I'm still not understanding how people try and pretend Menhera is some super concrete style when nips are essentially wearing Tumblr vomit like this and getting away with passing it off as Menhera.

I dont know what is with that girl and choosing the worst colors. She previously did these and I am just not a fan of the color palette.
>>
>>9464976
It is not exactly her fault tho as the colors are decided by user voting on Tumblr.
>>
>>9465001
It's her fault for putting the colors together in the first place. Like, why the heck is there blue in the greenxpurple colorway?
>>
>>9465004
Instead of complaining like a little bitch, go make your own pins in colors you prefer!
>>
>>9465011
I don't even collect pins, I'm just criticizing her color choices. How can she be an artist and not have a grasp of color theory?
>>
>>9465014
How can you be such a little bitch that you complain about things you don't even have interest in buying?

She's not even an artist. She creates crafts, but not art hence the concept picture related:

>>
>>9465011
This is a board for discussion. We are allowed to express our opinions. Stop being butthurt because someone didn't like your bizarre color choices. Constructive criticism about the color palette or design is better than just saying "I don't like it" because if you say that here, someone in this thread will accuse you of yellow fever
>>
>>9465004
The real question is why is there a green x purple color? Those colors look awful together. If she was smart, she'd offer a pink/pastel colorway in appealing colors (meaning no green), and a black/red colorway, to cater to those who prefer both the pastel look and the dark look

Not to add to the crabbiness, but I don't think anyone "pretends" that menhera is as concrete as let's say..lolita. I don't think it being concrete would make it very interesting, but I will say that these outfits aren't as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as others..
>>
>>9463848
Her manufacturer is Digitalartwear right? Not a lot of places offer printed thigh highs, so I hope she's able to find a new, better manufacturer soon.
>>
>>9465477
Yup, they suck. I emailed them about printing some socks and they never responded
>>
>>9465477
Oh seriously lol? I thought it was somewhere else. Because I thought when she first started she had one manufacturer but then switched. Digitalartwear is the only place I personally know of that does printed knee highs. So I thought she lucked out and found another manufacturer but I guess not
>>
>>9465488
They offer socks listed as "knee highs" (not sure if they're otks or utks because the picture doesn't show it on a model) and socks listed as thigh highs, which are definitely thigh high. I think the reason there are so few companies that print them is just lack of demand, and it really sucks for small artists like CC who don't get enough orders for it to be cost efficient to contract a factory in China to print custom socks. I wonder where all these small Japanese designers get their stuff printed? Like Namekujisalt and Whoopingcough, I wonder where they get their thigh highs printed
>>
>>9465318
Because they are the ones that buy it? There is no point in making colorways that won't sell.
>>
>>9465520
>I wonder where they get their thigh highs printed
There are quite a few companies that offer printing hosiery, the manufacturer behind https://kawaii-funding.com/ is one of them (a few Menhera indie brands use that site now, too).
>>
>>9465187
Ok then, different anon here, can it bro. Legit no one gives two fucks.
>>
Stupid question but why is the kagome crest such a popular motif in menhera?
>>
>>9465638
"Due to the occult sybolism, it is very popular within the magical girl genre and therefore made it quickly into the outfits of cute jfashion styles. Just like the pentagram, it is a popular talisman for keeping evil spirits (such as sickness) away."

Quote from fymenhera

Ty anon, this was the sort of answer I was looking for. I think hexagrams are a cool symbol but here in America the first association is Judaism so I feel weird wearing them, even the tiny little one on my menhera-chan shirt.
>>
>>9465563
There are plenty of companies I've found that offer printed tights, no show/ankle socks, crew cut socks, and even under the knee socks but finding companies that do custom printed thigh highs is hard. Are there other companies you know of? I'm not sure I can use that website you linked because they probably only take Japanese cards and I'm not sure you can go through an SS for something where you get money instead of spending it

http://www.textile-net.jp/digital_print/tights_print.html
Couldn't most screenprinting shops do tigh highs tho?
>>
>>9465770
I wouldn't have a problem going through the hassle of an SS, but in this case, it would drive the price up and therefore I would have to sell socks at a higher price. Thanks anyways though. Ugh. Digitalartwear either needs to fix their shit or we need to hope another western manufacturer decides to offer printed thigh highs.
>>
>>9465783
If you have an Etsy shop, go to the shop dashboard. You'll find a section called "production assistance". Click "find a partner", and select printing/dye sublimation/fabric and textiles/apparel from the criteria. Make sure you set the location to "anywhere".

That's my last straw as an option. I noticed many offered "wide format" or printing up to 4 feet. It'll be a pain, but it might be worth contacting each individual company.

That's great for her, I'm glad she's doing well, she's had her shop for about a year now and I remember back when she was just showing everyone her ideas for the socks in these threads. The next move for her would be to offer more stock next time to turn a larger profit

despite all my googling I cant really find anywhere I feel like a complete fool

So totally different to the futa and loli art that was posted some pages back that had everyone gushing over it?

Guess what, Kuua is gay and likes to draw girls with tentacles and such. What's that it's not fetish if I specifically happen to like it? Only if it's something I don't like?
>>
>>9470375
>So totally different to the futa and loli art that was posted some pages back that had everyone gushing over it?
The futa and loli merch were primarily feminine in tone, used light/pastely colors, and were girly and cute, which is kind of integral to Menhera looks. If they looked like the deviantart abomination that got reblogged, nobody would be gushing over it.
Muscle is not kawaii. Deal with it. At best, it can be a joke when it's put into feminine contexts (see: Ladybaby) and at worst, it's some weirdo's jack off material.
It doesn't fit the aesthetic. Just fucking live with it.
Kuua Oyasumi's art generally has a girly, visually pleasing tone to it even though it may deal in paraphilias. That is what makes the work of hers that gets lauded and posted here aesthetically acceptable and related to the thread. >>9469876,
however, does not. The colors are clashing, the character's face is botched, the anatomy is something out of a 12 year old's poorly-drawn superhero fancomic, and the syringe wasn't even fully drawn. No one in their right mind would wear that on a shirt or otherwise support it, unless they're getting off on it.

We may finally get more tigh highs.

The company 9D Apparel has responded that if the customer provides the tights or thigh-high socks, that they could do the printing. They said they print on every material imaginable even nylon, polyester, and rayon. They said their minimum is 25 per order. They followed up with, "If the customer needs us to provide the garment as well, that is also possible." Their email is g7.kbhps @ gmail . com.

On a different note, I need some concrit on this outfit. It's defiantly a level up from the first outfit i posted, but it still needs a lot of work. I know you guys won't let me off easy.
>>
>>9470615
>>
>>9470616
I'd love to give you concrit, but I can barely see your outfit due to the wig and color balance. A flat coord might be more helpful, but I would ditch the eye patch because it makes it a little costumey
>>
>>9470616
Ah! The necklace. I love the star on it. I don't really have any critique. I like everything in the outfit except the floppy bow. I guess that's personal taste, but maybe a different hair accessory. If you really wanted to up the magical girl theme factor, you could do spiral or plain curls in the bottom of your hair.
>>
>>9470616
Get rid of the syringe necklace. The yellow is really distracting, even with the yellow in your shirt
>>
>>9470616
I like the colour coordination and makeup.
That said, to me, this look is more of a "miss" than a hit. It's too fussy to be casual, but too sloppy to feel "dressed to impress." Sneakers are a no-go -- try clunkier shoes with a bit of platform and you will be shocked how much it pulls an outfit together. Casual sneakers and a garter are especially incongruous.

Oh, and are the accessories from the neck up a bit cheap, in terms of materials. When you're going to wear eyecatching stuff, that's the time to splurge a bit more for quality lace/ribbon/craftsmanship.
>>
>>9470620
Sorry about the quality, all I had from this outfit where bad selfies. Will look for a better way to place the hair next time. It defiantly covers up what I want to be shown.
>>9470626
Thank you! It was actually an item from CC before she stopped making them. As for the bow it was kind of a place holder since I really didn't know what to top off the outfit with. Maybe doing some twin tails or a different wig would suit this since it's covering up so much?
>>9470647
Is it too much yellow concentrated in one area? Should I think about maybe placing more yellow-ish tones in other places or just get rid of it as a whole?
>>9470648
Thank you! Should I gravitate towards casual instead of over the top? Going to try and get better shoes for this, but I've always been nervous of platforms. Noted on the eye patch, thinking of redoing it or just disregarding the whole thing since it was made in an hour.
>>
>>9470616
That top is everything but Menhera. I mean, how would you think a cat with sunglasses on top of the moon would fit?
>>
>>9470559
>likes to draw girls with tentacles and such. What's that it's not fetish if I specifically happen to like it?
Reading helps, how is the tentacle rape homosexuality and not a fetish?
>>
>>9470664
I think it's best to figure out the core of your look before you start going nuts on accessories. It's easy to say, "I'll put on all my Menhera accessories to make it more Menhera!" but accessories are there to complement the rest of the look, and adding ones that don't go well with each other or the main piece detracts. So instead of thinking, "I'll add theme with accessories," put on an outfit with a good silhouette and proper bag and shoes, then think, "What kind of item should I add? My arms look plain so I'll put on a cuff, and maybe a choker to add interest at the neckline" ... something like that... and then you make sure everything you're adding plays together nicely. Unless you're doing an amazing job curating your purchases, it takes a big collection of accessories be able to wear a lot at once and have it come off as cohesive.
>>
>>9470673
I agree, even though it is Listen Flavor, there is no menhera element. You cannot force fairy kei prints into menhera
>>
>>9470664
Just use your natural hair if its a decent cut/length and isn't some clashing color. This is supposed to be a wearable fashion

I think I see what you're going for, pastels can totally work in menhera but you have to balance them a bit more.

I think you should get rid of the bow, syringe necklace and the eyepatch. I also think you should get a fitting platform. They don't need to be super tall but the height will even out your body when wearing an oversized print.

Your top is LF, right? They have other prints that are better for memhera. Dreamybows carries some of their older things I believe.
>>
>>9470616
The top is obviously not menhera but I don't get why people are hating on the syringe necklace I think it's super cute. The bow seems too top heavy and the eyepatch could work if the top has one kind of broken heart theme otherwise the hearts seem kinda out of place.
>>
>>9471526
They may not have been able to find your art. It's mostly stuff off twitter or tumblr that will be reblogged. It's also true that it needs to be medical/sickness, not simply gore. It also depends on what you are drawing. I'm not implying you might be drawing really graphic things, but some really graphic stuff can't get reblogged from my understanding. There's shirts even that don't get reblogged if the content is too morbid/graphic.

If your art contains really graphic depictions of self-mutilation for example, they may can't reblog it for good reason. It also may not be cute. Cute is a very loose term, but some stuff is more dark art then cute art.

Hey anons, so I was wondering, what do you guys think about adding a cultural twist to Menhera/Gurokawa so that it better reflects issues relevant to your home country/ something more personal? This could mean still staying in-keeping with aesthetics that keep it looking cohesive and relevant, but with a national type relevance.

I was kind of thinking about this yesterday. THe idol shop released a top which mentions "May sickness" which is a Japanese thing where people lose their motivation after the start of the school /working year as schools start new years in April in Japan. Other countries would have different months for this(most likely September or October) but it's still not really a thing here but it made me think.
>>
>>9479642
It'd work. I'd maybe add an explanation depending on what themes and motifs you drawn into your art and designs for clarity. However, most motifs and themes, even from a cultural standpoint outside Japan, should be fairly self explanatory to most.

I personally think it's an excellent idea. Negativity takes many forms, and it is interesting to see new things.

Anyone know where to find menhera OTKs that fit chubby/thick thighs or have a decent stretch to them? I'm a UK 12-14, not super huge but I don't want to spend £30 on a pair of thigh highs that won't go past my knees
>>
>>9486068
I don't know about CC's because I haven't tried them yet, but the LF ones definitely wouldn't. I'm sure you weren't planning to get ones in Asian sizes anyway, but in case you get tempted - for reference, I'm about a UK 8 and they're still tight on me.

CC has a tag for photos with customers - some of them might be your size so it may be worth looking through the pictures?

>>

I don't know if they'd go well with menhera, but I think they'd sell well with the general weeb crowd
>>
>>9489698
Good point. I guess they do crop up sometimes. It's mostly just a personal bias, to be completely honest. Although, I think they're fine if they have a purpose and are kept pretty simple, but if it's a snapback that is so loud it would become a focal point like anon was proposing, with shit like 'YANDERE' spelled out with plastic letters and blood splatters and whatever the fuck else, it would stand out way too much for something that doesn't really have the correct motifs.

Just my opinion of course, feel free to disagree. Maybe some people could pull it off, I dunno. I won't be trying it any time soon is all I'm saying.

>doesnt like designing tights
I dont really see how they are that much different than designing OTKs. You can leave the top area plain if you even wanted since it gets covered with a skirt/dress/shorts/etc

>has to jack up the price
fatties dont care. They will pay if they have the option because they have limited options already.

What bothered me the most was the "im turning off the comments since I know people will be disappointed." Hmmm well they are your customers, maybe you should value their opinions and dissatisfaction a little more. It would be like working a retail job and have a customer come up to you with a complaint (not even in a rude manner), and just like "lol no" and walking away.

CC here. I'm sorry I really do feel bad but I cannot please everyone. Some people will always be unhappy with how anybody chooses anything. So I understand your response completely. I'm doing what I want to do this time. I do a lot of stuff based on customer feedback. But the tights are just really not my thing and I believe that to be okay. This is a great opportunity for other artists and designers to come in and cover that market. I know there's some great ones out there!

That's a dad hat (which I also love don't get me wrong). I am the original anon and honestly it was a late night fever dream that I thought might look cool with some more westernized masculine coordinates. How would you guys feel about some beanies instead? They'd end up being cheaper and probably more versatile.
>>
>>9490196
No. Just give up with your shitty tastes and go back to the Tumblr gender hell where you came from
>>
>>9490196
You very clearly don't understand menhera at all, lurk more and come back when you understand and learn that rules exist for a reason and you can't splatter blood on random shit and call it menhera, newfag
>>
>>9489698
I mean... I can only speak for myself, but I've never worn one in my life.
>>
>>9490196
My first thought was a definite no, but maybe they'd work for a winter coord in subtle designs? I don't think I've ever seen a winter coord so it's hard to say either way.
>>
>>9490196
Just remember when you design something meant as an accent piece that subtle can sometimes be better.
>>
>>9490196
Honestly not sure why you're getting such nasty responses, I've seen caps plenty in coord pictures. I was actually looking at designing some hats myself as I have issues with sunlight but I think making any hat stand out too much ends up just taking away from the core of your outfit which in menhera is always the top(followed by socks/tights if they're decorative).
>>
>>9490262
I admit I don't like the sound of the hat although I could see a market for that sort of product. The responses are outright nasty though. One can say they dislike an idea without being mean about it. I just think a more subtle design would be best. The only hat of that type featured in a photo features a very small heart with a medical cross.

Perhaps either use the Japanese character for "yandere" or "guro" on it's own embroidered on the hat, or the glittery blood on it's own. Maybe not... glittery blood and 'yandere' or 'guro' in huge letters in impact font across the whole of the bill.
>>
>>9490227
I was talking about the jp Menhera comm, not girls in general obviously.
>>
>>9490338
I meant as someone who wears the fashion who does not live in Japan. I don't see them too commonly on other people either. I've seen maybe one or two girls wearing them outside of Japan. Unless they are marketing to Japan, I assume they are asking if it would fly elsewhere.

Still, if they want to make it, they should make it.
>>
>>9490262
Eh, I've been on /cgl/ long enough to where nasty responses don't bother me too much. I just the idea of menhera style prints with westernized coordinates as I don't have the thin no-titty body type I see with the Japanese style coords. I'm still expanding my wardrobe.

If you really want western styled coords western goth seems the way to go. This and >>9491619 >>9491628 wouldn't really register as j-fashion on white models.
>>
>>9491632
Already on it. I've been into Western goth for a long while, but I never thought about mixing it in with menhera. Also thinking punk style would look cool with menhera prints.
>>
>>9491589
It's kind of hard to determine who does and doesn't have titties when it's nothing except oversize apparel. I have titties, and I wear the fashion. Titties shouldn't stop you. I get confused when I hear the word "westernized"... you mean wearing pants with an outfit?
>>
>>9491632
>wouldn't really register as j-fashion on white models.
Most casual jfashion isn't very japanese looking to begin with, it's usually only the makeup style that makes a difference.
>>
>>9491697
Pants or western style skirts, as well as other western pieces. Again I think a punk coordinate with menhera pieces would look really cool. Not really a menhera coordinate, just a menhera theme.

You don't have to wear pleated skirts if you don't want to. I wear pleated skirts, but I also love the uniforms that some Catholic schools still utilize. So I like the whole long sleeve sweater plus pleated skirt look. I wear them a little longer then usual. Knee-length.

You can make your outfits however you want. I haven't seen too many pants, but you could make it work.
>>
>>9491721
I'm talkin' real street trashy. Leather vests patched out, industrial style boots, short denim shorts and ripped fishnets, teased up hair...to the point where you couldn't call it menhera. Love those skirts btw.
>>
>>9491779
'Street trashy' is a much more specific term that gives a better idea of what you are going for. I don't see too many patches with that theme, but I see plenty of pins. The patches might be easy to D.I.Y. if you got a little bit of creative talent. I feel that would work. Leave the jacket open with a huge art print shirt underneath. Some accessories in the teased hair.

Bondage accessories would work really well tied into that kind of look.

Tights and collars are one thing but where do you even wear something like this outside of bdsm meets or whatever they do? I get a lot of sexual comments just from a tiny hint of it on prints and I'm basically dick repellent.

That's different from sexual harrassment though. Idgaf if some random hates my outfit, I do care when they follow me for two blocks while asking what highschool I go to as middle aged man. All while trying to get grabby.

>>9495479
Maybe in Cali or a liberal college campus, standards are weird here anyway though. You see busty women having nip slips constantly and no one gives a shit. God forbid someone goes braless or a child goes without a top in their own backyard though.
>>

That's when you yell at them and smack the shit out of their hand. A loud, "you can look, but you can't touch," usually halts even the most unsavory of characters.

Make sure you actually yell in anger. Sound mean.
>>
>>9495654
>That's when you yell at them and smack the shit out of their hand.

And you get arrested for assault and not them and/or get seriously hurt because of it. Not all countries are America.
>>
>>9495658
Well. They can arrest me if they want. Grabbing someone should also be assault then. If men can run after you for two blocks, grabbing you without the police involved, you should be able to smack their hand when it's inches away from your body.
>>
What do you usually tell them? Do you just let them grab you and make terrible comments alongside inappropriate questions?
>>
>>9495663
>They can arrest me if they want.

>>9495667
They're men from "certain cultures" I tell them all the usual things but it never does much. Honestly I'm really weak and small and can't shake or pull myself free even when I put my all into it. They're cowards at least and run away when any men not of their group starts walking towards us.

I just try to avoid being alone or getting anywhere near them, but the attitude is still there hence my question. I'm not a club person at all and don't go to concerts so I can't really work shirts like that in compared to more subtle socks. I've been wanting to buy some Japanese ones but I can't justify the price for pjs.
>>
>>9495684
Didn't finish but you get the point. Getting arrested even for something stupid is a huge deal. In my line of work anyway
>>
>>9495684
I'm more expressing my anger that you do not have the option to react in that way, that's terrible.

I don't know how cold it is where you live, but the other option is carry a backpack with you to store a jacket. When I'm out late at night, that's what I prefer to do. During the day, obviously there's more cars out so I have more power to react negatively.

Wear the jacket when you are walking place to place. You can store the jacket in your backpack when you don't need it. It's a bit to carry, but worth it in an unsafe area. I hate down for good reason, but I own a down jacket that was gifted. It's great to scrunch up and fit in a backpack. Otherwise, a lightweight plain color hoodie could be used.

I bought something from idol.theshop.jp and already the foil is peeling off. I think I've washed it once at the most, and I've only worn it a few times.
