Posting Kawaii Int Entries
All these posts are too big to post on 4ch so I'm going to take a while condensing them first
And finally, reposting news from old thread. Listen Flavor towels
What do y'all think about fat girls in fairy kei / decora?
Fine so long as they have a decent figure and don't demand attention due to their weight
Ita as fuck
Jesus that crop top with that high skirt basically gave her the weirdest figure possible
The outfit besides that is fine but jesus
Those shoes are actually pretty neat
M A K E I T S T O P
I really love that scarf
She has so many peices that a really cute could be made out of but still somehow managed to fuck it up terribly
She looks cute and the outfit is fine so it's w/e
for casual day to day wear i like wearin leggings and pastel sweaters or tops. itd be nice to find comfy leggings in pastel colours but oh well guess i'll just stick with black and go fuck myself
I don't know when the fairy kei threads switched to actually having useful info, recent pics and advice on where to find new releases, but I commend the anon that started it. Much better than image dumps of the same stuff all the time.
Serious question but why is western fairy kei, decora, and yumekawaii fashion so damn ugly these days? There are still elements of simplicity when these styles are worn in Japan but for some reason there are so many really ugly outfits western girls wear, it's an eye sore.
I have no idea. I feel like I am one of the few western girls who still wears more Japanese looking fairy kei.
Most western fairies seem to Tumblr it up and it has turned into something a bit different looking here than how it started.
In Japanese fairy kei it seems to be
>not very many wigs and mostly natural or dyed hair
>more appliqued shirts and things with added on small details
>more layering and each individual piece is usually simple
>more clothes that are either actually vintage or are styled to look vintage
>mascot characters on their clothes are usually from old shows or styled to look like they are from an old show
Western fairy kei seems to be
>more wigs and less dyed natural hair
>less vintage style clothing and more pastel clothes that look "new"
>mascot characters on outfit peices don't always look vintage and can just be pastel "kawaii" style
>sometimes more dramatic makeup
Pic related, left is an example of westernized fairy kei and right is an example of Japanese fairy kei
I think decora gets confused/mixed-in with fairy kei. I remember old street snaps of decora when it was really popular, and it was a super bright, modern overdecorated style. I don't see a lot of pictures of decora from Japan anymore.
Decora was always in my opinion really ugly. It seems like a lot of people are fond of the style though. (Way too many accessories.) Picture unrelated.
Im a bigger girl and I love fairy kei but I feel so self conscious being in the fashion. I wear sweet lolita all the time though but it works better for me since the poof hide my extreme pear shape. Ive been on the hunt 5ever to get some decent bottoms that will actually fit both myself and the aesthetic but its freaking impossible. I think I'm going to have to have to hand make some stuff or something soon.
The two projects I want to do the most are recreating the 6% skirt thats in your photo + making some pastel harem pants(?) like photo related. I would have bought these ones but they sold out too fast in the XL and XXL . Not really sure what I would have needed because sizing info on dollskill is kind of ass. ALso I havent seen them anywhere else online
double buns are pretty adorable anon but fluffy hair ties are life
Really? I don't think she's very photogenic or anything, but I do think the outfit is mostly okay.
Not Anon but actually interested in getting some answers here. I try and stick with simple shit and some pastel leggings have been on my lookout list for quite a while. I live in California and check normie stores like F21 and H&M because *sometimes* you can get cute socks and accessory shit there. But is there really more leggings out there than the usual wooly/knitted black?
Normy shops usually stock pastel leggings and pants around springtime, outside of that it is pretty much impossible to find some.
Pic related can be found in Target in spring for bargain, a bit of DIY and they should fit style wise.
I had posted that site in the menhera thread originally. It's a bit expensive, but they'll send you leggings and tights in any color you need including pastel. A pair of leggings is 26 USD, footless tights are 15 USD. They also offer plus size stockings. Pastel leg wear all year.
TOM has some 6% dokidoki accessory lucky bags left
Has anyone bought from 6% before? What is the quality of their items like?
Another LF material sneakpeak, probably some pleated skirt again.
I don't think it's ugly, but a lot of western fairy kei seems to think fairy kei is just pastel decora. I had this misconception myself for a couple of years (I don't wear fairy kei) because I'd never seen anything contradicting it. Or they think that any outfit in all-pastels with a baggy silhouette = fairy kei.
Reminder Fairy Kei is fucking garbage, please convert to VK
MLP Japan is flooding the fairy kei market again.
http://www.lafary.net/ is nice for pastel fashion news, they just posted that there is a yumekawaii xmas party on the 18th.
uh, I'm not sure where to ask this but... I'm trying to order off of global rakuten but this error keeps popping up, what should I do? I'm trying to buy the souda shirt from listen flavor
this. western fairy kei is much much closer to decora, just a tad less OTT and more themed around pastels, where as you can def see how fairy kei and spank! are related styles in japan. Love both myself
LF will be closed starting from next week for holiday reasons.
Is this Axes Femme sweater ok for Fairy Kei or is it the wrong shade of pink?
Link to sweater
I ordered from them in September. The item was on back order. I ordered on the 25th, and it shipped out on the 29th. I used registered airmail. It arrived on October 6th. I don't know how the holidays will affect shipping in Japan.
I wanted to find a picture of an outfit before I posted more about ordering. Once the order status moves to "processed", that means they've confirmed your order from the supplier, Listen Flavor! Here is a link for the rest of the status meanings:
They do a really nice job filling out the customs declaration for entry into the U.S.A. They packaged the over-sized shirt I ordered in a pretty sizable box with air pillows, and taped the box up neatly and secure. They take shipping seriously. There was nothing wrong with the shirt at all. It was nicely folded with tags and everything.
Oh sorry for confusion. Both were me. After posting, I realized you may have been asking about the actual package, not the shipping times.
I'm sorry, 'item status', not 'order status'. So, when you click my account and select 'order history', you'll see that box with the order number in blue, and in your case, 'payment finalized' in orange below it. Click the 11 digit order number in blue. It'll take you to a screen with all the items you purchased for that order. There will be a list that says 'status' following the item's picture/description. If it says 'processed', they have confirmed the item and are fulfilling it.
Someone was posting a Kickstarter link for these on the Fairy Kei sales page and on the comm Facebook
They are kind of cute but they are horrendously overpriced. Why would you pay so much for a suitcase that just has ears on it that move?
It really isn't much cuter than a Hello Kitty patterned suitcase or a suitcase from Swimmer and the retail price is pretty steep ($359 to $599)
Not to mention there's no way that would survive something like an international flight. Everything looks absolutely flimsy. An overnight trip maybe but definitely not a suitcase for actual traveling.
LF restocked quite a lot, including the Kurebayashi collab.
Sasaco made a really cute gummybear themed jewelry series.
It's basicly the same prints of the Little Twin Stars items of their last Sanrio collab but with new colorways. Nothing online yet tho.
Listen Flavor focusing on quality not quantity
galaxxxy doing less collabs/more original stuff
spank! heart tights getting restocked
more cute medical themed stuff (NOT menhera; think more galaxxxy's pastel band aid print or listen flavor's magical girl syringe shirt)
If you haven't seen them, Zettai Ryoiki has some thigh high socks you might like. The first one is sherbet colored band-aids, and the second is rainbow pills. I think that kind of stuff still belongs in the other thread though if it has any medical themes.
I say other thread because Listen Flavor's magical girl syringe shirt most definitely belongs in the other thread. Sorry for posting the links, I just thought anon might like them.
I really like the first ones thank you anon for posting!
I look at the menhera threads on here and theyre just too dark and edgy, idk. Lots of black, lots of blood. Just kinda tacky. I want cute stuff, not self-harming schoolgirls.
BUT the latest outfit posted in the most recent thread is cute, so I guess there can be some style overlap with some of the stuff I like + menhera.
Really boring. All of the ones that won are ones that I didn't even notice when I looked through the entries, multiple times.
Also one of the main winners also won a brand prize which they said in the rules they weren't doing? okay whatever kawaii international
Idk what that anon is even talking about, the syringe print had two re-releases this spring, first one as sweater and second one as hoodie and the medical allover print had few re-releases as well but they sold out within few weeks.
Tokyo Rebel x Listen Flavor Collab tigh highs, didn't even know that they do collabs with other stores.
Another Yumekawaii feature for Listen Flavor in the upcoming january 2017 AkiCul magazine.
Totally forgot that came out!
I'm pretty okay with the results. I liked Katie and Yuyu's outfits and I thought they actually read really nicely as "authentic" Harajuku fashion. Kelly is the weird one for me like what is Harajuku about a prom dress and plain pink heels?
Poorfag trying to come up with some DIYs. I'm thinking a long tulle skirt with layers of different pastels? Anyone have long skirt pics?
If you were the anon asking about ordering from CDJapan, my order just shipped yesterday. I wonder if yours shipped as well.
Thanks for reminding me - my order just left new york so it should be here fairly soon!
What did you get?
Um how have the UK girls hoarded them when the vast majority of these sweaters are thrifted by fairies for super cheap from Goodwill in the USA?? People in the U.K. end up paying stupid money for the sweaters -_-
Lucky pack came in this morning, got mine from the Rakuten store. Generally pleased with everything - I already have the anniversary shirt in yellow but I'm not complaining I like the blue too. Ended up liking the Alice hoodie more than the anarchy top? It's weightier. The PPG tops were ordered separately, just shipped together
So I asked in the bodyline thread but got no response. Has anyone tried the little tutu/petticoat fairykei skirts from there?
Many jp girls do but they usually wear at least two because of being very see-tru.
All I got was a pullover hoodie, nothing too fancy. I will still be waiting a couple days. It left Japan at 6:00 a.m. on the 30th, so unfortunately it'll hit the U.S. right during New Year's madness. I'll get next week I'm guessing.
They may have went ahead and shipped out orders to the distributors since they are ordering in bulk. (Rakuten, CDJapan, Tokyo Rebel, and so forth.) As far as ordering direct from the Listen Flavor site, I don't think it ships until the 1st. (Are they not closed for the New Year?)
I have two of this exact one. You defo need bloomers underneath but they are pretty good. They just go flat after a time so be sure to turn them inside out when storing and don't hang them out in the open.
I checked my rakuten, and the order updated with the shipping fee. However, my paypal has yet to be billed. Was I supposed to do anything after purchasing with rakuten? I'm afraid I've messed up this thing.
Normally they just charge you and send it. Sometimes you need to reply to an email - but often mine don't ship until about a day or two after they've sent the shipping charge, so maybe give it a day or check ur email for something that says 'order confirm'?
I checked my inbox, and I did find an email for Rakuten. There was an email asking me to click on a link to pay. But unfortunately, the link expired. Does it look like I'm out of luck now? I think I might just rather save my money for something else, but I don't want to have my bank account billed suddenly.
Where can I find tights like these? Preferably the pastel ones
She's a lot cuter and more well-dressed than the fat girls who usually get into fairy kei
That particular girl and girls who dress like her are fine
The wailords that normally get into fairy kei are not
She's cute and her fashion sense is good.
She always complains about being fat though, she seems to be losing weight now but it makes you wonder how people let themselves get to that point of being overweight, if they're so body conscious? Wouldn't you make sure you stayed in good shape?
Japan got it's official yumekawaii picnic event series now (pastel dresscode included), I hope this becomes a thing in the west too.
>The UK comm is really not that bitchy desu...
Which of the many cliques? Because Phoenix's special snowflake fakeboy group which includes Rachel is only bitchy, see the lolcow thread.
Has anyone tried these Lolita Charm socks? They seem like a good option for fairy kei
I have these in mint. They're very very long, much longer than Angelic Pretty OTKs. I haven't used them in an outfit yet myself, but I've seen people use them in fairy kei before and they look fine!
I think these are kind of stretching the definition of fairy kei but I'm a weeb and these are 60% off. Hope I can fit I can wear them.
If you ever wear them out for the night, it'd be a great excuse to incorporate some fairy kei accessories into a pastel club outfit. I think they will look great in regular fairy kei too. That's a great deal!
I bought this shirt from Nile Perch and was so excited about getting it and they sent me the version with pink ears instead of the blue eared one.
Also the eyes are a really red hot pink in real life and stick out badly because the rest of the shirt is so pastel. $90 regretti
I basically am saying It is not as cute as pictured and the photos on the site are not true to color.
I saw this shirt posted in the last fairy kei thread so maybe someone considering this shirt will see my post and not make the same mistake as I did.
It's not like they haven't posted pictures of it, next time check irl pics before buying.
Here you go. This picture shows the eye color more accurately. Not meant to be a good coord or anything
I can sell it, it is still a perfectly good shirt.
Mostly just the eyes are just too intense of a color for my liking and the ears are not blue
I did check but the online pics are edited to make the eyes look like a rose quartz color and not a hot red pink. Also it seems random what color ears they send you.
>Is there any big No-No's I should be aware of?
It's hard to do fairy kei wrong unless you don't know how to dress for your bodytype, don't wear accessories or the outfit lacks the "fluffy" feeling when you look at it (aka looking too clean and organised).
This is what I'm aiming for with my wardrobe revamp but is it really fairy kei or something else?
LF's new collection should release by the end of the month.
Yeah exactly. And I'm not Rachel. I just want evidence of what she's allegedly done wrong before I jump to conclusions. Do you have anything other than lolcow the worlds most reliable source?
I feel like a lot of Westerners really don't understand fairy kei. It's not about pastel vomit
The pastels should be extremely light and it should evoke a light, fluffy, dreamy feeling and you shouldn't overaccesorize.
And there is an ideal silhouette, it's oversized/loose on the top and fitted/bare on the bottom
It's a sublimated item so it's not a true ugly acrylic sweater, but the Etsy seller MissOctopie apparently was selling an ugly Christmas sweater in pastel style [Sugar Plum Fairy]. I don't know if it will still be available when her shop reopens, but if you are interested, perhaps ask her about it if the design is unavailable?
Where are these pants and the jacket from?
Here's a link:
I apologize if this has been asked before, but does anyone know which measurement is the bust width? I really want to pick up one of the LF Menhera-Chan pieces but I have a gigantic goddamn bust that can't fit into anything besides their larger cutsews and sweaters. I have a feeling the second one is the bust, but I'd like to have some confirmation
The first is garment length, the second is garment width, and the very last three are sleeve, collar, and hem width. I can't figure out what the 3rd one correlates to. You likely could have posted in the Menhera/Yamikawaii thread. The garment width is 50cm though.
Censored sneakpeak for the LF bondage unicorn print.
The fuck if I know. It is a pretty bad coord in general. I think the only thing making it look remotely decent is the skirt and shoes
Dunno, it was supposed to come online 14th january according to Magical which is already in Japan.
Vans released some really good sneakers for fairy kei recently
Just bought this Nile Perch blouse. Any good coord suggestions?
It's also see through. Should I just wear a white cami under it? Not sure what else I could do since it's pretty tight. But I feel like a cami wouldn't look that good either.
Everything that isn't pink because I'm tired of 90% of all FK stuff being pink. I like lavender the most.
Those things may be useful.
