I love h.Naoto's deconstructed aesthetic, but it can be a little hard to pull off -- even their styled models sometimes look a bit of a mess. Doesn't help that certain pieces are slightly meh quality -- I mean, it's not a Milanoo ripped lace monster, but it's no Alice AUAA either.

Plus, lately the Frill line has been pretty samey. I kind of miss when they did more interesting things like assymetrical skirts rather than releasing tiered skirts on every dress. Most of the interesting pieces seem to be any other line except the Frill line now.

I've stopped trying to buy purses from h.Naoto, I can pretty much sew a better one myself if I really need it. I understand paying the designer for their creativity, but their purses are kind of atrocious.

A lot of lolitas think raschel lace automatically makes anything ita and they're not used to the punk/decomposed look. H.Naoto makes a lot of non-lolita clothes and lolita clothes that don't fit the traditional Western rules. On top of that, we've been lead to believe there is such a thing as too much lace.

Gosh, I wish Sheglit all the luck in the world, their clothes and their style are beyond lovely. I love all the fun ideas they're trying with corsets and layers. I'm often a deal-seeker and mostly buy secondhand, but I'm happily investing into this brand and buying new.

Atelier Boz is also a smaller classic that I wish I could just cover myself in. Boz + Sheglit are the dream.

The thing that gets me about Violet Fane is that the prints and theme ideas are fucking brilliant and my exact aesthetic... but sometimes the pieces themselves look really unflattering and she can't seem to work her brand's name into her designs in a way that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I'm really excited for the Saint Etienne one and even then I'm reconsidering it just because of the unfortunate font she picked for the sign that's right in the middle of the print. It's so small but it drives me crazy. If she fixed those two issues, hers would honestly be my favorite of all the brands, including the Japanese "real" brands.

Oh no, anon, they're very highly appreciated. Their jellyfish print was so coveted it's only common now because everyone and their moms and their grandmothers bought one.

Krad Lanrete is also supreme frustration material. After jellyfish they no longer allow orders through their taobao store, so you're forced to either find a chinese lolita, or go through clobba, who scalps everything from KL by tacking on $100. He knows you can't order the dress anywhere else, he's happy to exploit your desperation. Then, after ordering it, KL takes forever to deliver. And by forever, I mean they *regularly* overrun their production schedule by months. cgl anons weren't just commenting their dresses were late, we had entire threads get taken over by bitching how late the jellyfish dress was. Versailles print was promised in October, delayed to November, and girls are only getting their dresses now.

They're appreciated, anon. They're also hated and need to die in a fucking fire for sucking at almost everything except making pretty dresses.

I buy accessories from her and they're nice. From what I can tell she does get better at construction so I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes one of the best western brands one day. I haven't seen many other European brands irl tough, just Summertales Boutique and while I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I think the designs are really boring.

It's generally good but you do get what you pay for. It's possible there may be small manufacturing errors and the quality of the materials used is not stellar.
If you have really high standards you might be underwhelmed, but for the price of their dresses (and blouses) you get very cute clothes with nice designs.

Quality. Sheglit's main designer is ex-BPN, and it shows in the kind of materials they use.

F+F started out as cosplay lolita, and some of their materials still betray their origins. The designs might superficially look similar, but if you look closer at the stock photos F+F tends to show material that has a coarser weave, or looks less lush than Sheglit's.
