posted on /soc/ and in the summer and i ended up meeting a really nice, cute guy there, we met up and had a wonderful time! but i had to shift through about 200 skype requests to get that result. it was so bad that i would have 30-40 messages at a time and skype actually stopped telling me i had notifications because it was too much. out of all approx 200, only 3 people kept talking to me after a month, and only 1 (cute guy) after 6 months.

I don't go to many cons but I enjoy art festivals, special exhibitions at museums, tea parties, bookfairs, debates and public lectures. I also travel and sometimes I attend big events abroad.

The game I love the most has to be Animal Crossing or Fashion Forward because of how relaxing the play is. I play more indie games and retro games than I play new releases, lately I have been playing Hyrule Warriors.
Ouran Highschool is wonderful but I also like Death Note, Rage of Bahamut, Usagi Drop, Rozen Maiden and others.
My favorite brand changes. I prefer jewelry from ETC and clothes from BTSSB or A&TP, I also like smaller brands and casual brands.
Movies and books I love are usually historical or espionage I like Le Carre.

I use instant cameras, don't use a smartphone (well, I just use a little Moto e at home for games sometimes, it doesn't go with me everywhere), I use record players and cassettes, I read physical books, write letters, etc etc. I just like tangible objects more than digital things. Even when I was a kid and I played on my Ps2, I loved the 'kerthunk' of slotting in the memory card and av cables. You don't get that anymore.

And I am very interested in radios. It's just that I don't know much about them (and electronics beyond splicing with beans is kind of intimidating). But I've always been a mechanical person. Elbow deep in my car, or cleaning my Savage, they're enjoyable to me. I tried to apply that drive to programming a couple times, but the lack of a physical entity to look at just doesn't work for me. You should look into getting an arduino or raspberry pi (microcontroller/lil computer), so you can actually interface programming with something tangible. I agree programming just for programmings sake is boring, I only do it so I can control real/physical things.
I had a physics professor who used an arduino in his hybrid car to override the car from choosing to use the battery or engine.

Not to dork out or anything, but robotics, especially bionics and military service robotics (DARPA stuff) has always been so cool to me! That's why I got into programming in the first place, because I have the mechanical skill to make a robot's body, but not the skill to make a "brain". Most of the lotions, lip balms and what not use the same base ingredients just different amounts for the most part. Candles, lotion bars, sunscreen, shaving cream, lipbalm all use beeswax and the last four all use a similar blend of oils.

You do accumulate a lot of stuff though, its a whole cabinets worth for me currently. I do make a ton of it, and after the initial cost its cheap to maintain.

I made candles for the first time this year. I tried making a holiday spice scent but it came out kinda woodsy instead, which was great but not at all the plan so I'm right there with you haha
