Speaking of this, what's the percentage of sweet/classic/gothic lolitas in your comm?

Mine is about 40% sweet, 50% classic, 10% gothic. I think more are set to go classic and maybe even gothic in the future since I think interest in that style is dwindling and AP isn't putting out many hits lately.

most girls in my comm wear either only gothic or half goth and half classic. there's only a few sweet lolitas in my comm, and we don't live in a very street fashion friendly city, so sweet isn't that fun to wear because we stand out way more.

Hard to give exact amounts. There are only three goths in our comm but they turn up to nearly every meet, whereas most of the sweets don't attend as regularly. Our average turnout is probably 20% gothic, 60% sweet, 20% classic, but in terms of the Facebook group it's more like 5% gothic, 30% classic, 65% sweet.

My last comm had literally one goth and everyone else was sweet or classic, I think having so many dedicated gothic lolitas is an outlier here.

I personally feel like gothic is one of those styles that stays pretty stable in terms of popularity. The sizes tend to run smaller than most sweet dresses, the secondhand market is tiny because most girls (in my experience) tend to buy their gothic pieces to keep and rarely ever sell, and releases aren't as frequent as sweet/classic (from big brands). Because of this, it's kind of difficult to just switch styles to gothic. It takes a lot longer to build up a nice gothic wardrobe than it does a sweet one.

Where do you gulls draw the line between sweet and classic lolita? I dress almost exclusively in sweet-classic, with muted pastels and toned down prints. I do, however feel more like a sweet lolita, especially because I try to aim for an old-fashioned kind of cute (think illustrations in old-timey childrens books), rather than elegant, which I personally think is the hallmark of classic lolita.

Lunie Chan decided to just stop lolita a few weeks ago. She was barely ever wearing it anymore and there was an incident where her suitcase got stolen like two weeks ago (it contained her fave dresses 2 AP and 1 J&J along with 500$ designer horns) which made her decide she was done with lolita for good.

Well the sudden death of a major close family member is reason enough for her to be inactive online, she doesn't owe anyone online anything. She's an adult with a job and in a relationship so lolita probably isn't her first priority. She hasn't left the fashion as far as I can tell, so maybe she'll be active online again in the near future.
