I live in a very hot climate and I prefer OPs to jsks partially due to not having to wear a blouse with them. I think the neckties with the little bow on it is adorable as fuck. Plus full back shirring, so double the pockets. You are right. They are similar but I want the op, not the jsk. I don't know why you don't get it and why you're asshole is so sore over my preferences. In the end if I wasn't happy with the OP, then I would sell it and move on. Just like anybody else and a dream dream dress that didn't live up to their expectations.

Not that anon, but it's kind of a general accepted idea that if you see your absolute dream dress, barring some serious financial difficulties, you should have some money stored away just for it. Especially since a lot of the time, the dresses aren't even expensive, just uncommon to find.

I've always assumed the entire point of dream dress threads is to help each other find them, and I think a lot of other gulls see them that way too, so it gets really annoying when you're going out of your way to help someone find their dream dress, only for them to miss out on it because they don't have money.

I'm the exact same. It's my dream gothic bag because I don't wear crosses. I like the fact that the shape is suggestive of a coffin without literally being a tacky coffin. I've been looking for this in black for two years (admittedly not as dedicatedly as I should, I go through phases of being very intense and checking every single auction site, flea market app and second-hand site and then don't bother for a while) and it's such a struggle. I've seen the brown a lot and seen gold and teal before but never black. I know. Most of the noise surrounding this dress came from cgl or weibo, so Japanese scalpers wouldn't have caught wind of how much money some girls are willing to pay for the dress. So all they would have to go on is how lukewarm the reception of the dress was when it came out.

Whereas Puppet Circus was widely hyped among Japanese lolitas, so it's easily obvious that many girls like Puppet Circus, making it a prime target for being scalped.

You're kind of aiming too low. The only time Baby paid attention was when the auction for an OTT MTO hit the 500k yen mark with many different bidders in the history. That there's many different bidders is also important, it lets them know that more than one girl will pay over xxk yen for the dress, not just the one girl who already bought her dress.

Plus a collaboration doesn't quite work that way. Baby has to pay licensing fees to the IP holder. So the bar is set even higher if you actually want them to re-release this dress. Better pray it hits the 500k yen mark by the time the auction finishes, then write in to Baby, point them to the auction and request a re-release.

Someone actually sold one in the BST thread on here a few months ago. I've found it in red, but it was a long finished Mbok auction and was a non-velveteen version. The oldest it could be is 2000, because the only image I've ever seen of it aside from the auction I got it from was a street snap from before the GLB (I really do believe it's a late 90's piece).

If you want me to take any detail shots for you then I will gladly do so. The care tag is super ancient and is a really poorly done print of the material on it and that's it. Unfortunately it's kinda falling apart due to the age, so I'm going to re-do all the seams pretty soon to make it last longer.

The back is really plain compared to the front. A detail I thought was interesting was the buttons are plain steel and the waist ties are super close together. They did this on a lot of older pieces. The newest I've seen with that waist tie placement is 2004.

Also, I messed up in my first post; the *newest it could be is 2000. It's 2000 or earlier.

Considering a Chinese lolita wanted this as a wedding dress - and how much mid-range wedding dresses go for these days - I'm honestly not surprised it's gotten this expensive.
