's your cosplay/coord line up?
Any panels we should watch out for?
Interested in joining our Kansas LINE chat we made after Naka-Kon?

I moved to Kansas four years ago after working fuckhuge conventions like NYCC, AnimeNext, and Dragoncon. For the first two years I wanted to try taking it easy it at AFW, only to get total radio silence from the staff after submitting my application and after emailing them several times.
My husband worked for both NECA and McFarlane as toy sculptor, and I'm an award-winning cosplayer. We wanted to give them our money and buy one of their overpriced Artist's tables, and give them our time to maybe do a fun and useful cosplay prop construction panel.
I don't mean to be even more of a pretentious fuck, but if the AFW staff can't even be assed to reply to industry professionals that want to work for free, how the fuck is this convention still running?
A co-worker bought me a Saturday ticket to this dumpster fire, so I guess I'll finally see for myself. In goddamn plainclothes.
I might do these if they halved the price of admission...

Desu? Wtf is that filter

Roody-poo
I'm choosing AFW over sausomeconeven thought it's a further drive and maybe a smaller con because sauce is riddled with drama and encourages sexual predators in its staff.
>repeat guests already
>no big name guest this year
>probably rain, too
>but still only a few minutes away
wooo cant wait...
At AFW. Who else is here and where we meeting?

I'll be there tomorrow.
I didn't see anything interesting going on for a weekend pass
Afw is like 90% artist alley but desu I'm kinda chill with it.
Where/when cgl meetup?
>>9530988
I can do a meet if we plan it in the afternoon
Say hi if you spot me!
I know at least know of three gulls here
I low key love afw. It was the first con I ever went to when I was 14, and in 11 years it still feels like a chill fun weekend every time. It's so low pressure if your cosplay breaks or if there's friend drama, the location is super beautiful, and it just has a really different feel than a big con. I love how it makes me feel like a spontaneous and free spirited young weeb again.
I almost felt like popping down a Bluetooth speaker for some impromptu dance groups.

off the wall question but did you move here from california? I did a job once for a proffesional sculpter and his family, he was nice guy and gave me two autographed Dc comics since his brother is an artist for them. sound familiar this was around comicon of last year.
What were some of the highlights of afw for you guys?
>the 18+ dating thing
That was funny but too short, the host tried a little too hard to be part of the event, and there were some awkward spergs that were just boring and hard to look at.
>karaoke
That was pretty fun at times. A few people went up and were awkward, but I sort of expected that to happen.
That was kind of it for me. It's a pretty small con and everyone was really young.
cool. sausome added (god-tier) H viewings and a dating panel.
Who all /Sausome/ this weekend?
Lmao what the fuck sausomecon
It feels weird. I don't really have anything to complain about sausomecon this year. Maybe more or better guests and that's it.

No surprise, antique dealers have no controll over their life so they pop up everywhere even if the place isnt right.
Then they go home and complain that they didnt sell anything.

the sign said something like Japan Sister City
