!! I have that gold lace, I used a bunch of it for my Marie Antoinette costume during halloween.
Can confirm it's craft store tier, around 50p a metre o lawd. The saving grace is that the matte colours are slightly finer, so they can make a nice accent for things like huge ruffles and undergarments.
TL;DR cluny lace is okay sometimes but not all the tie. WTF, AP

I like using this type of lace in neutral colours for minimalistic accents and stuff, but the metallic versions are tacky as hell. Up there with ricrac, which AP also uses. Oh well.
