I have a decent amount of second hand IW and Meta that I wear daily, but never post to CoF because I'm not really interested in criticism on daily coords I wear to run errands/ feel like seeing myself posted to ita threads for being boring. I've been meaning to set up an IG, though. I'm too lazy for a proper blog.

I think the whole trend in Lolita recently is everything being completely OTT and conlitas are not helping that go away.

It's sad when a girl with a really well put together coord goes unnoticed because it's simple and something not so well thought out gets attention because it's OTT and wings and props etc. I personally don't post to CoF or anywhere because Lolita is my daily style and I'm a lonelita, but I can imagine those who do would feel discouraged to do more toned down coords.

Makes it feel like it's a costume instead of a fashion.

that's why I said "daily/casual." there were a lot of conversations about how non-ott coords are getting drowned out and there's not a lot for those of us who just wear lolita every day (and don't want to wear cakes on our heads or whatever). you are welcome to post casual though!

Please do! I'm trying to build a daily wadrobe and its so hard to find inspiration for good coords that people are actually wearing on a daily basis. OTT are great and its always fun to see what people are wearing when they look their best, but I want to see how people look when they're picking up groceries too.

instagram seems to be the way to go for posting coords that are a WIP or just a daily coord without having to worry too much about getting unnecessary critique.

I'm just a bit sad when I see a perfectly normal coord labelled as casual.
Casual/daily lolita is a really comfy style, where matchy-matchyness, 100%lolita accessories and dtaple pieces are not necessary.
Like you just wear your lolita dresses and some other cute stuff.

I mostly included the word "casual" so people knew this wasn't a "daily lolita" livejournal thread. if people want to make this about casual lolita, that's fine. but I personally wear "boring" coords regularly and wanted a thread to talk about what people wear regularly (not to cons/meet ups/etc). it seems like there was a bunch of talk about this kind of thing elsewhere on the board too.

if people want to make this about casual (cutsews, non lolita pieces, etc) that's fine too :)

I think OTT and only wearing it to con's and teaparties is way more popular so it drowns out daily lolita and girls who got into it because they love this aesthetic, who try to incorporate this in their daily clothing style and even how they decorate their house/room. But it's OK we can co-exist. Don't get so offended if you're a conlita and someone complains about OTT, and don't get so offended when someone shits on lifestyle lolita. It's a shame if newbies think there is only 1 side of this fashion tough.

if I don't have to go to work I wear lolita. ''Full'' lolita but not OTT. But I work 5 days a week. I have to wear a suit at work and when I get home I'm usually too tired to wear a ''full'' coord, so I just throw on an OP and leave it at that (obviously my hair and make-up would already have been done for work). Something like >>9177713 looks most similar to what I wear daily after work, but with the nude tights I'm still wearing from work because that's just how lazy I am.

Just treat it as a fashion yourself, support brands that make less OTT pieces, wear it and the people around you will see it as a fashion too. How do conlita's hurt you? Complaining about them doesn't make them go away and considering this is also a cosplay board this is probably where most conlita's are.

I'm guilty of being an OTT conlita only because I live in such a rural place where I never see any sort of Jfashion so conventions were the only place I could wear it without feeling self-conscious. Thankfully now that I'm in college and looking towards workstudy on campus (all the instructors dress nicely) I'm putting effort into starting off with an off brand wardrobe to wear 2-3 times a week.
