Are you new? Not saying it in a condescending way, but just because a coord has black doesn't mean it's gothic.

I don't want to be that anon but honestly I just thought of this. Even though bitter sweet was never a thing and I am not trying to argue that it is so calm your tits. If it did exist these threads probably wouldn't be derailed and we would be able to pidgeon hole sweet/ gothic crossovers more amicably.

Yes, yes I know black coords of sweet things aren't gothic, and bittersweet is'nt a substyle. But it is kind of frustrating watching people argue that a coord that is a 50/50- 40/50 split of clearly gothic motifs, items, themes and clearly sweet cuts, fabrics etc. is one thing or the other. It is an amalgum of both so un-bunch your bloomers and give it a non tumbl-tier name or something.

Why not just follow goth subculture rules? Plain black isn't gothic unless everything else is and gothic or gothic inspired prints are close enough? A lot of it depends on make up and styling anyway. Nobody would question if this were gothic if a mana clone was wearing it for example.

definitely, the deconstructed bottom is very casual and would work well in a western goth way, with a long, wispy black cardigan or something. It could be dressed up or down. Don't buy it if you don't really want it, though.

This. I see so many posts that the coordinate itself kind of straddles the fence between gothic and some other substyle, but then when you look at the makeup and the way they actually wore the pieces, it's quite solidly gothic. I think >>9492552 is a good example.
