the bar usually has a "special" con menu. a few drinks with weeby names, and shitty food.

the food court is your typical deal. the asian place is pretty generic, but good enough. i prefer the great wraps, the starbucks downstairs, and the actual restaurants in the mall. there's also a chiptole down the road.

DnB is probably your best bet for 30 bucks you can get unlimited wings and a 20 dollar game card on thursdays according to their website. Also a main event to the south of the mall.

Aside from that I think there might be an arcade still in the mall, and tilted kilt is across the street(if you are into that). Gaming hall is apparently open all day on Thursday at the con as well, not sure what your budget for the con is like.

On the topic of things to do around the con, any good non-chain places to eat? I'm not from the area and Google is just giving me chain restaurants (P.F. Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Hooters). I don't mind having to take an Uber or drive over, I just want something sort of unique.

Fashion show was good. 50% Dangerous was amazing - Vic was fucking hilarious even if he's an asshole. Meta had some nice prints and models were good but 50% took the stage.

Same, the cgl meetup was one of the high points of my whole con. Say what you will about "sausagefests", but the group was really friendly, and I enjoyed talking with everyone at dinner. I'd love to attend more meetups in the future!

This was my first time here. Absolutely loved it. Cannot wait to come again next year.

Sucks that I am stuck at the embassy suite until tomorrow but we've never been a fan of hassling to leave a convention the day it ends. Rennasance seems to be the place to be.

I didn't have as much fun as last year, and last year I didn't have as much fun as the one before that, I think I'm starting to get too old for this, every year it gets more and more Awkward. I might have to give it up.

I thought it was great! Food seemed to be hotel catering. It wasn't too much since was high tea fare but I thought it was pretty tasty. We actually did end up getting more than one tea bag because there was bunch given to each table.

Everyone won at least a small raffle prize and three people one larger prizes from Metamorphose.

I'm bad at numbers so I can't give an exact estimate on how people were there but the tables were not filled. I wasn't expecting them to be and I doubt AWA was either since one entire table was just staff I think.

We got plenty of time to talk with Taira-san and take photos. I thought she was wonderful to talk to.

All around, it was quiet but a good time and seemed to be fairly well-organized.

This con was so surprisingly average for me. I normally go to cons with 1,000 to 6,000 people, so I thought a con with 20,000+ would be totally different, but it wasn't. As far as sells went, I actually made slightly less than I do at other small cons, but there was so much competition, I never seen a con with soooo many furry tails for sale. At least no one else's tails had lights.

Btw, thanks for stopping by the table guys. all of you who stopped by was great and the ones who cosplayed were seriously great. The last con were I told anons to stop by, only one guy did and he was not the good side of /cgl/, so thanks for being great.

I got a Milfeulle figure for $5 at the flea market. Ranpha is my favorite, but it's still Galaxy Angel.

Out of the dealer room, I got Dance in the Vampire Bund, a copy of No Lives Forever and Xenosaga 2.

Some Aniplex guy gave me a free Monogatari series poster as my group was leaving the dealer's room on Sunday as they were closing.

I wasn't really impressed with the figures for sale this year. The dealers didn't really offer any good sales and the selection was too limited. I didn't end up breaking $100 in merch. Pretty happy about saving the money, but not so much on the selection.

I feel like it's the same booth that came to another con I was at selling lolita stuff and one of their purses was on the floor sticking out from under their curtain divider where I guess one of the booth owners had kicked it accidentally. I think Lolita Collective is what booth I had the incident with. I didn't really bother catching the name off the banner since I was in a hurry to get back to work. If that was the same group then I can see why they got shoplifted because their booth set up at my con was on an end row and they kept the aisle end (across from the eating area) curtained off as a barrier wall with purses sitting on top of the barrier so it would have been very easy to just walk by and snatch something and keep going. Not to mention pretend to drop something and just kneel down and rifle under the table skirt where the purse I saw was half sticking out. It was sticking out so far I thought someone had lost their bag until I saw an identical one sitting on top of their curtain barrier.

If it's the same booth then they really need to work on their set up for future conventions or at least keep a better eye on things because the guy who was working it at the time with a lolita didn't even notice I was holding the bag until I got his attention and handed it back.

I gotta say this con was definitely a blast and probably one of the best times I had with a /cgl/ meetup. Everyone was friendly and nice, don't think there isn't a single person I wouldn't love to meetup with next year if I am able to go. Wasn't quite sure what to expect after a few of my last meetups with cgl, but this one by far was the best.

Did anyone else get caught up in the elevator chaos in the Sheraton Sunday morning? I'm seriously wondering if it's worth it to stay there next year. They had stairs from floors 1-2 and from floors 3-17, but only elevators between 2 and 3 (apparently the reason for this was to make it so you needed to use your roomcard in the elevator to get to your floor, making sure no one could just wander in and go to any floor). This means that anyone above level 2 could only get to the lobby through the elevator, which became an absolute nightmare when hundreds of people were all trying to check out at the same time. I think at one point there were over 30 people on my floor all lined up down the hall waiting for an elevator. Took me about an hour and a half for what should have been a 10-minute moveout process. They seriously need to get it together, i.e. open up the service elevator or the fire escape staircase that morning so we don't get these insane pileups. What a mess.
