Anyone have any idea how someone could incorporate lolita into their wedding without a burando wedding dress?

I'm planning my own soon, and I think I'm going for a more normie wedding dress (although admittedly more poofy) because I like the styles.

I'm planning on requesting my jfashion friends wear lolita, but how else could I incorporate it? Bridesmaids dresses would probably be difficult to pull off unless I ordered them from BL, as my bridesmaids will be super different in shape/size.

Lolita accessories, like your jewelry can be brand or something? I wouldn't make the bridesmaids lolitas, since other than ordering dresses you'd probably have to get them petticoats and matching accessories, full coords, really, if they're not already lolitas. I saw someone post about how they got matching brooches for their bridesmaids, so maybe something more like that?

Buy some fabric, take it to a tailor and tell them what you want. It's a lot cheaper than buying a dress from a wedding boutique (My mother did this and it cost her about £100, although that was 30 years ago). When I get married I'm going to make my own dress and bridesmaid dresses for my little sisters. I think vintage style dresses are a good alternative to lolita for bridesmaids.

Pick your favorite substyle, theme or even your all-time favorite print or dress. Make that your theme (after lovingly consulting the hubby, of course. God help you if he insists on mashing his theme in and you end up with a Star Wars x IW Lotta theme though), and base your wedding around it -- the background, the deco, even the bridesmaid dresses, etc. You can scan/photograph parts of your favorite dress and use them as background on the wedding invites, the placards, signs, whatever. If you have one of those guest photobooth with props, you can do either generic stuff, eg- top hats, bow ties, flower crowns and bonnets for the guests to take photos with. Or you could do props tied to your print, eg- giant unicorn heads or big teacups or whatever your dress inspires. You don't particularly need to chose a print, if your thing is JetJ, you can do a rococo wedding theme instead, hits pretty close and works well with most JetJ prints.

You can either dress up in lolita for the pre-wedding photoshoots, or save the props and take photos in lolita after and add them to your photo album.

As for the bridesmaids, some of Bodyline's stuff isn't too bad, you can check for reviews. You should add in the cost of getting a properly poofy petti though, or you'll be surrounded by deflated itas on your big day.

Alternatively, if you just want the poof, you could try vintage- or retro-styled bridesmaid dresses, or just plain fit-and-flare if that's fine with you.

This German lolita had the ultimate lolita bridesmaids, all of them wearing the same print. But apparently it wasn't easy organizing it, because some of them had to buy the dress especially for the occasion and really had to hunt it down. But it looks like the effort was worth it!

There was one person who basically used BtSSB Pockets Embroidery as heavy design inspo for a full length silk wedding dress. This was in ye olden LJ days though so it doesn't come up when you search lolita weddings.

Actually, if we're going down that route, I feel like some of the tea-length dresses just need a bit of work to turn them into proper floor-length gowns, there's no real need to redesign lolita dresses into different dresses altogether.

Take the Dressy Time special set, for eg. It's already in ruffled tiers, so if you add another underskirt with more layers (matching lace), maybe add an overskirt or a train to break up the monotony of ruffles all the way down, or pin up part of the skirt to create some assymmetry, it could very easily look like it's meant to be a floor-length dress all along.

Only issue I foresee is finding the right dress combo -- dressy time doesn't come in white, pink x ivory is the closest. Holy Lacy Doll onepiece does come in white, but only the onepiece is long (and it's pretty stuffy looking). I've been wondering if it's possible to layer a JetJ dress over a bunch of ruffles to imitate the look in >>9379185, though.

Has any one bought the actual wedding dresses brands release? What is the quality like on them?

I blame the fact that Japan does not have a long Western wedding dress or prom dress tradition. It's probably just as bad as when a Western designer started to do Kimonos - there is a big chance it would look somewhat off.
