Honestly, I think an itabag is boring if it DOESN'T have multiples of the same item.

Having no duplicates isn't painful enough. It just seems kinda... too normal? Even though there's nothing normal about a bag covered in anime. But to me, having a lot of multiples is a lot more out-there, obsessive-looking, and fun.

Repeating items actually have a lot of merit in basic design theory. I think itabags look best when they repeat items or have a very cohesive, narrow color scheme. And let's face it some characters don't have multiple items.

While I agree from a design stand point, I like seeing different designs in ita bags if it's possible. Both can look great but I just enjoy seeing different items more since I can spend a little more time looking at the bag.

When it comes to bags with official merch, I like repeating items a little more. Bags with fan made things, I personally like to see more variety in merch.

Personally, I prefer making bags with a lot of different merch, because that's what I like collecting.

However, I think you can still reap the benefits of repeating patterns in a bag's arrangement by designing with an eye to the merch's shape and type. Can badges are all round circles in the same size, which is why I love using them in bags so much. You get that same repetition without having a lot of the exact same item.

The logo is part of the cloth lining, you can see the stitching covers it at the top. So if you remove that or put another background on top it, there ya go.

It looks like they mimicked the Uta-Pri bags. if that's the case, one would take out the inner lining and make their own. Or as others have suggested, put a background over it. Otherwise, definitely does seem like a good option for NA.

I think that's by a reputable company and you can take the frames somewhere local for lenses. Did this for Bleach glasses back in the day. You can't order your prescription from from Japan because they have their own system

Depends how desperate you are, I guess. I have ordered just 1-2 two keychains from Ami plenty of times, and they have sent them in sturdy envelopes (instead of a cardboard box) so you save a bit in shipping. It'd probably be a smarter move to find someone to do a group order with or buy in a bulk, but if you want your items as fast as possible then why not order just one or two items. Your wallet is crying either way.

Cellphone charms are like my worst nightmare because I had a massive collection on mine when I was a weeb that collected keychains (that spurned 10+ years of awkward gifts from my grandmother out of misunderstanding) and I had a ton of weeb keychains on my bag and my cellphone. Right, so I'm completely new to this but I finally have a new husbando so I decided he needs an itabag. Bikefairyfags from the last thread, where you at?

Otabek is both really new and a side-character, and I'm a little nervous about how much merch is gonna come out for him and how easy it's going to be to get. I'd love to know what I can expect to be released in the future. I have no idea what's normal, since I've literally never bought any merch outside of at cons. Right now all there is on amiami is butt-ugly or only comes in 10/12-packs. Will there be individual stuff for sale later, or will I need to scour the internet for people splitting the sets? (I really wanna do this, but I don't 40-bucks-for-a-set-with-one-badge-I-actually-want wanna do this.)

I dearly love the look of itabags plastered with multiples of badges/charms, so scouring second-hand stuff would be a pain over just buying multiples to begin with. How the hell do people get that many multiples? I'm starting to see why people say these bags show their dedication to the fandom.

Basically, please tell me how you would go about planning a bag for a really new side-character.

As for planning for a side character, I suggest getting a smaller bag since with side characters it takes a lot longer to build up items for your bag sometimes. Pretty much try to plan around negative spaces and things that could make you bag look cute/full still if that's the look you want.

I just found these DIY keychains, would it be frowned upon to print out fanart to put in there ? I don't want to upset artists if they find pics of my bag and see their art there. The general rule of using fanart is if you don't have the artist's permission, DON'T. Even if you're sure they'll never find out, just don't.

You could totally use official art and screen/manga caps in them though

There are wonder clips that are meant for leather/vinyl specifically so you don't ruin the material with pins while sewing. Also try a teflon foot on your sewing machine to prevent sticking/slipping.

Obviously the legendary baggers who wind up on the internet have no issue of having multiple bags, backpacks, shirts, etc. You can take it as far as you'd like. Considering the size of the base of amiibos, I imagine it would be a problem. It also may look the bag look weird since it'll warp how the window looks.

You can still try but pretty much the FAQ covers a section about attaching figures to your bag. Unless you don't want to sew into your bag, pretty much some people have discussed putting figures in a hard plastic case of some kind to keep them from damage.

There's a sticky tab you're meant to stick your phone on to hold it in. That was too permanent for my tastes so I stuck a clear case to the tab so I can switch cases. The wallet cases are very bulky and a bit clumsy so I tend to only use mine on specific occasions when I feel like being overly weeby like a con or when having a case on a strap is convenient like when I'm doing a lot of traveling.

I have an idea for a phone ita case.

A basic clear case that snaps onto the phone. Attached to the back (hotglued? maybe) is a clear vinyl pouch, the same dimensions as the phone. The pouch would have a zipper along one of the longest sides. This ita phone would be focused on flat charms + badges to keep the phone width low.

Inside the pouch there is a piece of stiff felt. You remove the felt piece, pin your things to it, and slide it back in through the zipper, and zip it back up.

I think that could really work!

With the vinyl being soft, it may allow the charms inside to get damaged when the phone is placed down. It might work better if it was clear solid acrylic, forming a little space within the case. Not sure how you'd access the inside and seal it again though. Maybe access by removing the phone?

Just got back from Japan and it's very easy to find their bags. I found most of them in Harajuku and Shibuya hut mainly Harajuku. Once you exit the JR in Harajuku there's a wego with heart bags right down the street.

The Mise tote's clearance is very minimal, it barely expands as the only depth it's given is the width of the zipper. I've seen people put very small 3D keychains in (like color colle) but that will push into the interior and into the vinyl cover. Overall, very good for flat items.

The WEGO totes definitely have way more clearance, a good 3/4 of an inch or so. You can stack lots of charms and still have room. Small 3D keychains fit easily.

If you have a preference to WEGO, their newly released totes are double sided in the LL and L size. One side has 3" clearance and the other side is like the Mise tote, only as much depth as the zipper.

Attached a comparison picture of the newer totes (black) and older tote (purple).

As for interiors, both definitely have lots of room and are comparable in size.

Thanks for input, gulls! As for now, I'm most likely going to do the other side of my current bag instead of a new bag. The reason why I wanted to keep the bag somewhat discreet is because I will be moving to a middle of bumfuck nowhere in Chiba's countryside. I was planning on busting the bag out only when visiting Tokyo and keeping it hidden during the way there. But I'll probably just say fuck it, or put it inside a bigger tote to hide it.

I have a clear ringke fusion case for my phone and it comes in different accent colors. It comes with a template that you can trace and cut out of a picture or photo so you can see it through the clear backing when you sandwich it between the case and phone. Can probably cut a template out of paper or card stock and decorate with character stickers.

Dva always has a lot of stuff available and almost all of it is super cute. I'm not much a fan of the meme gremlin myself but even then I see a lot of stuff around. I can try to compile a list or something of Dva stuff I've seen from various artists I follow and link you to it. Would anyone be interested in taking part in a group order for the new omanjuu set? I'm from EU but i don't mind shipping internationally (its quite cheap, 3 euros at most).
